This is such a great place. We don't come as often as we should. Quaint with terrific food and great menu including multiple fish dishes. Had Snapper and Salmon Florentine tonight and was perfecto. I have been going to Italian Garden since it opened in Bulverde; I was one of the first patrons. I spoke to a nice gentleman who gave me his background and the NY history of the couple who decided to come to TX. I will never go there or order delivery again; not because they did not provide my $5.50 Pellegrino, but because the manager passed the buck to - first the delivery driver, then his new staff. A significant level of integrity is expected from a locally owned place - their love of food should show a tiny but - but does not exist. They have left out things in the past but I won't support an organization who throws their staff under the bus without even a pause. Good food, which was sacrificed for the service. read more

This is a nice family style restaurant serving good Italian food. Being Italian, I've been disappointed with other local Italian restaurants, but the location in San Marcos is a regular go to. I wouldn't say it is great, but it is good and very consistent. read more

We were immediately welcomed & sat upon arrival. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and felt comfortable. The service is excellent. Well we were hungry and the lights were on. And we were happy we stopped in. You can tell this is definitely a family run place, the staff was so very attentive and welcoming. There were some things I couldn't get pictures of because they were eaten so fast. The garlic knots....if you eat nothing else just get a basket of those fluffy flavorful pieces of joy. The nick's salad was really fresh and tasty. The hubs was very quiet while eating his chicken parm and so were the kids. That was the best fettuccini Alfredo I have tried in a very long time. The food was bland and the meat in the lasagna had an off taste. The rolls seemed like they were microwaved. The pasta in my ziti was really good. Would have been a knockout dish if not so bland. I know, because i brought it home and added italian seasoning, garlic and red pepper flakes. Then it was delicious. read more

The soup was exactly what I needed--rich, flavorful, and comforting. Dipping the garlic knots into the broth? Absolute perfection. We stopped in on a Saturday evening and were happy that we didn't have to wait for a table. Our server, Julie, gave us a gracious greeting and was quick to bring out 4 nice size bread twists that were soft and hot. I don't think they were garlic rolls - or if they were, they could have used more garlic. (We like garlic rolls). We did get our garlic fix, however, with the soup of the day, which was a creamy garlic with chicken. It had a great flavor (very garlicky) - but the chicken was undetectable. My husband ordered his normal - chicken Parmesan. It was a very generous portion- especially for the price. The chicken was tender, nicely breaded and crispy and came with a huge portion of spaghetti smothered in a chunky tomato sauce. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were very light in color - I had a hard time figuring out how they were cooked so that they didn't brown. They tasted good, though. There was something about the sauce that I didn't like - it was chunky and fresh - but it almost had a slight fishy flavor that made me wonder if it had anchovies in it. The portions are generous, and the price is great. I'll give it another shot and try something with a cream sauce next time. The lobster ravioli tempted me this time, so that might be my next choice. read more

The food was very disappointing and nothing like the pictures.....but the service was horrible! I ordered delivery from thier website because doordash didnt have the stromboli. I but didnt receive the 3 meatball order which was for my son. When I called the restaurant, her response was "well you can drive here and pick it up." When I mentioned that I couldn't do that (which was the reason for ordering delivery), she just said we are busy and you have to call the delivery service. I ordered for 8 people and the only plates that were good was the stromboli and the kids spaghetti. The salads were basically chopped lettuce only. The kids spaghetti and meatballs (plural) only came with one meatball. The eggplant parmigiana, homemade baked pasta didnt come with pasta (when I asked the restaurant about that she just said "it doesnt come with pasta." As you can see on the receipt it clearly states it it comes with pasta. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We got a refund from the delivery co. for the order of 3 meatballs we never received and was a bonus because the kids didnt like the meatballs aftterall. read more

I never write reviews, but this was honestly the worst meal from start to finish. Our waitress was kind, prompt and courteous, however the food awful. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it wasnt fried. It was reheated in the microwave. I had the eggplant parmigiana and the sauce had a sour taste. The shrimp scampi was over cooked with rubbery shrimp. The salads were brown iceberg lettuce with one tomato slice on top. Our daughter ordered the soup of the day and it was brown water with chunks of chicken and one carrot. To top it off, our lunch was over $70! We had been to this restaurant earlier in 2025 and it was delicious. Such a big decline in food quality. read more

