They turned a dirty, drunken slob of a bar into a well designed East Side Stop! Long gone is the trail of beer drops that was Rascal's, and while that place will be missed... this is a exciting replacement. Bright, exposed brick, clean, many beers on tap, tastes for $1. Which may or may not annoy you. Fantastic weekend brunch Build Your Own Mimosa deal... aka 1 bottle $12, 2 for $18, 3 for $23! Can't be beat. First trip: Izzy's Creation Pizza - fair. Cheese was amazing, however the artichokes were blended in the cream cheese so you didn't really taste it. And way too much red sauce. Bartender was open to feedback which I hope was well-received as I think this pizza could be great! Big Ass Pretzel: Needed a little more time to get soft in center ,however the beer cheese was amazing. We added a side of the Giardinera Aioli to the pretzel - but it ended up being great with the pizza. Think I'll need to try the burger next time. read more

Stopped by for a quick bite and had decent sandwiches, friendly service and unbeknownst to us, it was bingo night! My teenager had a burger which he claimed wasn't any better than Culver's. It looked average to me, nothing to write home about. I ate the chicken Parmesan sandwich which was fine. It wasn't bad, it wasn't anything to rave about. We satisfied our hunger, to say the least. The sandwiches came with homemade chips which were pretty good, just wished they came with a dipping sauce to liven them up. As mentioned, our service was friendly, she was excellent and we had a fun time playing bingo since we stopped in on bingo night! We only stayed for one round ($1 per card) and didn't win but still was fun. If I found myself over on this side of town I might stop back to try some appetizers but not likely have another sandwich since I wasn't impressed and life is too short for mediocre food! read more

Izzy Hops is my favorite hangout spot on the East Side! It's really aesthetically pleasing and a cozy spot to bring friends or a date. They have 30 taps, including some limited release and exclusive beers, and if you can't make up your mind of which one to get then make a flight! Izzy Hops also has a ton of whiskey to choose from and those come in flights as well. This is the spot to become a whiskey connoisseur. The food is always delicious, and there are plenty of options for group sharing or a big sandwich that you can bring half to work with you the next day! As a Chicagoan, I have good taste in Italian beef sandwiches and let me tell you, Izzy Hops has my favorite beef in the city. Overall, I love hanging out at this bar. The staff makes you feel like you're at home. They all have a great sense of humor and a good eye for food/drink recommendations that will make your experience exceptional. I was at Izzy Hops for a celebration. The food, drinks, and staff could not have been better! I had a burger with bacon and several beers, and I honestly have never had a better burger. The beer selection is outstanding! And our waitstaff was amazingly attentive and quick, in spite of the fact that we had a rather large crowd and the rest of the bar was busy as well. I love the ambiance too. This was my second time there, and I'm definitely going to be a regular. I can't wait until it's warm enough to hang out on their patio! read more

Izzy Hops is a neat addition to the North Ave area. The interior really is nicely redone, with a beautiful wooden bar and very warm and cozy lighting. The food and drink options I've had have all been very solid choices. They have a yummy mushroom sandwich for vegetarians and the homemade chips really hit the spot. My only complaint is that their brunch, though appealing with the bottomless mimosa feature, has very limited vegetarian options. That being said, when we found that they didn't have their regular features during brunch hours they graciously made an exception for us. So great service! I really hope it does well here. read more

PSA Wow! This place is wonderful. We came to Milwaukee from Chicago and were looking for a brunch place with bottomless mimosas. Its absolutely bonkers at how hard it is to find a good mimosa joint. There was another review for this place that was fantastic which made us decide to come here. The mimosa deal is amazingly cheap and the cheese curds are magical. It almost makes financial sense to take the Amtrak here every Saturday, have brunch here, and go back than to go to brunch in Chicago. My only negative is that there is a massive photo of Aaron Rogers on the wall People need to check this place out!!! read more

Im a fan! Izzy Hops is just off North Ave, a busy area on the east side of Milwaukee. If you're looking for good beer in a nice bar, this is the spot! They have $2 off all drinks during happy hour. They also have BINGO every Wednesday and it is a blast. Winners get a fun gift from the bar! It's a classy establishment but also is very fun and casual. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good happy hour or drinks with friends. I'm looking forward to going back // maybe getting some food next time. read more

30 beers on tap and a beautiful bar more upscale then anything else on North ave. Bars have been closing shop left and right on North so it will be interesting to see if this place makes it. Food was solid - nachos were huge with tasty pulled pork, but missing a few toppings, coming with only tomatoes and olives. The Parmesan chips are tasty. I will say that $8 for craft beer is a little high for Milwaukee and especially North ave, but they did have several Wisconsin and Midwest based brews priced more reasonably at $5-6 dollars. Come for the craft beer but so far the food is nothing to rave about. read more

