Coconut soup: 3/5 Very sweet and also sour, but well seasoned. The tofu was soft and vegetables inside were crispy. Noodles with beef broth: 5/5 The beef broth was extremely rich and flavorful and the noodles went perfectly with it. Ordered delivery from here when I had a random craaving for Thai food. Decided to try drunken noodles for the first time and I got my husband the chicken veggie fried rice. The order came before it was due which was super nice! I just have to say one thing. WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THE MAGIC THAT IS DRUNKEN NOODLESS???! Nice Thai restaurant in a secluded location. They serve wonderful food with lots of novel selections. We went for dinner, but they obviously get a lot of carry out business, and that affected our service. We were seated, but no one came to offer menus or take drink orders. We learned they expected you to order on your phone, but no one said that. We asked for a regular menu & were told they're not up to date. When we finally got steamed dumplings as an appetizer (which were delicious), the waiter walked away & never brought any silverware. We had to go get it. I have tried iThaiz several times and have enjoyed the quality and flavor of their food. I even feel fortunate to have had them come on my radar very soon after opening their doors a couple years ago. I find them to have an exceptional limitation based on how long it takes for their food to be prepared, literally in every occurrence. Therefore, despite having an adequate dining space I would solely only recommend this as a takeout restaurant until their figure out better efficiencies in the kitchen. Unfortunately they've become a restaurant I only enjoy through the use of GrubHub, which unfortunately adds another 20 to 30 minutes from Order to Eating. It just seemed like they didn't have their act together. I had my app open to my order for the staff to see and they looked at it but thought I was with grub hub...my order showed I was on my own and ordering in my name. I also had to tell them sever times I'm not with grub hub. The persons there kept saying I was a grub hub order...and same to other customers too and we kept telling them that we'd ordered food for ourselves and had gotten the phone notice our orders were ready. My order was ready and I could see it on a table but they'd placed it on the grubhub side that they'd set up. Very disorganized and food was lukewarm. I have been to IThaiz twice now and have not been disappointed yet. The staff is friendly and very personable. Both waiters I had were top notch. The potstickers in a curry broth are fantastic. It's a bowl of sunshine and happiness with little clouds of tender wrapped dumplings that take your tastebuds on a journey through the solar system. I got the chicken pad thai and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the noodles were perfectly complimented by the peanuts and sauce. The second time I went with the lemongrass chicken. The vegetables were extremely fresh and well cooked. The broth they were swimming in made me want to do cannonballs into the little pool of savory flavor. Only 3 stars because I felt the need to throw my entree in the bin. I ordered online for lunch after checking out the reviews. My order consisted of a LUNCH: iThaiz Yum Yum Noodles and Money Bags. I only work 5mins away but needed to have it delivered; it arrived quickly. I never had this dish before so I didn't know what to expect. It's lunchtime, i'm hungry, I dig straight into the chicken and was thrown off by the taste. I'm not sure how it was cooked but it didn't taste like any chicken i'm used to eating. Also, I had something of a gray film on a strip of chicken(pictured). The noodles were great and the sauce was sweet and delicious. I actually never tried Money Bags before either but I was pleasantly surprised with their taste. Filled with onions, peas, carrots, it was right up my alley. Final word: I did not enjoy the taste of the chicken and because I have to question the quality, I will not purchase it again. BEST THAI! I came here after a workout from the gym on a weekday and they were closing soon. The owner accommodated me and we got an order in. To begin, I had the coconut chicken soup. It comes in a hot pot, which keeps the soup warm until the flame goes out. I also had an order of summer/fresh rolls with shrimp and a green curry. It was soooo delicious! Everything tasted really fresh and came out so quickly. This will be my new Thai location and recommend to others. :) read more

