The French fries were hot and crispy! Kind of wished we didn't had to share because I enjoyed everything about this plate! I usually visit the Rice Village location. Breakfast is amazing, and on nice days we enjoy the covered outdoor patio.The food is always high quality and the portions are generous. This place is consistently delicious. Their beef kabobs are marinated perfectly and are always so tender and juicy. My husband orders some type of lamb dish and he says that it's delicious as well. There is no way I could have planned, managed, or executed my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner without her. She was so easy and flexible when creating a plan, she was responsive on every level, she made suggestions and developed a well balanced menu for my dinner party. The guests enjoyed all of the food, the highlights were the pizza and baklava. The restaurant provided a perfect place for seating next to the bar, which was able to accommodate each guest's beverage preferences. Normally a good place for food and drinks but this time was not good. The bartender never gave us any privacy. We sat at the bar and she kept budding in on our conversation and not being rude we talked to her. She eventually started getting very personal with all her business and showing her tattoos to where we closed out and left. She also charged me for a shot I did not order. She talked about making and experimenting with drinks and shots and made a shot and insisted I try it. I emailed management when this all happened with names but never received a response so that is why I'm posting this. I visited Island Grill for the first time today for lunch. The service was great! I arrived late, so I ordered well after the rest of my party, but the food came quickly and at the same time as others'. At Island Grill, you order at a counter, get a number, and a runner delivers the food, so there are no dedicated servers. The manager stopped by our table a few times during the meal to ask if everything was going well, and if we needed anything, which was nice. I was also able to stop a runner to ask for a take-away box, which was provided promptly. I asked her about the garlic sauce that came with my meal, and she offered to get me a side serving to take away with my food - excellent service! Being surrounded by a number of large businesses, it was very crowded for lunch, making conversation difficult in the indoor dining area given the size of our table. They had an outdoor area as well, which I suspect would have been quieter, but hot during the Texas summer. I ordered the Mediterranean Plate, which was a Greek salad with sautéed mushrooms and onions, topped with chicken and gyro meat, and served with the aforementioned garlic sauce. It was a reasonable amount of food, which I could have eaten in one sitting if I had wanted to, but was also enough to split into two smaller meals. The garlic sauce was creamy and flavorful. The meat, which I thought would be the star of the show, tasted a bit bland to me, particularly the chicken. They had a standard offering of sodas, as well as a few brewed iced teas - the Black Currant was very flavorful, and my favorite. read more

Went last nice to this place, my niece and nephews had a Pizza, and they devoured it! They said it was very good, it was freshly made on their brick oven. I had a Certified Angus Beef Burger- cooked rare, and the meat was very good. I did ask for an egg and it was not cooked how I asked, but it was still good. I had the sweet potato fries that were very tasty. We ordered queso and salsa for the table and for the price I wish we would have received a little bit more. the salsa and queso is very small. The service is phenomenal. All of the staff are very impressive! Allison, is amazing, and does an incredible job managing this place. It is great to see Island Grill did not skim when hiring their bartender. Jessica is AS GOOD AS IT GETS! Her ability is outmatched ONLY by her level of service.
