Definitely not cheap, but that was some meannn oxtail! Super tender, straight melt-in-your mouth with the most flavorful sauce. The plate was HEAVY too, proper for the price. Mac salad was good and plenty rice for the sauce and meat. Jerk chicken was 'ono too but oxtail was definitely the star dish. Be prepared to fork over ~$28 bucks for it though!

A hidden spot in the industrial area. Minimal parking spaces. No dining, just take out. Small menu options. Decent pricing with big portions. We've been wanting to try this Jamaican spot for a while. - Beef patty and chicken patty - first time trying it. It was pretty good. Chicken seems like a curry flavor. It's like a big empanada with a more bready layer. - Jerk pork plate - pork was tender and flavorful. Big portion of rice. A bit oily. But very yummy. Small local business. Love to come back for their other plates.

Small family owned shop specializing in various Jamaican dishes such as Jerk Chicken, Pork, Patties. We ordered the Jamaican Beef Patty ($6.50) and Beef with Cheese Patty ($7.50). More expensive than other places, but it was on the bigger side. I thought the beef patty was really good, I've been searching for an authentic one ever since my trip to Jamaica years ago. It was spot on! Flavorful with a turmeric flaky crust. Sadly the beef and cheese barely had any cheese in it, was an extra $1. Service was nice and friendly. More of a takeout place, no tables to eat. Parking located outside in the lot. Overall I would come back whenever I'm in the mood for a mean Jamaican beef patty. Hope to try their main dishes next time!

So the location isn't great with minimal parking in an industrial setting, although no indoor or outdoor seating is available this is purely for takeout food. I found the food to be both tasty and sufficient in quantity that the jerk beef and chicken plates could be shared with two people. I ordered the Jerk Chicken was nicely seasoned while very mild was both tender and juicy, came with a ton of rice and coleslaw or pickled vegetables. Also picked up a couple of Patties one Chicken again very mild, well filled from edge to edge in a crusty possibly corn pastry. The other patty was an "impossible" beef one that more suited to my preference for spicier food. Service was quick and efficient, the interior looked clean, the food was kept hot. Some items on the menu are only available on certain days such as the curried on Saturday, which I will be going back to try. For a quick grab and go place with a Jamacan twist, I would definitely recommend it especially the patties. Unfortunately Yelp can't split stars as I felt although not a five star it deserved more than four,

If you're ever in Kaneohe and craving for some broke da mouth, soulful, stick to your ribs kind of comfort food, Island Patty is an absolute gem. It's a no frills, hole in the wall spot, but don't let that fool you! The flavors coming out of this kitchen are mayjah and anything but ordinary. I had the oxtail stew and was seriously blown away. The meat was tender, fall off the bone perfection, with a rich, savory gravy that soaked beautifully into the rice and peas. Speaking of which, the rice and peas had just the right balance of seasoning and moisture, and the cabbage added a light, tasty crunch that rounded out the plate. What really sets Island Patty apart is their portion sizes! All I have to say is, brah! They don't hold back! The plate was hefty in the best way possible (my plate could have happily fed 2-3 people), and it felt like I was getting way more than what I paid for. You can tell they put choke pride in their food here, and everything tastes like it was made with love and tradition. Whether you're familiar with Jamaican food or trying it for the first time, this spot is the definitely worth a try. Can't wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu. Highly recommend! Aunty that owns this place is very sweet as well!

The beef patty, a staple of Jamaican cuisine. Jerk stewed then pureed beef baked in a turmeric seasoned butter flaky crust. Take a bite and you'll be covered in flaky crumbs before your taste buds are overwhelmed with aromatic spices and the signature scotch bonnet warmth. That's what it should be so??? WARNING: DO NOT EAT THE PATTY FRESH FROM THE STORE. EVEN IF THEY ARE HOT, THEY ARE NOT COOKED! (Yes, i made the mistake. Yuck!!!) Would have been nice if someone at the eatery said something. Take them home, and bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes. The crust will puff and become flaky. After proper cooking, hot, flaky crust with a flavorful, clove forward filling lacking the all important scotch bonnet pepper taste. All good, a few slices of a raw one and it makes the flavor complete. Various fillings including chicken, cheese and even plant based protein on offer. Larger plates like jerk chicken, braised oxtails, and goat stew on offer. This review will be updated after sampling those. Note: Oxtail and goat available Thursday to Saturday and might not be ready close to opening. Call (you know, the screen on your smartphone with all the numbers). Great small business vibe. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I found this little eatery. Located in beautiful Kaneohe, I asked for a recommendation, and the owner told me she would recommend the oxtail stew, and boy was she right! The meat was fall off the bone, tender, very well seasoned. It was paired with some dirty rice, some cabbage, and these little pillows of potatoes, almost like gnocchi. My pro tip would be go off hours. There are only three parking stalls although you can find street parking. This place is a little gem for sure. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Jamaican cuisine in Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawaii... Right across from Windward Mall, in the industrial area of Kaneohe, I saw a bright green sign for a new business: Island Patty. Curious, I parked in one of the free shared stalls in front of Kaneohe Laundromat and walked into the cozy shop. Perusing the menu, I chose the Beef Patty and the Pork Plate. It's a takeout only place, so, I took my meal home to enjoy. I liked the Beef Patty a lot. It's kind of like an empanada, The crust was warm and flakey... Best to consume right away. The Jerk pork plate was ok. The sides that came with it: a coleslaw-type of salad and the flavored rice that had a few beans in it - were better than the jerk pork - because the pork chunks could have been more tender and flavorful. Service was welcoming and efficient. I'd go back because it's convenient and different. I want to try the vegan cheese patty next!

