Is this the best sushi in Reno? Maybe. I heard they had a new sushi chef on the team and wanted to check it out. Wow! Glad I did. Tried several of the rolls including the Netflix and Chill and the Itzavy roll. All really great and fresh. It's a small place but really great staff and amazing sushi. We all know there are a lot of sushi choices in Reno so I like to try new ones periodically. Really glad I gave this one a try. Probably my new favorite. Give it a try, and it might become your new favorite too.

Overall, great experience the staff was super nice. The food tasted great. I really liked the firecracker roll. In the infamous words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back." And in the other famous words of Chief Brody in jaws, "you're gonna need a bigger boat..." for all the sushi we're gonna eat next time. 10 stars

It was our first time here and. It was ok. The customer service was great but the sushi were ok. I was expected something amazing but it was alright. I might try it again, and see if it will be different.

Itzavy Sushi is such a great spot when you're craving fresh, flavorful sushi. The rolls are beautifully made, the fish tastes clean and high-quality, and the menu has a fun mix of classics and creative options. I especially love how everything comes out looking just as good as it tastes. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for a casual night out or a quick bite. The staff is friendly and attentive, though at times the service can be a little slow during busy hours, that's really the only reason I didn't give it five stars. Overall, Itzavy Sushi delivers delicious food, good vibes, and a consistently enjoyable experience. I'll definitely be back!

Don't walk...Run to this sushi spot ! I stumbled by this sushi restaurant as I was driving around choosing a lunch spot, I noticed the location had a new name from biggest little sushi, so I figured... let's give it a try! As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the sushi chefs and chose a chair at the bar. Thankfully it wasnt very busy inside but they were poppin in takeout orders. I always start with nigiri to see how fresh the fish is and also to see how much rice they are going to pack in it...the hamachi was incredibly fresh, buttery with just the right amount of rice. I tried a few hand rolls and long rolls, they were again super fresh and wonderful flavors. My favorite was called the Netflix and chill (one of their new rolls) it has chili oil on it and it was such a good kick of spice with crispies and hamachi! The server was very attentive and checked in consistently as I was there, my sushi chef was also very attentive and quick! The all you can eat price was $27.95 so pretty standard price as other spots. Overall, an awesome sushi spot in town!

Can I tell you what roles I ordered? No but I can't tell you that this is only half of what I ordered and all of them were sooooo good. My partner and I sat at the bar and the chef were great in making recommendations and making fire sushi. I've returned three times since the first time I've been, it's so good and they are so easy and quick to also order for takeout! I freaking love it here and will come back!

My first taste of high quality sushi was at Iron Chef Morimoto's flagship restaurant in Philadelphia in the late 90s and I dove full steam ahead into the Reno world of sushi after my return from that trip. Since then, I've become a bit of a sushi "snob". I've been to almost every sushi joint around the area and always make it a point to try the newest while still supporting my go-to, as well as the other places that I enjoy visiting when my favorite local sushi chef is unavailable at my go-to. I really like this place! Located just outside of downtown in the location of the former Biggest Little Sushi Bar, the owners have made it their own since taking over. Not much has changed in décor, but plenty has changed in the food. The sushi chefs, Chris and Miguel, are very talented and efficient...as well as extremely courteous...they also are very open to suggestions, as I have a diverse palate for sushi that a lot of places don't appease. I know...I know...everyone has a diverse palate for sushi and we all enjoy it in our own way...different appetizers, rolls, nigiri, etc...that's the beauty of it. Their menu is very diverse...lots of offerings that you won't see anywhere else...that's what led me to give them 5 stars, even though they're not my go-to...but, they now rank right near the top! Some of their standouts for me? Jalapeno Poppers It's a different approach than the usual "stuffed jalapeno"...very tasty. Baked Mussels As good as it gets in the area. Roger long roll The flavor combination POPS! Lemon Drop long roll The lemon flavor jumps out at you, yet complements the rest of the flavors perfectly. Spider long roll My benchmark roll...if a place can do a good Spider Roll, then usually everything else is great. This one is exemplary! As I said, they're open to suggestions... A few items that they customized for me: Hamachi Kama First time I went in, I had it fried, which was their only option on the menu...dry, bland, not to my liking. The 2nd time though? I asked them if they would bake it...they did...without hesitation...and man, what a change! Drop dead delicious, moist, flaky...the dipping sauce is really good. Quail Egg Shooters Had them make them extra spicy and they did it with a deft hand and lots of flavor. Scallop Nigiri I asked them to give them a quick flash fry...which I love because it caramelizes the exterior while still leaving the interior moist and succulent. I hate the standard "seared" preparations everywhere else...the smell of the butane torch when they're prepared that way kills the delicate taste of scallops. Lots of other compliments I could heap on them, but I've already made this review long winded enough...LOL... As always, I suggest that you drop by to see what YOU think...

