Good pizza. The crust is a little thick and messy at times but it's still enjoyable. Recommend going here if you're ever in town.

Easy walk down the hill from where we are staying. Ordered 1/2 sausage + 1/2 ham and pineapple, extra sauce and add chicken to go. 45" wait for order. The sauce was good, sure glad we ordered extra. Crust was a wee bit tough and there was no pineapple. I was bummed and too lazy to walk back down and back up the hill again. They were super busy with dine in customers so that's a good thing. Pasta wasn't on the menu but when I went to pick up my pizza I saw it on the board. Will try that next visit. Edited with 2nd visit: Had the lasagna and got my grandson the Mac and cheese pizza. All were good, nothing fabulous. I did get a couple of cup cakes and they were fabulous! In fact so good I went back and got more to take home to Montana with me. We are staying at the World Mark next door and we're pleasantly surprised that a pizza place opened up since we've been here last! Turns out, they JUST opened...as in 2 days ago. We brought our 8 month old and walked down the hill. The restaurant is cute inside, with a chalkboard menu highlighting their available pizzas, beer, wine, etc. the view of Deer Harbor is great. We both got beers and we ordered the focaccia bread and the sausage pizza. The beer was presented in frosty glasses. The focaccia had a good flavor but it was served cold. The sausage pizza was delicious! The owner came over and told us about the infused oils on the table--I put the shallot oil on my pizza and it was great! The chef came to our table and explained that they make the dough for both pizza and bread from scratch, and that you can order the crust to your desired thickness even though it isn't specified on the menu. Both the owner and the chef were very pleasant. There were two young servers, maybe their children (?) who were extremely polite yet seemed a little nervous. Clearly this place is still brand new, and they'll become more confident in time! My only complaint is that they didn't have real plates to eat off of--instead we got parchment paper. Maybe that was just because of the newness of the restaurant, or maybe it was on purpose. The bread was fine, the pizza was great, and the service was friendly. Deer Harbor doesn't really have any other places to eat, so we were really happy with it! Sure beats a 20 min drive into Eastsound when you have a baby and bedtime is drawing near. I hope yo eat here again the next time we are on the island! read more

Island pie- excellent dinner but overpriced. We had pepperoni pizza, the squash pizza (amazing), lasagne and a salad- that with a glass of wine put us over 80 bucks. Kids played checkers with the game available. Clean and friendly place, beautiful harbor view. Worthwhile and fun dinner spot and great for families. read more

I'd like to make an update to my review. We didn't get pizza this time around but we did have a few salads to go with the meat we were grilling next door. Great salads although portion could be a bit bigger but that's our fault for not asking about it before ordering. Great customer service . Maybe next time we will give the pizza another try. After my initial visit of this location, I blabbed about it to my boyfriend non-stop! I finally managed to drag him (and our dog) through 3 hours of car and ferry travel to enlighten him. We showed up just as the restaurant was opening, and the owners were incredibly welcoming. We were able to choose seating right by the window to catch the early sunset, and enjoy some of that amazing Villa Wolf rosé wine that I raved out in my first review. The owners noticed we had our dog, and lent us a water bowl while he waited in our car. Our first appetizer was, of course, the salmon mini pizza! My boyfriend quickly understood what I'd been going on about, the pizza was gone in a matter of minutes between the two of us. For the main course, we ordered four different pizza flavors from the menu: The Sausage, White Pizza, Ham and Pineapple, and Cheesie Goodness. We were blown away by all of them (the shallots on The Sausage are AMAZING), but specifically noted that the Ham and Pineapple used Kauai Sugarloaf - the owners educated us on this white pineapple, which is softer and far less tart than traditional yellow pineapple. It was delicious! Each of the flavors was deemed our "new favorite," and we were lucky enough to have a leftovers to take home and enjoy the morning after! While we dined, we noticed how many people came in and were clearly recognized as regulars - the owners knew many patrons by name as well as what they were likely to order. By the time we left, the place was packed! The owners stopped by before we left to thank us for coming, which we felt was a sweet personal touch despite both of them serving tables and preparing food. My boyfriend and I had to leave early to make our 3-hour trip home, and we spent the entire time echoing each others' compliments and comments about how full we were. We've been to Deer Harbor twice, and this restaurant four times. The pizzas and salads are amazing and the service is great! They have gluten-free and vegan options, and have the best gluten-free pizza I have ever had!! I can't wait to come back next time we're here. read more

Yum! Couldn't have asked for a better take and bake pie then the one Margaret made for us. We drove over from Rosario and didn't want to eat a cold pie for dinner when we got back. My husband and I stumbled here on our first night in Orcas because it was right next to our timeshare. We loved chatting with the owners Margret and Robert. They gave us so much information about the island. And of course, the food was excellent. The cheese pizza was delicious, it had 4 different types of cheese and was tastier than I expected. We went back a second night for dessert and wine. The bread pudding was outstanding. Possibly the best we've had. We came in early January so the sunset was around 4 pm (well before we came to eat) we are already planning a summer trip back to Orcas and we are looking forward to sitting on their patio and looking out over the ocean. read more

