    Special sauce aka ketchup

I went here with my family and it was horrible. The sushi was very bad, it did not have any taste and was very bland. The only thing that tasted decently good is the salmon roll, but what really disgusted me was the kissho roll they said it had there special sauce on it but it tasted like ketchup and cocktail sauce. When we got our quail egg shooters we were told it had sake and it was very strong. When I finished my food i felt sick to my stomach. I could not wait to get out of there, would not recommend.

Came in for dinner on a Friday and found it surprisingly not busy. The inside is bigger than I expected. It's spacious enough for big groups. Service felt rushed even though there were only 2 other tables besides mine. The fishes were very fresh which I did enjoy. There is a lot of rice. The rolls are mediocre.

My daughter and I went for the first time today. Wanted to try a different sushi spot. We ordered 3 orders of nigiri, 2 crystal shrimp rolls, the kissho roll and the spicy girl. Neither of us liked the nigiri (it was fishy) or the spicy girl (the inside tasted weird) The kissho was the best one and the crystal shrimp rolls came in second. Not worth the price. The service was good though and the restaurant was cute.

Drive past here many times but haven't heard anything about it good or bad. They have Ala carte and AYCE options; which we tried AYCE. Late dinner so it was pretty quiet only about 3 tables. Service and food was quick; unsure if always like this or because we arrived when tables were finishing up. They had several rolls we never heard of however one of the party couldn't eat spicy so we weren't able to try all. However the rolls we did try each had its own distinct taste; whereas some other AYCE taste all the same.

The very best of Kissho sushi is their appetizers. I wish I could say the same for their long rolls, but sadly there's only maybe three that I like. The service is always exceptional and I do love the intimate atmosphere and beautiful decor. It's not great, but also not bad either. I'll still go every once in awhile when I crave their appetizers, but that's about it. It's unfortunate, but not worth the price anymore just for appetizers.

The sushi was mediocre and the variety was not so great. The best was the sake nigiri!! It was super light and fresh. The service was absolutely great, they attended to our every request expeditiously. I was super shocked at the hibachi plate for the low price of $28.00 with shrimp and lobster. The decor was nice but simple and clean. Cant say I would return for AYCE, not enough variety but nice establishment.

my family and i went in on a sunday night as a party of 6. the place was kinda empty and only had two other tables going so we sat down immediately. we ordered the all you can eat sushi and each ordered 2 or 3 rolls. the sushi came out quite fast and we were in wow. everything we ordered was all very good. there wasn't a single roll i didn't like. throughout dinner, they kept checking on us to see if we wanted more sushi. service was good overall and i'd definitely come back if i'm in the area again!

Had a wonderful lunch here. My girlfriend and I arrived during a slow period so it was just us for a minute. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and beautiful. The staff were prompt, attentive, and very kind! The sushi was a smash! Everything, including the appetizers, was delicious. The quality of their ingredients was superb. The pricing is on par with other places. 10/10 will come back again!

First off, we were homesick for some good hibachi meals. We lived in SE Texas up until a year ago and our restaurant scene here was minimal to what we were used too. So I found Kissho Sushi here on Yelp. Waitress. She was great. Very attentive, was on top of everything and very pleasent. Atmosphere.. It's a small little quaint restaurant. Very homey feeling with the drape covered windows. If I had 1 input, when you have someone loud sitting right behind you, the sound carries big time. But that's not the restaurants fault that someone was just rude. Called respect people. The food.. We started with the tuna titaki and a 2 piece eel sushi. The tuna in the titaki was cut so great. Nice large pieces, very tender, sauce had great flavor with I believe were carrot straws or curls. Yes I ate on those too lol The eel sushi. OMG I went to heaven on this one. Perfect sized pieces of eel. Rice was perfect.. The yummy tenderness of eel is like no other sushi. We each got a hibachi meal for our main. It comes with soup, salad, veggies, fried or white rice and your choice of portion or veggie option. We had 1 clear soup, 1 miso soup The acutrrimants for the sushi and plates. I had the chicken and shrimp and hubby had double shrimp. The flavors of the sauce were very delicious. Fried rice was perfect, as well the veggies and the cook on them. It was a really great meal. Will be going back for the 10 piece eel platter for 23.95 i believe is the price. Water with lemon and hot sake for our beverages Can't wait to go back

I came here with my boyfriend on a very snowy day, so there were no customers when we entered. We were quickly greeted and seated by a staff. We were given menus and ordered drinks. They have the paper to mark what you want which I love because it makes everything run more smoothly. For appetizers, we ordered shumai, miso soup, mussels, and a peanut mango avocado salad. The shumai was average (kind of bland), the miso soup was flavorful, the mussels tasted like it was heated up in the microwave, and the peanut mango avocado salad was good (flavors are mixed with sweet and sour). As for the sushi, we ordered almost every type of the nigiri and tried the kissho roll. The tuna nigiris were really good, however, my favorite yellowtail did not taste as good as other places. The salmon was average. There are a lot of other items on the menu if you do not eat sushi or raw food like noodles and rice dishes. All the food came out quickly even though there were two other tables by the time we left. The interior design looked a lot nicer than I expected from the outside. Everything was clean and new. Overall, I would not come here again if I had the choice because there are so many other all you can eat options in the area.

Worst sushi. Rice was hard and old. Would never buy. Grocery store sushi better than this.