Oh my... Italian Garden in Spring Branch... We had such high hopes. My husband and I went here for dinner last night. We were very excited to try the new restaurant in Spring Branch, and really wanted to like it. The inside is ok. Clean, looks dated, but we don't really care. It could look like a dilapidated joint, but if the food is good we will come back time and time again. As soon as we were seated, we received warm bread. It was good, but needed something... I think it was supposed to be garlic, but there wasn't much flavor. So, we ordered the dipping sauce (olive oil, garlic, spices, cheese) which, was $2.99. This was somewhat off putting, but hey... Everything is expensive nowadays. We did really enjoy the bread with the dipping sauce. I ordered the special. It had chicken with kalamata olives, capers, garlic, and sundried tomatoes in a lemon butter sauce. My husband ordered veal saltimbocca. Both came with soup or salad and we both opted for the salad and balsamic vinegar dressing. Well, this is where it started to disappoint... The salads should change their name to Bowl of Iceberg as that was it. A bowl of iceberg lettuce with 2 old looking tomatoes on top. And, the lettuce was room temperature. BUT, the worst part of the salad was the dressing. It wasn't balsamic dressing, it was simply balsamic vinegar! Holy Molé! I thought it looked a little liquid-y when I poured it on my salad. I started coughing when I took a bite. It was completely inedible. Neither of us could eat it. When our waitress came over she asked if we liked it and I said no. I also told her that we didn't think it would just be vinegar for our salad, and she just smiled and took the salads away. On to the entrees. They came out piping hot. YAY! They looked pretty good, so we could hardly wait to taste them. My husband's veal was ok. There was no prosciutto in it, like in every other saltimbocca we've ever had. It wasn't very flavorful... But it was better than the salad. My meal was subpar. The flavors did not really go together. It was overloaded work garlic... Actually looked like it had a whole bulb of garlic. But the worst part was the chicken. It was FROZEN CHICKEN. THEY HEATED UP! How do I know? Well, it has the fake grill marks on it, was super thin, and the consistency was off. All in all, we will not be back. It's sad bc we wanted to like Italian Garden. We prefer to support small, local businesses. However, we can not, in good conscience, refer others to eat here. read more

You must try this little gem which recently opened in a former Mexican restaurant, tucked away from the busy traffic. We came at lunch and I had the sampler which included lasagna, manicotti and cannelloni and my wife had the sausage arrabiata. The sampler's sauce was light and not too sweet. I couldn't say which was better, although the lasagna was one of the best I've had in a long time. My wife's arrabiata was amazing. The sausage was savory and with the peppers in the sauce, was a nice blend of flavors. Our server, Anahi was on top of her game that day and took care of us! I have to admit the garlic bread knots they bring out were bordering on sinful. We passed on seconds (sadly) to ensure we didn't fill up before the main course arrived. They have an amazing menu and we will be back to try other items on their menu. read more

Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Iceberg lettuce salad was drowned in dressing and not editable. Tomato was old and gross looking. Motzarella sticks were definitely frozen from a box. A friend and I went for the first time on a Tuesday night for our monthly get together. We found excellent service and both got wonderful eggplant Parmesan dishes. Highly recommend this spot for some good non-chain Italian food. I will caution that if you want wine with your meal, it's BYOB - stop by HEB before you get here! read more

Found this new restaurant in Bulverde Texas and it was excellent! It's where the old "Magues" used to be and it is now an Italian place. The wife and I were there at about 1 pm on a Wednesday and place was about half full. Nice and quiet for a good conversation and lunch. I had the Sausage Arrabiata (which I couldn't pronounce so I just pointed to it) and I had just enough spicy taste to be very flavorful. The wife had Chicken Parmigiana and said the sauce was definitely homemade and delicious. We had a very efficient and authentic (I believe) Italian Server who was helpful on explaining everything. Prices were normal for nowadays and we took 1/2 home for leftovers. There was also a plate of bread served before the meal that was very tasty. read more

We have been coming to Italian Garden for years now. The one thing I can say about this place is that it is very consistent in preparing their meals. Their pizza is so good and all their chicken Parmesan and chicken plates, their fettuccine all their plates are wonderfully prepared. The location is also very convenient with tables overlooking Canyon Lake. The servers and waiters are all good and provide excellent service. If you are traveling in or around Canyon Lake, I would urge you to stop by Italian Garden and have a wonderful meal. read more

This was my first and last time ordering here! We were in from out of town and ordered delivery. We must have received the leftovers from lunchtime because the garlic bread appeared to be reheated, spaghetti was overcooked, one of our dinners was missing a salad. Not sure I would call it a salad based on core lettuce with a wedge of tomato. My "salad" was missing and so was the extra sauce, peppers and onions we paid for. The strawberry cheesecake looked like it hit the floor before it made it to the container because it was mangled. It also had a terrible "flavor" like being in the fridge too long. Here's the grand finale of the entire meal-there was a LONG, DARK HAIR in the spaghetti I gave to my grandbaby! The whole meal was disgusting and I would never return. I have already told my daughter's neighbors about our experience. The meal progressively got worse. I would have had a better meal and money spent at Taco Bell! read more

Pretty good food at moderate prices. I'd recommend the sliced Italian sausage in marinara sauce in the appetizer section. The waitress did a good job at bringing me my order promptly.