Wow! Island Pie is the best restaurant we've enjoyed during a three week visit to the San Juan Islands! It was nearly impossible to choose from the variety of pizza, salads and pastas. Island Pie was an unexpected surprise! My husband's pizza was a traditional, delicate, thin crust topped with a zesty, housemade tomato sauce. Questa è una vera pizza Napoletana!!! My lasagne was delicious and served with a beautiful garden salad tossed with just the right amount of dressing. We really appreciated the attention to detail while still being in a lovely, relaxed setting. The view of the harbor across the street only adds to the ambiance and the vibe feels like an impromptu gathering of family and friends. The service was attentive and the wine list holds a few treasures worth exploring. Dinner here was the perfect start to our vacation! If we lived here, we'd be regulars! read more

All around great place. Friendly folks. For some reason, my family did not care for the pizza. The thin crust was yummy, but they did not like the meat, cheese topping combo. I had the beet salad and mushrooms. I thought they were OK, but the mushrooms were not as roasted as "promised" via other reviews and the salad needed a little something. I just returned from this new pizza spot with great expectations and can tell you this is a restaurant of two stories. The upside is a stellar unmatched view in D Harbor. If only this had been matched by the food and service. First the food. The pizza has a decent crust with good bite but the ingredients are middle of the road...at best. Borderline pre-frozen tasting. And the service? I liked our young female server but she should be starring in The Cannabis Waitress series. I mean how hard is it to bring a glass of wine to the table in less than 30 minutes? Our also group ordered a beet salad and a kale salad. And each came about 20 minutes after the pizzas -- no "sorry for the wait". No explanation. Nada. Then....the surreal checkout. No, oddly can't pay at the table. Gotta go inside and stand in line. Not just a short line. A line of four people. So spend another 15 minutes to pay your bill. Hope they get it together. I really am picky when it comes to pizza. After reading most of the reviews, we were looking forward to the pizza. We had a half and half - sausage and pepperoni with added olives and mushrooms. The crust was very good (5star). The ingredients were fresh. However the biggest disappointment was the sauce. There was very little sauce leaving the pie very dry. We couldn't make out any flavor of the sauce as a result. Maybe this is a once-off error. Recommend they put much more sauce on the pie. I bet it's very good sauce! read more

A great salad and pizza restaurant located across the street from the Deer Harbor Marina. It is wonderful to have a nice dining option here. The pizza crust was wonderful with nice crispness (not doughy) and a sprinkling of corn meal on the bottom. We had the seasonal squash pizza which was delicious. Pizza with no size. Every pizza is made with the same amount of dough and 8 pieces. You request the thickness you desire. The sauce and dough are distinct, with the dough being slightly dense (we ordered regular thickness). The sauce was full of flavor, something that is a requirement for me. This pizza is my favorite in the state. Can't wait to come back......Also, the beer prices are very reasonable, with a variety of micro-brews. A fun restaurant, in a beautiful spot, with great service. Robert was very cordial and spent time at our table conversing. He lives at the marina, so he stopped by our boat the next day to say hello. A must stop if you are near Deer Harbor. Heck, take the ferry over and enjoy the beach/marina. Well worth it! read more

We were just there on Friday night. We stayed at Worldmark so it was nice to just walk over. When we first arrived we thought it was "pie" not "PIE!" We had the White Pizza with basil chipotle, chicken and onions. It was SOOO GOOD! The crust was thing and crisp. I am 8 months pregnant and that pizza made my weekend. It took everything in me not to eat there the rest of the weekend. The pizza cost us about $30 which is fine because of the quality and it being island priced. My only complaint was that the large was more like a medium. My husband and I finished it easily. I can't imagine sharing another pizza with kids and paying another $30. Plus, it should be bigger because it was amazing. Courteous service and a cute environment. Seriously one of the best pizzas I have ever had. We will be back! read more

Island Pie was steps away from where we were staying so we ordered food for pickup one night. The pepperoni/bacon pizza was AMAZING!! It had a layer of bacon, then pepperoni, then cheese over all of it. I must say it was probably the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had. A huge bonus is that they offer their pizzas with GF crusts, which was also very delicious. When we picked up our food the mushroom bolognese pasta dish we ordered was not made with GF pasta, so we were fine with eating our pizza on their deck while we waited for the pasta dish to be remade. The deck is lovely, although a bit cramped under the tent since it was raining and the two other tables conversion across the way with each other was extremely loud and unpleasant for us as we practically had to shout to be able to hear each other over them (no fault of Island Pie). The lovely woman working that day was so nice as to include a GF flourless chocolate cake dessert on them due to the mix up with our pasta order. We took the pasta and dessert back to our condo and the dessert was delicious! I enjoyed it thoroughly. The pasta was not to our taste as the noodles were a bit on the mushy side unfortunately, but the pizza and dessert more than made up for it and we will be back every time we visit Orcas island. read more

My husband and I are at Deer Harbor on our boat. We love the marina, and now even more so after discovering Island Pie. The owners serve the highest quality ingredients in creative and delicious salads, pizzas and desserts. Combined with a more than adequate beer and wine list, and you've got a real gem on Orcas Island -- for which boaters are very grateful! This isn't your usual pizza joint -- it's way beyond that with pizza done as it should be; perfect crust, excellent toppings kept to a minimum so nothing detracts from the overall flavors. We'll be back tomorrow and on every trip to Deer Harbor from now on! And the staff are excellent and obviously love what they're doing. You will too! read more
