I really liked this place. They had delicious coffee and many different options to choose from. It had a starbucks vibe to it but in my opinion, they had better coffee. I got a cappuccino and had nothing to complain about. They also serve food but I didn't eat anything , so I can't speak to that. They also had kid friendly options like hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate and steamed milk. I would highly recommend this place!! I ordered the blueberry tea and a blueberry scone. I love the set up of this place. Great little coffee spot. Great location. I will have to review again once I try the espresso. It was too late in the afternoon for me to order that, but I usually judge a coffeehouse on their espresso and coffee. However, I am picky about tea and this one was great... good color, good brew. I would have liked a little more ice since they do free refills. I will be back, to have more tea, and to try the espresso. So far, I love this place. read more

Not bad coffee, their plastic things to keep your hand protected from the heat of the coffee is a really bad idea.

J&B is basically my home several times during the week. While the library may be more quiet and sedate, I'd much rather study somewhere I can purchase tea/coffee/food as I please (although their lunch hours aren't the best). The place can get quite noisy at times but pop a pair of foam ear plugs in and you're good to go. Plus, the wifi has yet to fail me. Their veggie sandwich is delicious and fresh as well as their Temple of Heaven loose leaf green tea (pretty much the only thing I get here...creature of habit, you know). Oh, and when in season their pumpkin spice latte is to die for -- may I be bold enough to say its better than Starbucks?! read more

I was really excited to try this place today, but was disappointed by how RUDE the service was!! The second I got there I felt judged by the staff, and with confusion by how disorganized the tickets were, I grabbed the wrong coffee. When I went to return it even though I didn't drink out of it, the lady was extremely rude. Never coming here again. read more

Second semester at TTU, I was ready to get out and explore some local places. There was a lot of hype for this place, and it lived up to it! It was a lot nicer on the inside than I expected. Very tasteful and classy, and a decent amount of space. It was pretty crowded, but I was able to find a comfortable place to sit in the back room in relative silence. I've heard sometimes you can go upstairs to somewhere even quieter, but it was chained off when I was there. No big deal. I got a 16 oz Greek Treat and it was awesome. It was a latte made with Irish cream, and had great foam on the top. Got some leaf art too. Delicious coffee. They've got complimentary water cups that aren't tiny, and a self-serve water jug that gets refilled regularly. Great service, great coffee, great atmosphere. The only negative was that the wifi can be a little spotty. Not a big deal to reconnect, but still a little annoying if you need the internet for homework. Really looking forward to coming back and trying new flavors and food. read more

Worst coffee shop in Lubbock. Not only did the jolly green giant of a "barista" talk down to me but he served me a latte with sour milk. The only way milk tastes sour is if you resteam milk that has already been steamed. I also watched him walk away from his milk pitcher while steaming milk. No wonder the milk struggle is real. I've been a barista for 4 years and have never witnessed such blatant disregard for quality. Go elsewhere. You'll be better off. read more

J and B is a great coffee shop. We meet there every Friday for a school get together. Their menu is huge, the people can recommend anything for any taste, there are plenty of places to sit down, and their back room is big for special occasions. I love this place. read more

I heard J&B Coffee was the oldest coffee shop in town so I had to check it out. J&B Coffee is the best coffee shop I have ever been to- opened in 1979 but has surpassed the times! Their atmosphere is classy enough for a business meeting yet eclectic with a charm of its own. I asked the staff about the building- you can tell it is old. It was a movie theater in the 50's and the upstairs room is the old projector room. A place you must go! Plenty of plugs, free wifi, great menu and bakery items, a huge back room, cool chalk art art in the back room done by a barista. The baristas are knowledgeable and helpful. Reading the reviews don't give this place enough credit- this is a little piece of Austin in the heart of Lubbock. read more

Hands down best coffee in town. No doubt about that! However I hate the overcrowded and cliquy environment. It's over packed with college students, which don't get me wrong, I was one of them but it makes it impossible to sit down and enjoy my coffee. I am a college student and I came to J&B to study on a Sunday afternoon. Before I came I stopped to grab lunch to have while I was studying. I find the prices of food very high for the little portion you receive here, that is why I choose to purchase my lunch elsewhere. When I sat down, immediately a worker came to my table and informed me about the no outside food or drink rule and literally hovered over me until I removed my UNTOUCHED food from the premises. I felt this was very rude and I think I should have been given a warning to not bring it again. Also if they want people to buy their food they shouldn't ask unreasonable amounts for it either. Not happy to say the least. Will not be back. read more

This is the second time that we had a vendor pay J&B Coffee Co. to come out and provide our employees with complimentary coffee. And for the second time the coffee was the WORST coffee I have ever had. It was like drinking hot water with a hint of coffee. I have been a faithful customer to J&B for years, but I will no longer frequent this establishment as the quality of product and service that they are now providing is so far below acceptable standards. read more