Delicious Jamaican food in Kaneohe, what a treat! I've been here several times and it's always a hit. Jerk chicken seasoned and spiced deliciously, generous portions, rice and slaw are also delicious. Their patties are also great! Dough freshly made in house from scratch. Staff is friendly and very welcoming and I'm happy to support this local small business. They bring ingredients and spices straight from Jamaica to ensure you're getting the best and most authentic flavors. 10/10, would return and recommend

Wow--we normally love oxtail but because it's Wednesday the stew wasn't available. Nevertheless, the owner was very generous about the portions. I loved the vinger flavor on the cabbage and my partner loved the homemade habanero spicy sauce (she even gave a little cute spoon with it!). It's hot and flavorful --which we added to the pork patty (also huge and delicious with some fatty portions). The spices were evident and just the right amount. The jerk chicken platter was also so big that with two people we couldn't finish all our food but we are definitely saving it for later. If you ever want to try Jamaican food, this is definitely a place to start--plus the service is incredibly kind. It's not located in a super busy area and there's some other small stores with limited parking.

Outstanding Jamaican food! I bought a wide spread of patties, coco bread, and meats along with rice and veggies to a pot luck. While Jamacian food is not widespread on the island, I wanted to share this new experience and flava. Michelle(owner) was kind and welcoming to help me order the right amount of food and EVERYTHING tasted so good. The jerk seasoning had some heat but not overly spicy and all the kids fought over the coco bread. Super happy with my first experience at Island Patty and highly recommend to anyone looking to try something new for lunch or dinner. Don't sleep on Island Patty! read more

Clean little shop with really nice people working at the counter and kitchen. I'm always comparing beef patties with the ones I've had in Brooklyn. Island Patty's beef patties are on point!!! Really yummy. More meat and not too much breading. Just the way I like it. We also tried the jerk chicken and jerk pork. We couldn't decide on which one to get and they were nice enough to let us mix it. Their jerk chicken and pork with rice and peas were really good. Not dry or burnt and the just the right amount of kick. We will definitely be coming back again. read more

Each patty is handmade with care, and has a perfect balance of savory beef and pepper. The portions are generous; if you purchase a beef patty and coco bread on the mainland, they are barely half the size of what Island Patty serves. The jerk chicken is a flavor explosion, and comes with hearty portions of rice/beans and salad. Get there early if you want oxtail. The service is friendly, attentive, and diligent. It warms my heart to have high quality Jamaican food served by high quality people in Kaneohe. I hope they stay a long time. I come in every weekend that I am in the neighborhood. read more

This place has a decent jerk pork on the island. Not something I would crave, but it's much better than my jerk pork. I have had much better jerk pork and chicken on the mainland though. Sides and rice are not too good in my opinion. It's decently okay. read more

Best patty's I've had outside of Jamaica. I lived in Kingston, Jamaica (same place as the owner Michelle is from) and eaten plenty of patty's. I bought 2 jerk pork and 2 beef for our dinner. Great crust texture, nicely spiced (jerk had a little bit, beef pretty calm). These are right up there with the best from the Devon House Bakery in Kingston. I'll definitely be going back. read more

Try go earlier in the day! I called at 5pm asking if they still had beef patties left because I knew they closed at 6. I got there 17 minutes later and they were all gone... I got a chicken curry patty instead. It was pretty good but I def would've preferred beef. read more

I was very excited to find Jamaican food on Oahu after all these years. They were worth the wait. They did not disappoint. It's not a restaurant but the place is clean, and the staff are awesome. The best food experience thus far on the island ‼ Small, clean, and welcoming from the time we entered. We ordered oxtail stew, Jerk chicken, and Beef Patties. Everything was amazing, but her Oxtails were the best that I have ever had. My Husband and Daughter had the same sentiment. If you want some good comfort food go try Island Patty out. There is no where to dine in and parking can be a little crowded. read more

