DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE !!! I bought a car from this shop a week ago and while My boyfriend and I were driving it home right after purchasing it, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE !!!! Just a couple minutes into the ride home the car started to sound really weird almost as if The car was a semi truck but I just kept reassuring myself that it was my first car ever and of course I wasn't going to have a luxury car. I paid $4000 for it so I didn't expect it to ride smooth. Anyways half way home my boyfriend saw smoke coming out of the hood. We stopped immediately, at first I was like okay maybe it just over heated. But I was wrong !! Soon the fire engulfed the car. We called them and the son who fixes the cars at this lot told us he'd give us our money back and offer a huge discount on another car. I felt good and happy but then when we went to go check out the other cars his dad George was so rude from the start, really defensive for no reason and not letting me see all of the cars while I on the other hand was being nice and polite. I work in customer service so I know how to get my point across without giving attitude. He told us that he was not going to give us a discount and that the car caught on fire because we were probably going fast. We did not drive above 40 mph but even if we did the car shouldn't have caught on fire. Then he said if we didn't like what he was saying then he'd give us our money back and we could leave. I said "okay that's fine but whose going to pay for what burned with the car?" I had just pumped $20 of gas and I left a Belkin aux with an adapter (plus other stuff). He asked me "you're really crying over $20?" How rude and insensitive!! I was complaining about how I could've lost mine and my boyfriends life! Or we could have been seriously injured! I told him "no I'm crying over the fact that that was a terrible experience." He said "I'm not crying over $3,000 loss!" Like sir you bought this car at an auction for less than $1,000. All in all, so rude and unprofessional here. Please for your own safety do not buy a car from here. read more

I live in chino but since I experienced the quintessential service here, I won't go anywhere else. I have found what I've been looking for in a shop! I don't say this lightly, because I've had bad experiences in the past with other mechanics, so being a female with a 2006 car that needs work, finding someone I can trust with my baby is such a HUGE relief. I've had the pleasure of working with George Sr. and George Jr. Both are courteous, very polite, professional, straight to the point and extremely trustworthy which is what I was looking for! It'd be easy to take advantage of my lack of knowledge in vehicles and my desperation to have my car fixed (rack and pinion gave out completely), but I was so happy with their work. They had the best prices, very fair, completed the work very fast, no fuss, no upselling, just straight to the point, great work. They are also very courteous and polite. Can't remember the old guy that runs this place, but this shop is about as real as it gets. Your traditional mom and pop shop, honest, trying to earn a buck!! Got my oxygen sensors replaced here a few years ago, then had my window motor also replaced last year. Very reasonable prices and the guy just gets it done! I'm very sad to report this... Customer beware! Last week 4/05/23 I brought my truck in for service and a Smog check. The service was fine. I was told to put about 50 to 60 miles on the truck and return for the smog check. Sadly, I brought the truck back yesterday 4/10/23. I pulled in and parked. George's employee met us and begun starting the truck. He intentionally started flooding the truck so it wouldn't start. He told me it was the fuel pump and it failed when I parked it. He left to get a rubber mallet and returned, started banging underneath.. George can out and also said it was the fuel pump. I was told to replace it was going to be $700 plus labor and will need to leave the truck. I know a bit about cars and wasn't believing what I was just told. Knowing this, I let the truck sit for 15 mins and proceeded to start the truck. It confirmed the employee acted intentionally. I told George to cancel the service. George than asked me, oh since its running fine do I still want the smog test? Nope! These people proved to me of not being honest with their customers and willing to intentionally setup failure for monetary gain from unsuspected customers. Not a way to run your business George!!! read more

I came here just for an inspection and to have them screw back on a the tire guard on my front bumper tire after running over a piece of furniture on the freeway. George fixed it immediately and said Merry Christmas. Of course I gave him $20 but in this day of age I respect a business who has the compassion to help someone in need. George is fair and helps senior citizens with their cars. So this is the place to go to for an oil change or for him to work on your car. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! We drove down from Washington to visit family and our Yukon started acting up on us. We took it to Lowell's, my mom's go-to auto shop, who told us (without much inspection of the problem) that we needed to rebuild the transmission ... a $2200+ job. My FIL suggested we take it to J & S because they are always honest, are super thorough and do great work. I couldn't agree more!!!! After a SUPER thorough inspection, they found a loose carriage nut and a missing one. They dug through the shop drawers and found the exact nut we needed, tightened them both up and we were on our way in less than 30 minutes and for $25!!! We are so, so grateful for the honesty and thoroughness of the guys at this shop. We'll be sending all of our Fontana folks their way!!!! read more
