It's on the side of the road near some apartments so there isn't really a place to sit and eat, but it's right by the beach so you can take it to go there. We had the smoked maminha tri-tip steak, Okinawa purple sweet potato, grilled maui onion and broccolini. Beautifully plated on real plates and silverware. No comparison to the so many common $21 food truck entrees and cost just a little more. The owner also is very sociable and enjoys talking about this food in a variety of languages with passers by and customers. On the far end from main entrance to the Kihei Food Oasis, or right at the other entrance, depending on how you enter. I wish we had found it earlier or we would have eaten there more than once!

I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

As you can see in the picture, all meat and almost nothing else. Maybe a few silvers of cabbage. But where's the goat cheese and the fig jam?!? We also got the ALOHA TOTS.
