My friend highly recommended this place to me, since I currently have an overuse injury of my upper back/shoulder. I didn't make an appointment, but I walked in around 2:50pm on a Sunday afternoon and was told that the earliest appointment available was 3:30pm. So I recommend calling to make sure they can take walk-ins or make an appointment! I came back around 3:25, and they got me a room right away. I got a deep tissue massage for half an hour, and my masseuse asked if I had a focus area. I told her that I have an injury and wanted her to focus on my right upper back/shoulder, and she did just that for 30 minutes. Half-way through, she started using massage oil, and it smelled really nice, so I liked that. At the end, she stretched out and popped my back/shoulder/neck really nicely. I felt sore after my massage, but I'm hoping the soreness will fade away over the next couple days. I would definitely recommend this place if you'd like a massage with a certain area of focus! I have been to this place a dozen times, and have been satisfied with their service. Today I called and made an appt for 1pm and arrived on time. I was lead to the room and noticed a single white sheet on the mat. Not wanting to lay down on the mat, I asked for another sheet to lay onto the mat and the other sheet to cover me. The full bodied Thai woman said No ! The Matt is clean ! So I think, how can it be clean when everyone lies on it ? So I started to walk out, then stopped in the lobby and asked to speak to the manager.. a woman maybe yaya tried to assure me the matts are clean but that the other woman didn't want to give me another sheet because it's extra work to clean the room .... So, I decided that after a dozen satisfied visits to Iyara, I will no longer be coming here. I hope they give an extra sheet, if you do decide to go there. read more

I recently moved to this area and was looking for a new go-to Thai massage place. I found this one on Yelp and got a one hour Thai massage. I don't have very high standards for massages but I've received many many Thai massages before and this massage in particular was very bad for a couple reasons. She would press in all the wrong areas directly on the bone directly on my spine. For the rest of the massage, it felt like she was literally just moving her hands on the same spot of my body with no pressure just to pass the time. On top of that, she didn't even use oil or any lubricant so I felt a lot of friction skin pinching. At the end of that, I didn't even want to tip but I think that's rude so I tipped $10 for the $79 massage where she barely touched my body. I thought that was generous enough but she looked at me like I was crazy and pointed me to a sign that said MINIMUM $20 tip???? In what world is 25% tip required? If you require a specific amount as a business, you should be implementing it into the cost of the service, not forcefully trying to guilt your customers. Especially for a subpar service lol I don't know if it was the specific person I got that day or what but needless to say I won't be coming back read more

2yrs, once in 3 weeks. Hands down Colby is the best masseuse! She's knowledgeable with human anatomy, so she hits every muscle that are tense and releases the tension. I am now pregnant and visit her once in 10 days or sooner. She is gentle with my foot, but works on my shoulder, arms, back and my pregnant belly with coconut oil. So I've been here a few times now each time I worked with Yaya hands down she is amazing it's a non stop massage for an hour and she will focus on what u request for a bit never too hard never to soft and never too long in 1 spot. There customer service is just great as well I was actually passing by to have lunch, as I walked by Coco was waiving to me with the biggest smile, I usually go with a friend who has her and she loves Coco and says she's just as good as Yaya. I have come here twice and enjoyed the session before, but today was just downright horrible. The scheduler is the most unprofessional and dishonest individual I have come across in a long time. Today was my sister's bday and I scheduled an appointment for two people at 12:00, I told her "if" there was any time earlier available or if someone cancels before 12:00 to give me a call. She said ok, and said 12:00, and if someone cancels earlier than she would call. My sister and I get there at 11:55 and no one is there, they have a sign be back at 12:15... we scheduled an appointment for 12. I called her and asked what was happening and she told me that she didnt book the appointment... I became displeased obviously since this is something I wanted to have done for my sisters bday. Hands down the best deep tissue massage I've ever had! Kobe did an amazing job the entire hour of my appointment. She asked the basics- desired pressure, area of concentration, any surgeries to worry about. She got right to work and had no problem going way into my muscles. She used different techniques to get deeper into the muscles she was focused on. Although I only told her about my back and shoulders, she worked the muscle groups I didn't even know were just as tight and in need of attention. As my appointment ended, Kobe showed me tricks I can use on myself to help with relaxing my shoulders. I walked in feeling painful and walked out relieved and relaxed. Awful! This is a weak place of establishment. I missed my appointment with Coco ONCE and when I tried to call back to make an appointment to see her, I was told she would no longer massage me because she missed out on another appointment. I tipped Coco $50 after she massaged me the one time I saw her. That is an extremely poor way of conducting business. I didn't even get a warning that that would happen! Very rude and dishonest people. I did couple of sessions with them to give them the benefit of the doubt and it was close to my house. I was bruised once and was not able to move for days, another time the massage was useless. And when I finally liked one their message therapist for her skills she started avoiding my calls and my appointments. I even scheduled a massage with her using a different name and when she saw me at the door she said " ohhh I cant I am tired " her name is coco avoid her because she is a dishonest and not trust worthy I even tipped them 15%- 20% and up they were still ungrateful I hope they close this place and open a new one with friendly and trust worthy people read more