Interesting little shop in an unexpected location. First noticed this place as I was leaving Pans kitchen. Decided to try it out with the kids one day. The beef patty with cheese was delicious. Tasty and great texture in the pastry. The jerked pork plate was tender and tasty. My son ate it all. The food is good but the prices are a few dollars to high to make this place really great. Maybe as they get more people prices will drop. Not sure that ever happened by you never know. I'll go back for the beef patty primarily since it is good and the value is closer in line with my wallet. read more

Great place to grab a jaimiacan patty on the go! the jaimiacan lady at the counter was super nice! she had just pulled out some fresh coconut bread fresh out the oven and it looked delicious so definitely had to get a piece, it tasted like hawaiian bread but not as sweet which was perfect! I got the beef n cheese and a jerk chicken patty, both were good but the beef n cheese was delicious it had so much flavor and the perfect amount of spice! she told me in jaimiaca they put the patty in the coconut bread and eat it like a sandwich, sounds bomb! all in all I'm no patty expert but these were top notch in my book! I'm still wondering why we don't have a place like this in Southern California hmmm may have to think about that some more maybe a business plan in the near future and maybe the nice jaimiacan lady can consult for me! you never know what the future holds! read more

Authentic Jamaican food at it's best. Incredible flavors and outstanding service. Along with wonderful stories. In a small and cozy spot This is defiantly going to be a regular stop for my family and me. Looking forward to the curry goat on Saturdays. And I can't wait to try the cocobread and the jerk chicken which were sold out when I was there. So much aloha I felt like I was part of the family. This place is relatively new in Kaneohe and I'm glad I finally had a chance to try the jerk pork plate which came with beans and rice and coleslaw and let me tell you how moist and flavorful with the right amount of heat and I mean scotch bonnet pepper heat in the meat and not to mention the beans and rice with coleslaw was just delicious, I also tried the cheese and beef patty which was delicious as well no joke! and I tried what I think they called the coco bread and that is just a plain looking baked bread but let me tell you that this bread is addicting and would be perfect with hot cocoa or coffee with butter. I also tried the non alcoholic ginger beer and that had a strong ginger taste which I really enjoyed. I'm very happy to have found a Jamaican food eatery with delicious food in Kaneohe and I highly recommend this place. Give it a try. You might be surprised in a good way like I was. Aloha read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the lady makes all the food homemade and its a great to go option! We had the vegan option and the chicken option. They look just like empanadas! Overall quick and easy experience and fairly cheap for what you get! read more

The beef patty was just like l remember from Jamaica, but pricier. My husband thought the pork jerk was a little too spic, it I think that's just him. Great to have the experience in Kaneohe. Will certainly go again. Give it a try, cheaper than a trip to Jamaica. Enjoy. read more

It is pretty large as you could order Breakfast from open to Close at 2 PM. From simple Eggs, Rice, & Meat; Omelets, Pancakes & Waffles, to Plate Lunches, Sandwiches, and fresh Fruits and Desserts. On the Menu, some are marked as Popular Dishes, like mines Hapa Loco Moco Bowl: Hamburger patty and Corned Beef Hash Patty in Loco Moco form. Since it is covered in gravy and the egg, you only can tell the meat is cutting into or looking for it while eating. I'm glad Mac Salad or other sides are Ala Carte or sold separately because I was stuffed after eating it. Service was awesome! Staff was nice and friendly. I saw one was willing to talk story to a table who was asking about the Business'History. Only complaint and drop a Star is Beverage Refills. While family got Coffee refills, I vaguely remember Water refills and more important was my Drink (Raspberry Iced Tea) even though it was a Big cup, no one checked if I wanted more. (I would have taken 1/2 glass full towards the end or topped off depending when they asked.) 2nd time here, if it wasn't a family outing and good time the first time, I would only return if the fam wants to come here again for Brunch/Lunch after we pay our respects to family at Valley of the Temple the nearby Cemetery.

You order and pay at the counter and they will bring you the food; the lady at the counter was extremely friendly and very efficient. You need to bus your own table when you're done, just place the used dishes, glasses and utensils in the labeled plastic tubs, not a big deal at all. Now, the food is the star. We order baba ganoush with pita, super gyro with zucchini fries, and a soup and salad combo. The baba ganoush was so delicious, and the pita was warm and soft. The super gyro has so much yummy meat in it that the pita can hardly hold them, and the zucchini fries were crispy and not oily. It also comes with a couple really good tzatziki sauces. My wife really enjoyed the avgolemono (lemon and chicken) soup and greek salad. She was so pleased with the combo that she had to order an extra takeout combo for her friend to try. On top of all that, we finished our great meal with a baklava sundae; two fresh crispy baklava pastries with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with cinnamon and honey. This desert is a must order. The restaurant is mixed in with a lot of other restaurants and shops in a large strip mall, so it maybe easy to miss. The environment was calm and the lady who was there was super friendly as well! I'd be back all the time if I didn't live so far!