Had the WEIRDEST experience at this place last night, and will not be ordering or going back. First, when I walked in this lady (comes out to be the owner of the restaurant) was yelling at some guy (I'm assuming they were on a date - because they were sitting at one of the tables right when you walk in) - telling him he's not a gentleman for not paying for her drinks. Then when he gets up to pay at the counter, shes yelling saying "don't come back here" "you are not welcome here" "fuck you" "who do you think you are, can't even pay for a lady's drink". It was WEIRD! FOR THE FOOD/ SERVICE - placed my order at 5:30 to pickup at 6:45. Got there 6:50pm, and there were about 8 other people waiting to pickup orders. One woman had been there over an hour just waiting for her food (she also placed her order in advance). I ended up having to wait an additional 45min before my food was even ready. Crazy thing is, the lady who has been waiting an hour still hadn't gotten her food before mine. Then, when one guy asked for the owner (who was either having a really bad day, or just completely unstable) to complain about the wait time she literally said (yelling so all of the people waiting around for food could hear) "If you are unhappy with the wait please cancel your order, for everyone that wants to cancel we've got plenty of customers who will buy our food. It's no big deal to me". Then went further to say "Please leave, we have plenty of happy customers" . All of us looked shocked. Take your $$ where it's valued, will not be going back. Also, the food is just okay. Thought it was going to be piping hot (due to having to wait for the food to be cooked), we had to reheat everything and I only live 10min away read more

We've been here several times but first time reviewing! Honestly I think the first few times were 5 star experiences. Delicious flavor and spice, fast pickup. The reasons for docking a star are 2 back to back meh experiences. One time I went and got a peanut sauce meal and it was awesome, but sooo high in sodium and I must've been too dehydrated before I had it or something and it really didn't sit right with me. The second reason is because my husband went to pick up and had to wait for 15 minutes once he got there. The drunken noodles were extra soggy by the time they got back home and it wasn't great. Wow! This place is legit and oh so very very delicious. In a rundown strip mall (as all of the best authentic restaurants usually are,) this place is very unique. It's in a location that things like Yelp and word of mouth definitely help with pinning down, because I think it would be easily missed otherwise. I was very happy to hear all of the Thai being spoken between staff, as well as the enthusiasm that was shared between patrons and staff- it's a good sign when everyone in there eating wants to school you because this is rapidly becoming an established neighborhood haunt in an area that desperately needs more flavor. The decor is very cool, just the right amount of flashy with a nice zen balance that makes you feel like you're somewhere special and different. The owners are incredible; they are so personable, hard-working and their staff are patient, kind and on top of service no matter the strain. You can feel the passion oozing from every corner of the restaurant, and it shows in how genuinely you feel cared for, how many regular customers they get and the quality of the food. Even though one of the owners had injured himself and was in severe pain, he showed up, was very kind and attentive, apologetic, and that speaks volumes. I could only give kindness back, and overall it was a very comfortable and fun environment. I started with a Thai Iced Coffee, which actually had flavor! It was not overly sweet, not overly nuked with cream. Perfect balance, very refreshing and unique coconut-y flavor. Definitely the best Thai Iced Coffee I've ever had. Their growing reputation is not wrong, and the food is definitely worth any amount of wait (Thai food is not fast food- curries take a little time to settle and marry, let it do its thing. Don't be impatient!) I accidentally ordered the wrong thing (meant to get the Khao Soi special, my bad. I'll just have to go back again!) But I ordered Red Curry Crispy Basil Duck soup with lomein noodles instead of rice; phenomenal flavor and some of the most immaculately cooked duck I've ever eaten, anywhere. I'm still thinking about it. I've been sharing my picture of the crisp and juiciness of the duck with friends, it was that good. I'm telling everyone! Not only did the duck retain a perfectly crisp skin and all of its fatty tenderness with the extra cook in the broth, which is the show of a pro, but the broth! The BROTH! The depth of flavor with just the perfect hint of coconut, a perfect spice balance where it didn't murder you, and you could taste all of the spices (the basil and lemongrass and green onion came through splendidly!,) and it wasn't overly thick, but not water either. And the portion was incredibly generous (enough for two meals, but I ate the whole thing in one sitting because I couldn't stop, plus all of the cooks on the noodles, veggies and protein were so tender and moist and perfect, I didn't want to ruin anything by reheating.) *As a side note, the vegetables had flavor and tasted much fresher than most run-of-the-mill "Thai" restaurants, and there was a hearty helping of everything from peppers to broccoli, as well as an incredibly generous amount of duck throughout the entire soup and noodles! (Usually you get like two vegetables, like three pieces of meat, way too many noodles and mostly broth for the same price.) I got Thai Hot which was popping with such a complex, balanced flavor, you could still taste every component of the dish without losing spice, but there's one above that I'll go back