I really love this massage place. The people who work there are very friendly and warm. I lost the massage therapist I had been seeing,but she moved to another state. I hate finding a new therapist, when I lose a really good one who you know well and she knows every trouble spot on your body and you never have to tell them where to work on you. Reluctantly I went in search of a new therapist in my area. I made an appointment with a therapist and after this very sweet and skilled therapist named Pawina worked on me for two hours. I knew I struck gold! The first visit, she was just getting use to my needs and problem areas. The next time I went a week later she already figured out almost every trouble area. Now she just goes right to the areas and if it has shifted since the last visit, she will find out where it went to hide right away. Pawina is very petite, sweet and pretty, so she will surprise you when you find out the first time how strong this cute little woman is! She is a real blessing to me and to the business. I am so glad to have found her and this location. I hear that all the therapists are very skilled as well. I just have a soft spot for Pawina and she just keeps getting better every time I see her. Oh! Another really amazing thing she is able to do, it put me into the deepest sleep I have ever had,after a treatment and I go home and lay down. One time I went to sleep about 2:30pm after seeing her and woke up the next night at about 7:00pm!!!LOL The thing is, I have a serious sleep dIsorder so usually I only sleep three or four hours a night, tops! Sometimes, I can't sleep for two days! She is my little Sleeping pill Angel! So, I try to See her once a week if all my work allows? I hate if I can't go see her for more than a week. I also come back really messed up, if she didn't stay on top of my beat up body. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about Pawina and the rest of the wonderful, friendly staff. Go there!! I just came from this place. My masseuse was stronger than she looked! I had a traditional Thai massage for 60 minutes, complete with all the stretching. I must say I was so relaxed I drooled a little. I hope my masseuse didn't notice me wiping my mouth... Anyway, for first-timers, you pay only $49 for 60 mintues if you mention Yelp. After that, if you go before 2 pm, it's $49. After 2 pm, it's $59. These are excellent prices compared to standard Swedish massage at regular massage parlors. I have given this place a chance -- four times to be exact. And instead of improving, my experience here has steadily decreased. I don't know about all the masseuses here, but I don't think I've had one masseuse that knew what she was doing. It makes me seriously question the legitimacy of this establishment. IYARA is like a slow slow burn. And I mean very slow burn. When you start getting your treatment, you think WTF did I just waste my dolla dolla bills for? I'm just getting pressed up and down my body. Then they start their Thai massage thing. My 1st time, I was not sure what I was in for. Wow, talk about some serious yoga stretch treatment. Your hips don't lie. You will feel the burn. It seems neverending and you're getting treated from toe to head. At the end, it's the nice soothing head area care...ZZzzzzzz. You are sad when it's over. These petite Azn ladies are lil pistols. They have really really strong hands. But oh so soft at the same time so pleasure & pain kinda of run into each other. Plus they're really great about keeping things discreet. I throw all the pieces of clothing off except that piece of material they call a thong. The ladies keep that area nicely covered with the towel at all times. Even when they're twisting you into a pretzel, they move the towel around so it's always on. Not sure if I recommend men to go without, unless you want your jewels swinging around all over and it could get caught in a bad pretzel move. I enjoy the hot towels and the lil rub that comes with it. It does suck balls that your head is either lying to the left or right because if you center it, you'll suffocate. So the headrest and massage tables you get at the spas is not here. So smidge uncomfortable so keep moving that head. The massage rooms are not completely enclosed spaces so the one thing that can bug me is when the therapists chat too much in the massage room area but it usually quickly passes (because they're in the rooms to work on their clients). At least they've started closing the door to the rooms from the main area which is only a door away. I think the rooms are lit dimly enough and the mini water fountain bubbles are soothing. And to hoping they change their white towels to soft Sham wows or something of that material to smush your face in. read more

