Similar experience to my first Yoga--felt awesome, but couldn't walk afterwards for 3 days. One of the best massage that I have had, but I am sure I got an XY female as my masseuse. That very much tensed me up as I tend to avoid male masseuses. With his strength and my muscles all tensed up, I think I may have torn something. Will need serious cryotherapy. They should tell you ahead of time if one wants a 'true' male or female--I mean XX or XY. I personally don't have an issue with people being who they want to be, but if I am paying for services that involves touching, I should be able to choose. I come here every month. I recommend Sala, who works Wednesday and Thursday. She's petite but has good technique. She has a firm yet gentle touch, finding knots in the most random places (underarms and inner elbow). She told me I need to stretch/exercise whenever I get a chance because my muscles get tense from sitting at my desk for too long. Cant speak for the other therapists, but Sala does a great job. Also FYI, the walls are a bit thin and you can hear noise from the other office suites (phone/construction). read more

Been looking for a good Thai massage near or in Irvine for awhile and finally came across Iyara. It is so close to the gym and on my way home. How great right? It was awesome! I was told by the owner that I was one of the first Thai customer there since they have been opened (8 months), which I didn't find too odd as I am usually the only Thai person around in Irvine anyway. The spa was spacious and welcoming. Private rooms are very well decorated and clean. I know I can get a great massage in Thailand for much cheaper but hey, we are here. There are also many $15-20 foot massage places out there in Westminster but you really get what you pay for. At $49 introductory price. It was soooo well worth it. I mentioned that i had a trouble spot on my lower back and gluts. The masseuse ended up spending an extra 20 mins on me. She even asked if it was ok to spend more time on my back and hoped I had no appointment . Eh.... no i don't have to go anywhere. I do hope that the price stay as is. It is competitive and it would make it really compelling to make it there more often. The clincher was the bathroom, it was spotless clean. Need I say more. read more

I come from China where I'm used to a nice powerful massage, which they provide here, as well as a 'light' massage. This place gives very good massage. Although in my experience not as solid as Thai Bodywork, I would rather think that's the subtle difference between individual therapists. Anyway, the noise level can be pretty bad. There is opening on top between treatment rooms, and the wall to the neighboring unit is pretty thin, so it is not a quiet environment. Their summer special is awesome!!! $49 for an hour long massage. You get to choose between Swedish, Thai or combination. I love their hours as well, they are open from 10am til 10 pm so you don't have to rush there after work. A friend and I booked a same day appt for 8pm on a Friday night and both of us left extremely satisfied. One of the best Thai massages in Orange County. Sarah, April and Colby are all friendly, sweet and my massage with all three have been great. Their expert hands provide deep massage therapy without putting you in pain or tickling you. Without needing to provide details, they automatically felt for knots and knew exactly where to focus. April has a lighter more soothing massage and Colby can really get into knots and her stretches feel almost like a workout. Excellent massage and different from your typical Swedish massage. They do a combo Swedish with Thai stretching and it is perfect. Relaxing but with just the right amount of good pain. I wasn't sure what to expect from this place, but was pleasantly surprised! The asian ladies at the front were really nice, and my masseur, although very petite, was super strong! I have knots the size of boulders in my shoulders and it's very hard for masseurs to work them out, but she managed to work almost everything out! The Thai yoga stuff was great too, good stretches without being too much, and my masseur really seemed to know what she was doing. A friend of mine and I both went on the same day and we loved it so much we both booked another appointment right away! They only take cash or checks so be sure to hit the atm before you go. Decided to give this place a try after a long day of work. I got the whole treatment. 90min. Oil. Combo massage. Should've asked for TINA from the previous reviewers said about her. My masseuse was ok. There were certain times when it was good, and others I was like "ummm what are you doing ?" No hangers for your clothes. No consultation before the massage. She focused on the areas I asked her to (which is apparently a difficult thing to do for most foot massage places - following directions and understanding basic English). High quality and skillful work. Wouldn't come here based off overall professional ambience - lots of personal items hanging around (piano, exercise equipment, etc) and the bathroom, albeit clean and somewhat decorated, was neglected (old sink faucet, etc). Chaba Thai off 73/Jamborree (not the Newport one) is still better in that regard w a spa-like bathroom and start-to-finish spa-like service.
