This was my first time here. I brought a family member to get a pedicure as a birthday gift. There is a sign on the window saying they have a ventilation system to remove strong fumes from materials used in nail polish. When we walked in the door the odor smacked us in the face...first bad sign. A severe language barrier caused the tech to totally misunderstand our request and she totally messed it up. But that might have been a blessing, ending the session early. The tech did not change foot towels between me and the customer before me. I strongly suspect the tech also did not use clean tools on my toe nails. I will be so thankful if I do not get a nail infection out of this. Well, this is a warning....avoid avoid avoid. I got a gel manicure and deluxe pedicure last week. I was pleased with the results when I left but within 2 days, two of my toes were chipped. By the 4th day, the gel was lifting on my fingers. Today is exactly one week and 1 day later and you would think it had been at least 1 month since my last salon visit. Every gel mani that I've had from any other place lasted at least twice as long. This place was nice enough, it was clean and a very large selection of polish, the staff was friendly but I will never go back to this place again. It was a waste of my money. This is my first time here. My pedicure was so quick, the only thing they did was take off my old polish, rub some oil on my legs, and used a scraper on my feet. No massage. When they painted my toes I noticed my nail was crooked so I asked if they could fix it. Which made me think they were okay with me walking out of their salon with a sloppy pedicure. I would think that the job they perform portrays the type of business ran. As an owner I wouldn't let a sloppy pedicure walk out because that's my reputation. Just my opinion. I hate it here! The first time I went, Pammy attended me and her work was ok. I did not like the job too much but it was decent so I went with it. I gave it a second try so I went in last week for a fill-in and my nails appeared fine. I should of checked closely before I left because the pinky nail looked like it was dripping nail polish even if it was dry. The acrylic seems very cheap since my thumb and ring finger nail broke off already and I do not hard work. I will NOT be going there anymore. read more

I have been going to Island nails for a few years now my husband and I usually get pedicures and then I usually get my nails done period I was getting tips fill ins and polish as they grew longer and now are my own fingernails I just get the gel over top of my nails and I go to V because she is the best with designs and I love designs everyone there is very friendly I have never had a problem before I usually go every two weeks I always see V for my nails I tip out every single person who works on me being the person who does my pedicure the person who paint my toes and the person who does my nails on Saturday I had a party I had to be at 7 pm I went into the salon at 5 pm I asked V if she could help me out between six and 615 I was not having a pedicure she said yes she had a customer in her chair halfway finished I decided to wait period she did a fill-in and I asked her to bring down the length of my nails and also could you change the shape just a little bit she made them a little bit pointy which reminded me of a vampire and I was not liking that so I asked her if she could just take off the points she got very sassy with me and I called her out on it are you mad at me I said she didn't say anything so I didn't say anything either she continued to do my nails I had my phone out sitting on her station to show her the design I wanted by this time it was 615 and I could not wait any longer I hadn't even had the design started yet I asked her to just put Clear polish on my nails and I will be back in a few days to get the design period he charge me $45 which was reasonable for a Fill in. I stood up and got my purse and I was getting the money out to pay her I paid the $45 and I tipped her $20 and I was about to walk out when she realised my phone was still on the station when she went to hand me my phone she dropped it period I said thank you and we like for the party I never let go of the phone as I got in the car and went to pull up directions I noticed two cracks in the face of my phone but we had already left and we're on our way and it was too late to go back I figured I would talk to her when I went back for her to do my design period on Monday I called to let her know that she had broke my phone I was not going to have her pay for it or anything I was not mad I was not going to stop coming to the salon everybody there is very nice I was not going to ask them to replace it but yet when I called I spoke with the owner and she immediately got very hostile with me then she spoke with V in Vietnamese and came back to me to tell me that she said that she never touched my phone that I am the one that broke the phone I'm the one that dropped the phone why lie? Take responsibility. There was nothing I was going to do I just wanted to let her know I thought maybe the owner would try to make the customer happy will offer me maybe a free pedicure or maybe a free design on my nails my husband owns his own business and I have seen him give an entire room of hardwood floors away including ripping up the old floor and installing the new floor which is thousands of dollars versus about $45-$55 to make a customer happy period it's called good customer service myself has had my own business I know how to make your customers happy when something may go it's not like I was asking her to replace my phone I was just letting you know that she dropped the phone and it was cracked but I didn't realise it until I walked out the door we were already on our way and already late for our engagement period then when I got home the next day I decided maybe I should just paint my nails one solid colour when I looked at my nails I realised that one of my nails has a green fungus underneath period so I'm gonna leave it at this everyone at the nail salon is very nice I have never had any problem I would have continued to go until the owner and V started getting very nasty and aggressive with me on the phone I am not judging or going to tell anyone not to go to the salon this is up to you to make your own decision I am just letting you know my experience on Saturday, June 11 or 12th 2022 I personally will never go back this is my own choice and I am not pushing it on to anyone else period thank you MM have a great day read more

This salon was the only one open due to the off season, but being in desperate need of a nail refresh I decided to give it a go! The woman doing my nails repetitively kept filling down through my nail into my skin, even after I had told her what she was doing was painful. Along with that, when she was taking my old set of acrylics off she popped them off with her nail, leaving my nail beds flaky & dismantled. I could go on & on with this experience from the color not being correct, my nails being bumpy, the horrendous customer service, & the fact that I still left unsatisfied after expressing my concerns. 10/10 do NOT recommend I wouldve preferred to keep my dusty nails than to have experienced this salon. read more