I have been looking for a Thai Massage place in the Irvine area since moving here and have finally found Iyara Thai. I have been here 3 times this past week as I had a sciatica flare up that was keeping me from even being able to stand up straight. This happens occasionally and after three session here I am mostly pain free, walking like a normal person and feel great. If you haven't been to a Thai Massage establishment a couple things you should know that make it different: 1) You are typically laying on a mat or thin cushion on the floor, no table with a donut to stick your face through 2) Thai massage involves a lot of stretching, a lot! For me this is awesome as I find the stretching almost as therapeutic as the massage itself. The owner worked on me on my first session and she was great, then the next two days Katie worked on me. I go during lunch and it is $49 / hour, a great great deal. I have had well over a hundred thai massage sessions at many different places and Katie is fantastic. She is small, but can lift me up and adjust my back and in two sessions got my body working how it should be. Give this place a try, they are clean, professional, and know what they are doing. read more

Awesome. I used the special $49 first timer 1 hour full body massage special. I actually find it to be a little pricey since I know other good places with more decent prices. Unfortunately they are much farther away from work or home. So all in all, loved it. All the tenseness is completely gone out of my body. The stretching was definitely needed, it was painful but good painful. My massager listened to my needs well, she put extra effort on the upper back and neck and man did she do it well! The only thing I didn't like about it was my room had this mini water fountain thing and the sound it was making wasn't relaxing at all. And I didn't like the hot towel thing, because at first it was good cause it was nice and hot then my body got cold cause it was wet in the open air... Other then that so good! If the general price was $40 I would go more often. But the regular price is I think $59? So I probably would only do this every once in a while when its an immediate emergency needed stress release fix (like today right after work). P.S. I'm not sure if the place is "authentic" as some reviews claim, for they do ask you to remove your clothes for traditional Thai, and I'm fairly certain that a traditional Thai massage requires you to wear some loose clothing. I absolutely loved Kobe's personality. She is very warm and friendly, and funny! :) I wouldn't advise the faint of heart to be caught on her table though. She is strong and she is persistent, with the "no knots unturned" kind of determination. She almost killed me! Haha. My husband has good experiences here, while I've had mixed experiences. Poor experiences cause me to take a long break (at least a year or two) in between coming back. Today I went for an emergency appointment as my shoulder and neck were in a significant amount of pain. Sonia was good about listening to me and focusing on those problem areas. She was gentle, yet strong. She was sensitive to when I was in pain and would slowly ease me into the more painful knots. I have had masseuses here in the past that focus on my thighs instead of my neck and shoulders, even after I specify those areas repeatedly throughout the appointment, which can be very frustrating. I have had a massage, it was the worst experience ever. They are not professional AT ALL. First, I walked in and the place did not look clean - sheets and towels looked dirty. The massage started and right away I knew the person was not officially qualified/qualified. They don't massage your body evenly, the person massaging me left to greet new upcoming customers and proceeded to engage in conversation rather than just massaging. They should massage from head to toe but instead massaged randomly. Their communications were also very poor. I had to tell them multiple times not to massage my spine/bones which is standard practice. You're supposed to go here to relax yet I could hear someone having a happy ending thing. God this place was so bad. In the end, the staff rushed to the front door and prevented me from leaving, physically blocking the door, and called the police one until I pay double of what I suppose to pay. read more

I often go for massages - most sessions are not memorable and many disappoint. But not this place. Iyara Thai blew my mind a little. I came in with a sore back and tight legs and Yaya made me feel brand new. BRAND NEW! The massage technique was more dynamic than most: at some parts she kneaded the skin with perfect pressure, at some parts she moved and stretched my legs and body in ways that felt unbelievably good to my achy muscles.
