I almost always have great service here at the bar. There is one server who is a joy, super positive, and a shining light. Today I came in just when she was getting off & another took over. I waited for at least 20 minutes & she did not come to my table. Did she not see me ? Did she have tunnel vision ? I ended up leaving. Oh wow! I'm genuinely surprised how good the service and food here. Ordered the Hawaiian Burger and the Chicken tortilla Soup. The Hawaiian Burger here is better than the Habit. Soooo goood! Stopped in for lunch while at a conference, the location is perfect for conference attendees as it is right across the street from the conference center. We were seated immediately and the server came to check on us frequently. I had the Kaanapali Kobb salad and my colleague had the baja bowl with chicken. Our food was average, presentation wasn't great and there wasn't much chicken in either of out meals but for a quick bite between sessions it was fine. We liked that the menu had bowls but our broccoli (and onion) was mostly raw. Good for burgers.

We were seated at a dirty table. When a staff member came to clean it she used a dirty towel and basically just pushed the crumbs and lettuce pieces around the table. We had to ask for napkins to wipe the table ourselves. The ketchup bottle was completely empty so we asked for a new one. The waiter brought one by without a label at all and it seemed dirty/greasy on the outside. I was so grossed out I had to ask for a few ketchup packets. They probably should order some new ketchup bottles. Our waiter never checked on us. Never asked how our food was. Was basically MIA. THE ONLY REASON I gave this place 2 stars is because the food wasn't terrible. My burger which I ordered medium was closer to well-done but I was over it at that point. Would recommend some other Islands locations for sure. read more

We went here last weekend. Service was pretty good- the server didn't know some of the answers to our questions which was surprising and a little disappointing but she earned back my favor when she brought me another water at just the time I needed it, without me asking. The tempura green bean appetizer is a very generous serving and they were tasty, though the spicy BBQ sauce that came with it was a little puzzling of a choice. My sister and I ordered the Kobb salad and she didn't receive any dressing and no one came for a long time for her to ask for it, so she used the leftover BBQ sauce from the green beans and thought that was delicious. Everyone liked the fries they got- I got the sweet potato ones and they didn't look appealing at all but were actually quite yummy and crispier than they looked. I liked how cold my Kobb salad was- it was very refreshing! We were surprised that the Kobb and the Chop Chop salads were almost the exact same except one had cucumber added and they had different cheeses and dressings and yet the fried chicken chopped one had less calories than the Kobb with chilled grilled chicken. My parents loved their sandwiches- the Moa Crisp which is chicken and the Moa Kai which is tuna. The menu has something for everyone, and the music was fun, seating pretty comfortable, and overall it's a fun place for a family dinner! read more

Definitely your typical Island's establishment. We sat at the bar and staff was friendly and fast service. It was a little noisy but expected because of the football game. The food was delicious nothing outstanding but the steak was cooked perfectly. You never can go wrong with cheese fries. I love them and did I say I love them. Trying to find a restaurant to eat at on the Long Beach Boardwalk today in the midst of the Pandemic, proved to challenging. After trying SIX restaurants with 2-3 hours wait, we tried Islands as the LAST RESORT. We only had to wait 15 minutes for a table!the patio is lovely, with comfortable seats. Ordered the spinach dip for an apetizer, which was really good. If you love pepper like we do, I highly recommend the Kilauea burger. It checks all the boxes with flavor and the right amount of black pepper spice. It's a shame we don't have one of these in Northern California. read more

Stopped in after a long day of travel, excited to try a couple options we had read on menu. Waiter repeated back order so I know he had it correct. I have a cheese allergy so I had asked for no cheese on soup. Soup immediately came out with cheese all over it, so had to ask for another bowl. Then, food came out. My 2 kids are not picky by any means and left their entire stack of fries... which I found odd. My kids NEVER leave fries, so I had to try them. Cold, no seasoning, clearly had been sitting there. They were disgusting. For main meal, I had ordered a rice bowl, which came out laying in a pool of water with undercooked rice. It appeared that water hadn't been drained from beans or water not absorbed into rice. So it was rice and other ingredients laying in an inch of water. I could not tell you the last time I sent back a dish, let alone 2, in the same meal- so this was a first and I was embarassed asking but it was absolutely inedible. 2 stars only because my husband's fish tacos were good, our drinks were yummy and when I re-ordered the chicken tacos they were marginally better than the rice bowl. Now we know to choose one of the many other great options in Long Beach when visiting! read more

You can't go wrong with Islands. The burgers are delicious and the fries are always perfect. Paired with their ranch dressing and I'm in burger/fry heaven. My friends and I came in here after a long day at the Aquarium and we were starving. They sat us right away and we had the best server...very attentive...and brought us refills without even having to ask. I always get the Maui burger and this time did not disappoint. Their chicken sandwiches are the best for when you aren't in the mood for an actual burger. Plenty of choices for everyone and the ambiance is always fun and upbeat. I'm so bummed bc I never really post about bad food, because I don't want it to effect the employees working there! Before I go ahead, our server was 10/10! Very kind, helpful and no problems there. I ordered the China Coast salad & when it arrived at my table, it was literally a soup of dressing with lettuce on top (see photo), another person at our table ordered a salad too & same thing. A literal soup inside the salad Also didn't get some of our items and it was still on our bills but it seemed like we were being shooed out so we just paid for the items we didn't get regardless. Anyways, throwing up today from that meal! :( Not sure what there gave me food poisoning but super bummed because I've always loved islands since I was a kid! Placed a take out order after leaving the Long Beach aquarium. After leaving, we noticed the order was wrong. Which is not a huge deal. But I called to get refunded as my spouse could not eat what was given because of dietary restrictions. The manager Juana gave the a run around never actually giving a refund for an order that was incorrect. Said would call me the next day to resolve the issue and never did. I called back days later and spoke to another manager. Just simply wanting a refund, because of their mistake. However that still wasn't done. I called corporate to get the issue resolved they apologized repeatedly and said would have the regional manger call me to resolve this issue. And of course no call from the regional manager. Some of the worst customer service I have ever received. No accountability. read more

I only saw the server twice, once to get our order and the other time to deliver the check. I actually had to ask the hostess for our check because the server was MIA. Tacos were great! then the kona pie came and....it was almost foamy for being melty and it literally fell apart within a minute of being brought to the table.