My new favorite sushi place. Christian was our server. He was very friendly and hospitable. It's a cute place right next to Belleville wine bar. The decor is modern and cosmopolitan. All the food was delicious but especially the paradise, sexy and mango crunch rolls. So good

I was really in the mood to try a new sushi place and Itzavy seemed promising. We did not get all you can eat, just a few items, but really not impressed. The presentation of the rolls was very nice, which is probably one of the main reasons that made me choose to come here in the first place, but nothing tasted fresh and everything was just slightly room temperature instead of cold which is a no go for me. I went here specifically craving a quail egg shooter and it was not great. The ambiance is ok, very clean but kinda dull inside. We were there late right before closing but service was great and very attentive. Needless to say I will be continuing my search for a go to Sushi place in Reno.

Delicious fresh sushi in an intimate modern setting. Good service, especially at the bar. Menus have pictures and a wide variety, with something for anyone! This has been my go-to spot for the last 3 years and is a great place to bring guests or family to show them what Reno's AYCTE scene produces.

The menu didn't feel very varied--it was mostly the same types of rolls (crab mostly) with different sauces. That may just be personal preference, since I tend to like shrimp rolls (either cooked or uncooked). When we arrived, we were seated in the far right corner. There were other tables nearby, but because we were a large group, it took a while for anyone to take our drink orders. We even had two separate servers come by to ask for drinks. Once we ordered sushi, that's where things really went downhill. We were split across the tables (four people per table), and although we placed our orders at the same time, half of our group didn't receive their sushi until about 30 minutes after the other part of us. It felt like the order process wasn't managed well. Customer service was also inconsistent. We had to keep asking for items we never received, like refills, and we didn't get straws. Even though the restaurant was busy, I've been to other sushi places on busy nights and never experienced service this slow. The only thing I truly liked was the appetizers. The beef teriyaki was the best thing I had--really tasty. I'd recommend that, but only if you have a lot of time to spare, because the wait for food and follow-ups was a struggle. When we tried to order dessert, it took so long for someone to come back that a few people ended up giving up and not getting dessert at all. Overall, customer service took far too long, and the sushi was just OK--not especially flavorful or memorable for me. The rolls tasted pretty similar, and I don't think I'll be returning.

We were seated quickly. Now that can be attributed to the fact that we were early for dinner. We opted for a tabled, but there were plenty of seats available at the sushi bar. We only waited for a few minutes before the first wave of fish was delivered. Throughout dinner, we never had to wait long for the sushi to be delivered. The atmosphere was decent. It felt like it was more of a storefront than a traditional restaurant. But, it was a storefront and I don't care about that. I base my rating on freshness, service and cleanliness of the store. One thing that surprised me was the Kani (crab). I ordered it wondering if it would be real crab or imitation. It was real! I was happy and surprised. I ate my fill. Well slap my a** and call me Betty! Haha I have been eating all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi in Reno…read morefor over 10 years now and this is the first place I've been able to actually taste how good the fish actually is. To be clear, this is not an AYCE sushi restaurant, and there's other offerings besides sushi including ramen, salad, steaks, and various teriyaki plates. Apparently the food is hand selected by the owner, and helped prepared by the Japanese wife in the kitchen. From what I understand, the line cooks follow traditional Japanese ways including only being able to make a sushi roll after being a line cook for 5 years. As for the food itself, these are the things I've tried: -Maguro (tuna) sashimi: absolutely delightful -Sake (salmon) nigri: really good -Unagi (Eel) sashimi: my favorite nigri, the unagi was so tender it was falling apart. Best I've ever had. -Kazo sake: the combination of all the textures and flavors made this one of my top choices. Think of eating it like a deviled egg, if you're able to fit the whole thing in your mouth, you can taste all the flavors at once. If not, it's still tasty and you can taste the pieces individually! -Mt Rose roll: the textures and flavors were really good! -Fire Ocean roll: Absolutely delicious, and spicy! -Spicy garlic edamame: I wasn't impressed. No crisp on the garlic. The garlic, sweet chili sauce, and edamame felt like they were all cooked separately and combined on the serving plate. The garlic seemed like it was from a jar, and the sauce from the bottle. -Tempura banana with strawberry mochi: we devoured this, the chocolate sauce made the combination of flavors pleasant. I wish the tempura banana had a bit more going on - more crisp and less batter. -Wasabi: the wasabi actually tastes real and not like horseradish!!! It blends into the soy sauce beautifully and it's creamy. Drinks -Sapporo with the Junmai Ginjo sake: light and crisp, really yummy -Honey Citron tea- delightful Service While our service was generally pleasant, we did end up going at least 20 mins at one point without any word from our server while waiting on food. We didn't mind, and it was nice to not be rushed, but some others may want to feel more taken care of. My only slight complaint is that I didn't keep my chopsticks after dinner for our dessert, but we just ended up sharing the one pair we had. It would have been nice to be reminded to keep my chopsticks or to be offered another pair. Ambiance The space is relatively large and Miyabi expanded years ago to accommodate a larger dining area. The only slightly confusing part - I wish it was more clear which door you enter from. The only indicator is the Open sign on the left hand set of doors. All in all, I really enjoy and appreciate good quality food, and while you are paying the price for it here, it's justified. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Sadly there were too many flies landing on my food and baby, I don't want to give them another try. The only good item I've found on their menu is the Mt Rose roll and edamame (for the black salt). The lobster roll was also a rip off; it's covered in sauce so you can't even taste the lobster.
