The strangest experience i have had purchasing a car. i knew the car that i wanted down to the color and options. I asked for a price on a leftover they had (2019) and a 2020. I also advised I did not need financing. I was told they could not give me a price because the manager was not present and that they would call me. I never received a call. So, the following week I called and the salesman stated he would get back to me. The next day he called and would only give me a price on a lease of the leftover. He stated he could not get a price on a sale until I told them how much I was putting down and worked on financing with them. I advised I didnt need financing via Mazda. They would not give me a price. I wasted my time visiting this dealer twice. I have bough many cars over my lifetime. I have never had a dealer not give me a price on a car. I believe this to be the dealer not the salesman as he was very nice. Guess I will have to continue to buy cars in New Jersey instead of locally which truly bothers me as I always try and support local business. Oh well read more

My partner, son and I were looking for a new car. We went to Honda Bay Ridge (very rude), Volkswagen, Nissan, and ended up at the end of the day at Island Mazda. The sales rep Mike Promyslovsky was well-informed, honest, knowledgeable and went beyond the call of duty to help us. We decided on a CX 5 Grand Touring in soul red. Mike and the manager Joe gave us a great deal -- much better than Wayne or the other dealerships we looked into. Mike helped us return our old Honda CRV and even stopped by my house to pick up the valet key I had forgotten to bring in. He also gave us a good deal on maintenance, trained us on the workings of the car, and was generally joyfully free of BS. I cannot recommend these guys enough. read more

I went to island Kia - horrible and they were going as far as lying about mazda to get me to sign with them. That's when I crossed the street and met Phil. He is amazing and I highly recommend him. Where do I begin??? My husband and I have been researching for the best car that will fit our needs, budget and is safe. We went to a few dealerships and always felt pressured by the salesperson to the extent where you can't have a minute to think. I decided to google and yelp Island Mazda and saw the great reviews and ratings they received so figure we give it a shot. WELL, glad we did! Went there 2 weeks ago and checked out the cars in the lot with no pressure. Went inside and Phil Dugo greeted us and all he said was "take a look around and let me know if you have any questions.". I was like "Whaaat? ok". Turns out they didn't have the model we were looking for. Phil said they're getting more in. Went back today and Phil remembered me after only meeting him for 10mins. He showed us exactly what we ask for which was a CX3. We test drove it and realized it was too small for us. He didn't not try to push us into anything, he basically let us talk through it and make our own decision. We decided to test drive the CX5, after that I knew we were going home with that car. Our daughter was getting hungry, Phil offered to buy us pizza! but, pizza place was closed so my husband went to the bakery next door to get something. Um... Phil RAN to the bakery and insisted on buying our breakfast/lunch! How awesome is that!!? We refused and he just insisted. OH and he offered us his wife's homemade stromboli. haha. which was delicious btw. Back to the car, Phil went to Mike V. (finance mgr) and came back with numbers for both models and again, NO PRESSURE! We went to speak with Mike V. and what a character. He's straight to the point, honest, doesn't try to sway you in any direction, just presents facts and options. He even gave us his opinion on our finance option which 100% makes sense. After all paperwork was complete, we left Mike's office and our car was ready within 5 mins. Phil walked us through the car one more time and off we go! This was the best experience we've ever had with car dealerships. They actually made us feel like we were family, it's strange but true. I think we were there for a little over 2 hours but it definitely did not feel that long. Everything went so smooth. I've been looking to lease a car within the last few weeks, but not just any car. This would be my first car so of course I wanted to make sure I took my time with my decision and didn't feel any pressure. What a great experience!" Our 2016 Mazda6GT lease was coming to an end in month with a NJ dealership. We returned to that dealership to shop, torn between perhaps downsizing to the Mazda3 or staying with the 6. We found their prices high, very high and just didn't feel like we were in the right place. So we left, shopped around, looked at other vehicle makes and returned to the car we love, Mazda. We met Fred Bosco at Island Mazda. He showed us the Mazda3 talked about it's features, etc. But we realized once in the driver's seat that we're just not ready to give up the size and luxury of the GT. Fred then asked what we were looking for in a car, etc. He listened-no way did he push. Then, suggested we take a look at the Signature model and oh what a home run. The design, turbo engine, incredible interior and we knew-this was IT. We had one more car to look at down the road but we never left Island Mazda after all. We talked, negotiated and again Fred was not a pushy sales rep but one that listened and understood what "we" wanted. For the 1st time ever we left a dealership with a new car that day! They gladly took our pristine 2016 Mazda and within a few hours we were home in a luxurious Mazda6 Signature and it is a simply great car inside and out. We've not purchased/leased a vehicle on Staten Island in over six years. Just took one bad experience in SI to have sent us to NJ. So glad we returned home to Staten Island. If you're looking at a Mazda we would highly recommend a visit to Island Mazda, be sure to ask for Fred Bosco he was by far the best Sales Rep we've dealt with. My husband and I were looking to lease a Mazda CX5, and had been to other dealerships before, but Island Mazda said that they would give us a better price, and they did! The salesperson who helped us was Mike Daniel, who was a pleasure to talk to, and a very genuine, well spoken, and well mannered gentleman. He had good knowledge about the car, knew what he was talking about, and gave every piece of information with utmost sincerity. I also had a word with his supervisor, Jo, who was also pleasant to talk to, and gave us a good price as promised with a few perks added on as well! It was a transparent deal, with no hidden charges. The finance guy Mike too helped us tremendously to get everything in place, and finance the car, cannot thank him enough! Overall, we had a wonderful car buying experience due to these 3 gentlemen helping us. The rating would be 2.5 if I could give it. It was five stars because the sales people are awesome! Usually buying a car is stressful and overwhelming but not here. They let me and the hubby try at different cars when we're between models and we never ever felt rushed. I had some weird questions and they never made me feel foolish and they didn't go back and forth on the lrice. We gave them our number and they showed us what fit. Such an easy and enjoyable process! Buuuuut their service department is just awful. 3 hours for an oil change with an appointment and literally months of multiple calls to see about a recall that my VIN # said my car was included in and I still can't get anyone to answer my calls about seeing if my actually has the issue. Service staff are rude on the phone even and act like you are getting in the way of their day. I would recommend for buying/leasing a mazda but take it someone else to service. read more

The purchase of my new car went fantastically well. My salesperson was great during the test drive as well as during the negotiation process. He answered all of my questions to my full satisfaction. I found the finance department wonderful as well. The reason for my 3 stars, however, is the customer service after the sale. An accessory agreed upon during the negotiation process had been mistakenly left out of the car and some necessary documents had not been sent to my insurance company. It took a week of several phone calls and messages left, with no call back, until I was fianally able to speak to my salesperson. And still one issue remains to be resolved. read more

I'm very upset at the manager I spoke with in this dealership. They basically didn't want to take responsibility and blames Manfredi for everything! Like that's going to help solve the problem. They even told me it's like it's they are McDonald's and Manfredi is like Burger King, so they don't have any business with my issues. Very dissaopinted at this place. I referred people here including my brother and my sister. I was returning my car lease and told me they were going to purchase it off of Chase. I was glad until a month later, I receive a bill from Chase saying Island Mazda did not purchase the car. I couldn't believe it! I called Island Mazda and the Manager said they don't do that.
