This family owned pizza place is amazing! The owner is a couple and they offer the best service. The food is authentic and delicious, and reasonably priced. The pizza is made fresh so there is a bit of a wait, around 10 to 15 minutes. The only downside is the place does not have AC, so it can get warm in the summer. read more

Tried this place for the first time last night. The main employee, maybe owner or manager?, was very nice to us. We ordered the pasta lover coupon special and I ordered an additional pasta for my family of four. Pasta special was 2 pastas, 2 salads, and garlic bread for $20. Next time we will just order this because there was plenty of pasta for 2 adults and 2 kids we took home about 1/3 of each home. Tortellini with Ham, mushrooms and peas: 4.5 stars. Family enjoyed this one the most. Tortellini a bit too overcooked and texture too soft for my taste. Spinach Ravioli: 6 big ravioli in marinara cream sauce: 3 stars, kinda pass for us. Wife wished the sauce was absorbed into the ravioli and felt like it was too doughy. I like the marinara cream sauce though Seafood Special: 3.5 stars. Linguine with clams, shrimp, celery, onions, not sure what else. I asked if it was in a white sauce because I was craving some white clam sauce, but over the phone white and wine probably sound similar. It was in a wine sauce/brothy sauce and smelled like straight up ocean. Tasted much better when I added the alfredo sauce or marinara cream to it. Garlic Bread: 3 stars. Nothing to brag about. Overall, kids ate the tortellini and were happy. Good meal that hit the spot. Friendly service. Will want to try other pastas, pizza or pizza dough panini another time. read more

Support your neighborhood pizzeria! I remember ordering from Italian Express when I was a kid. I believe they've been in business for around 20 years and you can definitely tell why. This spot has solid pizza at great prices. You can get a gigantic specialty pizza for around $20. I went half and half (half Pesto Chicken/half Deluxe) and it was absolutely delicious. The sauce used in the Deluxe is very flavorful and the toppings were plentiful. The pesto chicken pizza was also solid. Loved it! Delivery is only $2 within a certain radius. Italian Express has been in Tustin for so many years. It's a great go-to place for a quick and delicious lunch. I recommend their pizza. I usually get a pepperoni with mushrooms. They use sliced mozzarella cheese and it provides a different experience when you bite into the pizza slice. Staff is super friendly. read more

I originally gave Italian Express 4 stars. See my previous review. However, after visiting at least 6 more times, I have to give Italian Express that missing star. Every meal here has been fantastic. The customer service is fantastic - ALWAYS friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The owners WILL remember you! The food is not only delicious, but also extremely consistent. I usually order the same 2-3 dishes and have yet to notice any discrepancies. It's never been overcooked, too salty, etc. And how can you beat the lunch special? For under $9, you can stuff yourself with a drink, AYCE salad bar, and home-cooked Italian food. Totally underrated. Definitely one of my top lunch spots. read more

Since we are in quarantine my family wanted to support a small business, and I'm glad we chose Italian express. We ordered 3 gigantic pizzas and a personal lasagna. The pizza was delicious. It's thin crust, I don't see an option to change the crust to a thicker one, but the flavor is good. We all enjoyed the food. I haven't eaten from this place since I was a kid and I remember it being so good. They have no contact delivery which is nice and I was able to order online without a problem. This is definitely our favorite pizza place in Tustin/Orange -- they are amazing! Like the first time, ever since we passed by and saw this location, we've been dying to try them out. This was our second time ordering take out and everything went smoothly. Love the thin crust and that delivery is always on point ... and they are dog friendly, as our little one ran out to "greet" the driver when they arrived (sorry!). The pictures on Yelp do not do this mom and pop shop any justice, but the proof is in the product. I usually get their pasta which, in my opinion is a good portion size. To elaborate, most places give a lot of pasta. Problem is, I tend to finish it. Italian Express has a portion size that I find satisfying enough, but not stuffed.. I'm fine with that (need to lose some weight afterall).. Others may find it too small.. Funny story: I finally got around to ordering their pizza, half veggie and half cheese. At home, the family sits down to eat, I take 2 veggie slices, and open up a packet of red crushed peppers.. I sprinkle it over the pizza, and it's red specs (salt size) pour out. I thought, I guess the flakes were really crushed.. The taste was good, but something was really tart, I thought maybe it was the chopped tomatoes.. I mention it to the wife, and she says it's not tart at all. At that same instant, I saw she had these little cups of red crush peppers and parmesan cheese.. Hmm so what's this packet I put on my pizza? Turns out it was a Tajin Classico Seasoning. One of my girls brought it home from school and left it on the table!! The tartness was the lime/spice seasoning!! Overall, the pizza was very good, very thin crust NY style pizza.. Unfortunately, my taste buds were skewed from this tart lime packet! Will definitely have another opportunity to try it again in the future (pizza that is, not the Tajin seasoning). ;) read more

All the food we bought was bland. The garlic bread was hard on the edges, so hard it was not edible. You can tell the chicken parmigiana was fried in oil that was not clean; It also was rubbery as if it was microwaved. So disappointing. read more
