Yesterday, Italia on the Road hosted my daughter's bridal shower for 20 guests. This is my first time using a catering service so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, everything went so well, I can't recommend them enough. They helped me find the best location in the backyard to setup, prepared their food in their truck and set up everything elegantly. The service was friendly and professional. The food was delicious. My guests kept complimenting them to me even the day after the event. We had a full charcuterie and cheese board, bruschetta with different toppings, skewers, two kinds of pastas, and both tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. Italia On the Road also brought Siciliana sodas to complement the Italian themed food. People really loved it. One guest commented that she just came back from Italy and the food she had over there wasn't as good as what she had yesterday. Another said the tiramisu was the best she's ever had. They stopped by my apartment complex this past weekend and I was lucky enough to give it a try. It was honestly great and I was surprised to see that they have a unique presentation of a dish that I am very familiar with already. They have many great options on the menu, but we chose the pizza pocket because it sounded unique and it's similar to how I eat a slice of pie anyway. We chose the pepperoni pocket and thought it was fantastic. All the flavors were well balanced, and it was a good sized portion. It also came with a side salad and overall, we just really enjoyed it. It was also made very fast so we did not have to wait very long and the staff was very friendly. Being that it is a food truck they did not really have a seating area, but it was already at my apartment so I was just getting to go. I would definitely recommend and if I see them again, I will certainly give it another try. read more

I stopped here after I'd seen them on Google Maps and was curious to try them out; after calling to confirm their location, I walked over after work to grab some tasty food and they did not disappoint. They serve fresh pasta and their ingredients are straight from Italy, so that's why the prices are equivalent to sit-down prices. These kind of dishes, with the fresh pasta, must be eaten right away because they are delicious What I got: - Tagliatelle Ragù alla Bolognese: House-made pasta with house-made ragú sauce with ground beef, pork, Italian red wine and italian tomatoes. Simmered slowly to develop a deep and savory flavor. $18 This was so delicious, flavourful, and - most importantly for me - filling! I absolutely recommend getting this. The portion of pasta to Bolognese was just perfect - I managed to get a bunch of it with every bite. This is it - if there's one dish you get, make it this one! - Ravioli Ricotta & Spinaci con Burro e Salvia - Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli with butter and sage: Our hand-made Ravioli are filled with a blend of fresh spinach, creamy ricotta cheese, and a hint of nutmeg and lemon zest for added depth of flavor. Served with a simple yet delicious butter and sage sauce. $18 I was really craving brown butter and sage, but sadly this left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't get this if you're looking for that deep brown butter, fresh sage, and ricotta flavouring. It fell flat for me; didn't get any hint of nutmeg or lemon zest unfortunately. - COPPA ALLA NUTELLA: A luscious and velvety dessert made with layers of Nutella mousse and cookie crumbs, topped with whipped cream and Nutella sauce. $8 Absolutely loved this; it's Nutella and you cna't really go wrong with it, especially when paired with whipped cream. The couple who run this are very kind; I believe the guy is from Rome. Since they are a food truck, it took maybe less than 10 minutes for everything to be prepared; there's an additional service fee for use Square/card, so just be aware of that. Given where they are, I walked, but parking can be tricky; if you must, park at Pike Outlets or on PIne and walk tothem. If you want, you can sit and eat at the park nearby, or walk towards the Convention Centre, or even the beach! I do recommend this place, but keep in mind the prices, the need to eat the food right away (because it's all fresh), and the service charge for card transactions - they are worth the splurge! I'm excited to come back and try their other dolcis (desserts) and pasta dishes, especially Tagliatelle alla Crema di Funghi (Tagliatelle with Mushrooms Cream Sauce) and the Gnocchi Gorgonzola, Speck & Noci (Gnocchi with Blue Cheese, Speck and Walnuts). The staff was helpful and very friendly, the truck looked inviting and had some tunes playing whilst you waited. Now for the food! - espresso: good and creamy. Not burnt, but the beans were a bit lacking in flavor. Well made but I prefer a bean with more character - gnocchi gorgonzola: this is my second trying gnocchi and it was much better than the first. Nice chewy and thick pieces. The sauce complimented it well but I would have preferred a thicker sauce that was a bit less salty - barbie movie special: lack of flavor and odd texture with the beetroot. Im so glad my coworker got this and not me. - pistachio dessert: nice custardy dessert that isnt too sweet with a hint of pistachio. They came to our area last night. I ordered lasagna- because that's how I rate an Italian place. It was okay-ish. Noodles were soggy- definitely not al dente. There was only one discernible layer of cheese within the lasagna... the sauce had a consistency of runny refried beans, so I am assuming there was some kind of cheese within there as well? I don't usually do reviews, but this food was AMAZING! Had the penne al pesto, which came with 2 pieces of fresh bread, caprese-like salad, and fresh Parmesan cheese. The flavors were vibrant, the presentation was beautiful, and the portions were perfect. For dessert, we had the coppa alla nutella and the coppa alla pistacchio. They came in cute reusable jars and tasted so sweet and rich. I don't have pictures because I didn't intend to do a review, but the experience was 10/10. They've come to my apartment complex three times and I've had the opportunity to try their eggplant parmesan, gnocchi, and their ravioli. I met Angelo and his wife Solene,nicest couple ever, he's from Rome. So I ordered ravioli, FRESH PASTA! Got home with it, Omg so delicious, portions were perfect, flavors were incredible. The next time I went and ordered eggplant parmigiana, now my nana was from Calabria, the best eggplant parmigiana ever, this was just as good if not better, she's probably screaming from the heavens right now, I will deal with that later. I never would expect a food truck to be able to have fresh pasta and delicious homemade sauces. I had eggplant parmesan and she had the Bolognese Alla Tagliatelle Pasta, and the homemade Sorento Al Limone dessert was a great finish to a wonderful meal.