As I sit at the bar with salmon eggs popping in my mouth, I think: life is good, but not perfect,…read moresame for Tokyo Sushi. Most times I come alone an hour before closing and get a seat at the bar almost immediately even with groups on the waiting list. This visit, I was astonished to find 36 people on the waitlist with only an hour left so had to wait a bit. At that late point they hand out order sheets while you're waiting, which for diehard groups seated shortly before closing means placing a MEGA order as soon as you sit down, followed by a rushed scarfing-down session as the staff begins closing up shop. The menu is quite large with heavy overlap with the menus at most other AYCE places. Roll selection is good and popular, as I look to either side, I'm appreciative of most patrons filling up on rolls commonly made with fake Krab (same stuff in frozen fish sticks), deep-fried ingredients, and generous applications of mayo and eel or teriyaki sauce. These cost the restaurant far less than a steady stream of nigiri, effectively subsidizing the roughly $120 worth of assorted nigiri I'm about to consume for about a third of that price. To each their own. The rice was perfectly seasoned and properly cooked, the most important part of sushi, though on one previous visit it leaned a bit too sweet. The fish tasted good, I wouldn't call it 'fresh' as most sushi fish comes frozen (except the Salmon and shellfish) so 'well thawed and not old' might be better description. The fish-to-rice ratio is better than at most competing spots. Service is usually decent but attentiveness can vary and lag when busy if you aren't assertive and use the call button or flag someone down. Also double check your credit card bill that a higher tip that you designated wasn't charged which happened to me once. The combination of a packed dining room, skewing on the young midtown crowd side, and upbeat music, makes the place LOUD and festive, with sports on two large-screen TVs. The downside is that carrying on a conversation in a larger group can be challenging. The bar refrigerator sits high enough that you can't really watch the chefs work, and when combined with the noise and possibly a language barrier, forget about chatting with the sushi chef. Food-wise, it's easy to place Tokyo Sushi in Reno's top three AYCE options, though you'll pay a few dollars more than average at roughly $45 per person with tax and tip as of June 2026. However its extreme popularity fills the parking lot and creates wait times capable of testing almost anyone's patience. Waiting over an hour during peak dinner service is not uncommon, and the crowded waiting area may leave you standing outside or sitting in your car. Hungry couples and groups may want to consider less busy alternatives, especially on a 90+ degree summer day or when winter "rolls" around.

Sushi is 5 stars especially for the all you can eat lunch price. Muscles were rubbery though. I…read moretried both muscle appetizers and both were that way. Flavor was good though. Service I would give a 2 star. The chocolate icecream looks like it was be prescooped into the cups then put back in the freezer after it had melted a little. In the picture, you can see it was melted at some point and then refrozen. Makes the ice cream taste gross. I got passed by 7 different times before a waiter told me to put the ticket in the holder for someone to come get it. The server was going to put it in the holder and walk away without it until I mentioned I'd already been passed by several times, then he took it with a huff. In 2018 I gave this place a 5 star so I wanted to try it again with my mother and my son. A little disappointed. I'm willing to give it another chance but not anytime soon. I need the distaste of bad service to get out of my mouth before I return.

One thing we noticed right away was that the bonchon was already set on the tables before guests arrived. It wasn't a large spread--just a small tin of cheese corn and a divided tray with kimchi, bean sprouts, and fish cake--not sure how long they were left out and did look and taste dry. The servers seemed to work well together. Different team members checked on us, cleared dishes, served food, and helped other's tables. Once it got busier, they also used robot servers to help deliver food. We started with the salad with house dressing and the popcorn chicken. Both were good, and the chicken was nice and moist. For the BBQ, we ordered the Chardol, Ju Mul Luck, Hawaiian Steak, Tri-Tip Bulgogi, and Galbi (short ribs). Having eaten at quite a few Korean BBQ restaurants in Las Vegas, we noticed the portions here were a bit smaller. They also limit each round to three appetizers and four meat selections. Overall, the service was good, and we especially appreciated Eurie for being friendly and attentive. The only thing that concerned us was when another server changed our grill. Instead of lightly drizzling oil onto the grill, she forcefully squeezed the bottle, causing the oil to shoot out onto grill. It seemed like an unnecessary safety risk for both guests and employees. Our favorites were definitely the Tri-Tip Bulgogi and the Galbi. Both were flavorful and tender. The Chardol was good, but the slices were very thin and the portion felt a little small. The restaurant filled up quickly between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., so it's clearly a popular spot. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back for the Tri-Tip Bulgogi, Galbi, and the teamwork displayed by the staff.

One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is that it's one of the few Korean BBQ spots that…read morewelcomes solo diners without requiring a party of two. As someone who occasionally likes to eat alone, I really appreciate that. I've visited several times over the years, including recently under the newer ownership. Unfortunately, some of my old favorites aren't quite the same. I used to love their deep-fried oysters, which are no longer on the menu and have been replaced with deep-fried mussels. The kimchi stew recipe also seems to have changed and wasn't as memorable as before. That said, they still serve my favorite gopchang (beef small intestine). When cooked properly, it gets wonderfully crispy and reminds me of Mexican tripas tacos--definitely worth ordering. I'd personally skip the bibimbap appetizer. The rice was hard, the ground beef was cold, and it felt like it relied too heavily on the gochujang sauce for flavor. Even with those changes, I'll continue supporting this business. Service was also attentive.