I went into Island Nails for a gel manicure, and pedicure. I sat down for my pedicure and was greeted by an older gentleman. He was very pleasant with great conversation. He did an awesome job on my feet and they look and feel great! I then had my manicure done by who I then found out was the owner Tammy. The man who did my feet was her husband. She too did a very good job with my manicure. She made sure I was satisfied and said to look it over for any mistakes and if I found any she would fix them! They both were very nice. I came in for a polish change. Did not get a whole lot of friendly, but the nails dried fine. I also think it is strange that the prices depend on "how bad your feet are". I guess they charge $10 extra for thicker heels and extra dead skin on your heels!? I came to scope it out and I think i'm good on that note. My experience was very curt and kind of rude. I will NEVER go to Island Nails to get my nails done. I came in for a fill in and the nail technician Tammy up charged me 10.00 dollars to make my nail thicker so they will not brake. I paid the extra 10.00 on top of the 17.00 dollars for a fill in ... 32.00 dollars for a fill in and nail repair. My nails looked great for about a week and then two of my nails broke off. I went to my regular nail shop to have the rest removed and that's when I realized Tammy had messed up my real nails ( I will post pictures below) . The acrylic she placed on my nails was tearing my real nails apart. On a good note Island nails does a wonderful job on waxing eyebrows that the only thing I will EVER return for. read more

I happened to be in the area and stopped by. There was an extremely long wait. My nails I feel like I could've come out much better I feel like it was more of a rush job. There were several people who are patiently waiting who walked out because of the long wait. I am undecided on if I will return. My left index finger nail is crooked. This was the fastest mani/pedi I have Ever had. Not a great job. Barely did a massage on either arms or legs. Everything was rushed and she barely said a word. The young girl that runs the front desk needs to take a class in customer service. Her tone and attitude needs to be change if she plans on working or working period. I've been here several times. I find that my gel manicures chip within a week. Most recently, I got a full set of gel nails. Within two days, one of the nails broke. When I came in to get it fixed, four people were available but they wouldn't fix it. Everyone differed to Holly, the original person who did my nails, so I had to wait until she was available. I had to catch a flight in a matter or hours for a wedding and needed to get to the airport. It was frustrating. I think I'm done here. I went here for the first time the other day and was very pleased with my experience. I was greeted and seated right away and Holly, the nail technician, was very personable. She even helped me pick out a color for my gel manicure. She worked very quickly, which I thought would equate to a sloppy manicure, but I was wrong! She said she has been doing nails for over 12 years, and boy does it show. Unfortunately, I've gone in the past and had a younger lady do a great job on my nails a couple years ago, but today was the opposite. I was in town and decided to go back. I went in the evening on Monday and it was empty. An older lady ended up coming up to do my nails. Not really warm, only talked to me to tell me "we charge and extra $10 for rounded shape and $2" for the type of gel polish I picked out (which were the only ones I was shown to choose from). I live in a big city and never pay over $50 for gel nails unless you ask for a premium packages with hand/arm massage(which didn't happen here) or designs. They basically nickel and dime you and the end product wasn't impressive. Nails are bulky and the shape isn't consistent on each nail, and polish bleeds onto my nail bed. In DC, I literally pay $36 for the short, plain gel nails I get every 2 weeks. Today I paid $52 not including the tip...or maybe she added in her own to the bill. I will not be returning. Overpriced for poor service and lackluster nails. read more

The pedicure was pretty standard. Nothing special. What was so off-putting was all the rules posted throughout the salon. Wait up front until called, use the bathroom before putting your feet in the pedicure bowl, don't talk about others, $10 extra to remove extra callous', pick out your polish before you sit down, etc. I had made an appt. before coming but when I walked in, no one acknowledged me so I sat down. As I waited, I was quickly scrolling through my phone to see if there might be another salon open on a Sunday, in the area. I had almost found somewhere else to go when they finally asked what I was there for so I stayed. Went in Mother's day for a pedicure. Have been to them before and didn't like the service provided. They are polite and professional but the work is less than desirable. I was in a hurry so I figured they can't mess up a simple pedicure. WRONG!!! This was my first visit to Island Nails and properly my last. My pedicure was good however I felt like the technician was more into a conversation with the staff instead of working on my nails. My daughter had a gel fill in and the technician burnt her in 2 different places and the only ting she said was sorry and accidents happen. Yes, I agree accident happens however that has never happened at other places. My daughter said the technician was trying to hurry and get her finished so that is why I feel she burnt my daughters finger. I will be searching for another nail salon. read more

These people were terrible!!! I went and got tips put on and just a day or 2 later they were cracking ( and i didnt hit them on anything) the paint was coming over, and they were really sore. At the bottom of all my nails were red and some even starting bleeding. I went back, just wanted them to take off the tips and paint my nails. They took them off but refused to paint them. So $37.00 was wasted. They took the tips off, but left some on. They told me " You just dont know how to take care of your nails" and " I no make you bleed, you bite." DONT EVER GO THERE!!!! August 27,2013 I went into Island Nail Spa to get my nails soaked off and to get a new set of gel nails. When entering the salon i was not greeted just rushed into what color nail polished did i want to have. The employee not even asking what type of service I was needing. The nail tech that was handling the whole process was Tammy. She then started off by saying we don't no pointy nails. My response was well thats ok i guess. I then told her that i would like to get a new set of gel nails and i would like to get my old ones soaked off. I sat down in the chair and she just disregarded what i told her i wanted. She took out some fingernail clippers and began to cut nails off rough breaking my nails that i told her i wanted to keep and even making one of my nails bed bleed. After that she then asked me could i bite one of the acrylic nails off. It was the WORST EVER!!!!!!! To top it off i got to the sink to wash my hands and there is still spots of acrylic on my nails. Her only focus was to get paid because as soon as I sat back down she asked " Would you like to pay now?" All in turn to walk out of Island Nail Spa with sore bleeding nail beds.