and try (nuke me, guys! I'll be back to test you!) Also, the noodles were perfectly al dente (not soggy, not firm, just melted like butter in my mouth,) and the food came out so hot, it burned a layer off the top of my mouth, but I couldn't stop eating it, it was that good. All in all, easily new favorite Thai spot in the general area, and I'll keep making the pilgrimage out there from Grove for my curry fixes. You guys are fantastic, never change, keep your passion and your quality; I've been craving somewhere like this, and I'm so happy it's here! I'll definitely be back to update more. Can't wait! I love this place. It is on my list of places to eat anytime. We were actually starting to say something like- want to go out to eat. How about iThaiz? My sister's favorite is the ginger perfect. My favorite is the amazing Thai. The food looks good, smells awesome and I have trouble stopping eating and putting it in my Togo box because it smells so good. It is always enough to take leftovers to work the be day for me. And if I ate my normal amount I could probably eat on my meal three times- but it just smells and tastes so good. I am sure they are going to increase in business after being featured in Style weekly. And I love the fact that they can make my meal gluten free. The owners are awesome and they remember you, which is a nice local touch. And I really like the way they treat their customers and even their vendors. The doordash interface adds some needless complexity to the customer experience. I'll get to that later. I got chicken satay, summer rolls, drunken noodle, and panang curry. The two appetizers were fantastic. Loved them. The summer rolls were jam packed and huge with a great dipping sauce. The satay was tender and a nice turmeric yellow. Both delicious. The panang curry had a great flavor, but the problem was consistency. It was basically brothy soup, it was so thin. The little amount of rice (was like half a cup) did nothing to add body to the meal, and just waded helplessly in a milky red ocean. The other issue? It was spicy as heck! We weren't given any means of specifying (and spice level is customarily prompted by any server). There was also like two tiny scraps of basil in the entire dish. Whoever the basil-miser in the kitchen is, he's definitely doing god's work. Because the tiny bit of green in this entire to-go container was impressive. Now, the drunken noodle just wasn't showing up to work. I was hoping for spice here. Really, really looking forward to my sweat glands getting into an argument with my meal, y'know? It was a hard day, and I wanted my dinner to fight back a little. In terms of potency on a 1 to 10 scale, this was like arm wrestling a wet paper towel. But again, no means of specifying spice level. Why is one dish absurdly spicy (think Rita Moreno singing Fever in Hell's Kitchen) , and the other one was desperately flirting with things like "flavor." For a long time I've been looking for a Thai restaurant that served a Pad Thai that resembles the flavor from the first one I ever had from a restaurant that closed a few years ago. This is it! I've finally found the Thai restaurant that serves the pad Thai with those delicious noodles and that amazing peanut taste. The noodles were cooked a little al dente which my husband wasn't crazy about, but that I loved. I also ordered spring rolls. They were delicious and crispy. We called to place the order to pick up at the restaurant since we are not allowed dining in due to Covid-19. However the restaurant looked clean and nicely decorated. Yesterday we called and placed a takeout order. We were told it would be 30 minutes. We arrived 30 minutes later and the rude clerk barked "30 minutes"! She turned on her heal and left the counter. I waited and waited and waited. Eventually after more than 30 minutes more of waiting she brought out an order. She shoved the ticket at me. When I looked at it I realized it was not our order. When I finally got her to understand that she checked and told me they did not have our order! It would be another 30 minutes!!!!! I told her no thanks and left! We visited Ithaiz Restaurant in Chesterfield with a group of 10 for moms birthday and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is located a bit off the beaten track on Courthouse Road in the Food Lion shopping center. Once we were inside, the modern layout and muraled walls gave the restaurant a unique look. We started with the fried ice cream..loved the presentation but not impressed with flavor. For appetizers we ordered Spring rolls, Money bags, and Curry puffs. I loved the perfect looking Money bags and they were bursting with flavor. The curry was also very good with its own chutney sauce. Nick our server (owner) recommended the crispy duck dish ($16) and mentioned the dishes were pretty big. Our end of the table (6) ordered the beef & shrimp Yum Yum noodles, Crispy Duck, and (2) chicken Penang curry to share. The service was excellent and dishes were fabulous. Loved the little bit of crunchiness in the noodles and everyone raved about how good the duck was. After trying it I saw why. Sooo good.... My new favorite duck go to spot in Richmond...