Tried out the Izzy Hops for brunch on a Sunday before going to see a movie at Oriental. This is a great location for brunch places, so I'm surprised there aren't more. The place was more like a bar than a restaurant, which I wasn't expecting, but it's not a bad thing either. The waitress was attentive and nice. I had the breakfast burrito. It was huge. I cut it in two to take half home. Lots of veggies and very flavorful. I enjoyed it, but it could be smaller. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy. Said it was uniquely made. I haven't had this dish before, so I can't say, but he finished his meal. I would go to Izzy Hops again, but later in the day. There wasn't anyone else there when we visited. Maybe not enough people know that they can get brunch on the East Side? It seems like the kind of place that is hopping later at night. It's a nice bar/restaurant. read more

stopped in for some apps and drinks and ordered beers that we didn't enjoy, took one sip and immediately told the bartender that we didn't want them and ordered something else. at the end of our experience, we saw that we were charged for all three beers fully without having drinking them and an auto gratuity of 18% for three people. cannot find anywhere on the website where it mentions an auto gratuity. most restaurants will comp drinks that you didn't drink or didn't enjoy. strange experience overall especially with the 18% gratuity for 3 people. read more

Omg! Izzy Hop's is life!! The music, the food, the bartenders! Paul, Nadia, Tyler, Anthony, and Maddie literally make you feel like you're they're best friend. The cozy cream city brick and oak bar adds such a Warmness to the place. But my favorite part is when the front windows, which are garage doors, open In the summer, and the vibe really begins. The service was fine. It took a little long for every aspect of our meal, though. The atmosphere is nice. Homey and lively enough without being too loud. My drink was good, I got a hot apple cider with peanut butter whiskey, which I definitely enjoyed. The food was fine, but nothing special. They offer chips or fries with sandwiches, but fries are extra, and they don't tell you that unless you ask. The chips taste good, but aren't incredibly special. If you're looking for a fancy place to see and be seen, this might be the place. Nice decor, really pretty back bar, and good sound system playing retro tunes at conversation levels. Basically, lots of attention to decorating detail. Good draft beer selection too, but not have-a-few cheap. And our server was nice. But we went mainly for food. And having dropped $35 for a burger, eggplant Parmesan sandwich, and a beer each ... Well, we were pretty underwhelmed. I've seen a parm sandwich better rendered at a high school cafeteria. And the high-end burgers at Jack's would give this one a run for its money. Oh well. Our search for a dependably good dinner place within walking distance continues. read more

We walked into this establishment and they were playing club music loudly at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon. The bar chairs were so tightly packed at the bar that I couldn't squeeze through (I am 5'2" and 115 lbs). My bf moved one chair and added it to a table behind us so that we could squeeze in. The black bartender scolded us saying that we just can't come in and start moving furniture around. I honestly was shocked. My bf explained that we couldn't get in, but the rude bartender made another ignorant comment. The other male bartender was taken back as well. This is such a great area and we had a fantastic time at the other establishments we visited earlier. This was our first time in the area. It's apparent that this establishment does not want any new business clearly. We are a 50 yo cpl and have never been treated so rudely. Would absolutely not recommend this place!! I love North Ave and I am thrilled to finally have a hip spot that has good food and ambiance. The garage doors open up to the street, the patio is awesome with a glass roof and the service is consistent. All 3 visits have been consistent. The food was delicious and service spot on. I ordered the Italian Beef sandwich and buffalo chicken tenders on one visit and craved it so much I came back w a friend in Friday. Delicious! My friend had cod sliders, amazing. Let's talk staff. Knowledgeable on their 30+ craft beers and bourbons. All extremely friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a go to before a movie at the theatre or a date night, this is it. Can't forget the Trivia on Tuesday's and Bingo on Wednesday's I believe. Very fun and social. read more

This is by far the best bar in mke. Like to the point where I've told multiple employees and my friends to make sure that it happened that i want a portion of my ashes to be sprinkled over the bar. Like this place is the most important place in my life, I've talked about the bartender Thomas before but my god the bartender nick, like f*****g wow, he's great I don't know anybody better to run a bar than them. We had a friends gathering for brunch on saturday during which they had bottomless mimosas (and bloody mary's). I ordered breakfast burrito: it was OK. They dont have bottomless mimosas anymore. I also have been here on couple of thursday nights: they have a deal for flights on thursdays if i remember correctly. Their bar food is good too.
