Also staff was very helpful with choosing between the mushroom dish which turned out to be the right choice. She thought fried mushrooms wouldn't be fresh if ordering takeout. Only complaint is the dish was spicy - although done right without hot sauce but with peppers - Cantonese dishes usually more nuanced flavors. Seems heavy northern Chinese or western Chinese influence.

Far too often among Asian restaurants in the Bay, the menus are quite similar and the dishes taste like they were made with the same recipes. But here the menu had so much more flavor, variety, and creativity! It turns out that Veggie Lee was previously featured in a Michelin Guide to California, and after eating their food I'm not surprised. We ordered five dishes here and all of them were delicious. Each had varying intricate flavors, and unique ingredients. The Shark's Fin Bamboo Fungus Soup was a pleasant and interesting start to the meal. Followed by two dishes that I'll highly recommend: the Lemon Grass Bean Curd and the Pea Leaves with Abalone Mushrooms. The Pinenuts w/Tooms Fried Rice went great with all of these. Portions were huge and we had plenty of leftovers. We were too full for the desserts or Boba, but very excited to come back and try next time.

I forgot to take a picture of the garlic sriracha wings, but they were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sweet and spicy. We also ordered the chicken larb, the short rib massaman curry, and the Tamarind Tara cocktail. Everything was delicious, and the cocktail was a great complement to the meal. The standout dish is the short rib massaman curry. The moment we took our first bite, we both looked at each other because it was that good! The short rib was incredibly tender and literally fell off the bone. The curry was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it easily became the favorite dish of the night. Overall, we had a great experience with delicious food, great service, and a fun atmosphere for celebrating. I loved it so much that I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

The restaurant itself is small and cute, but my mom and I were seated right away at around noonish on Sunday! That might have been because everyone was busy at world cup parties, though. We ordered: - thai iced teas - the khao hom waffle - samosas - roti with curry dip - koong karee The thai teas were unfortunately on the milky side, and weren't very strong tasting. I recommend the lychee iced tea instead! When I used to go, I always got the thai tea pancake but they have since removed it from their menu. Although this was a pretty devastating revelation, I went with their waffle instead. I thought that the waffle still super delicious, and I loved that it had coconut meat cooked into the batter. It comes garnished with fruit and coconut flakes, which was a plus. While I thought it was a delicious choice, I do not think it was a proper replacement for my thai tea pancake. The samosas and roti were both so delicious, flavorful, and savory. The portions aren't huge, but the flavors make up for it. The koong karee was the star of the show! The prawns were so well cooked, and came in the most delicious egg & curry sauce. I loved the vegetables that came in the dish, as well. You can't go wrong with the tiger prawns, and they go so well with some jasmine rice on the side. Overall, we keep coming back for good reason! The food is always so yummy, and I would definitely recommend you give this place a try. I hope they take this review as a plea for them to bring the thai tea pancake back, though! It was that good. Regardless, I will be back!

I love all places that have a theme that sets them apart from other establishments. Especially ones that have names for their menu items that are jovial. There's ample seating and the place is fun inside, with comic books on the walls, toys displayed and bright colors everywhere it really gives a burst of dopamine when you come in. We were greeted initially by the gentleman at the counter. He was super friendly and asked if we had any questions. Idk bout yall but when we go somewhere and the person refers to you as "boss" you can kinda feel the vibe that you're gonna get good service. And it was exactly spot on. The dude helped us with questions we had and after ordering let us know he'd bring our food to us. We waited a couple mins and our food came out! Initially my first thought was "damn, they're not stingy with their portions here!" We opted for the Goku fries and a regular Deadpool sandwich. It being our first time we wanted to try different flavors. BRUH, that food smacked SO HARD! We slammed everything and kept saying, wow this is good. The ingredients were fresh, the green sauce (whatever it is) was delicious on our sandwich! We will for sure be back & tell all of our friends about this place!

We tried the Ed Edd and Eddy and the Mr. Burns. Both were really good on Dutch crunch. We also customized our sandwiches by adding pickles, banana peppers and onions. I believe the sandwich comes with the standard lettuce and tomato. Easy place to grab a solid sandwich in my opinion. Can't go wrong with any of them. We'll be back to try their fries and other sandwiches.

The food ended up being the masterpiece. We essentially tried to defeat the menu and the menu won. 10/10, no notes. The Highlights: Hawaiian Sliders: Absolutely bomb. The perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about them 24 hours later. Crispy Quesatacos with Chicken Tinga: Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. It's hard to find chicken Tinga in a crispy Quesataco this authentic in a pop-up setting, but they nailed it flavor bomb Pupusas & Tacos: My friend and I went in on these and they did not disappoint. The pupusa was thick, cheesy, and had that perfect crisp on the outside. The Verdict: There wasn't a single miss on the menu. I even grabbed an extra haul to take home to my husband--usually, "to-go" food loses its soul on the car ride home, but he was obsessed. I'm already checking their schedule to see where they'll be next. If you want to eat the best food in San Francisco right now, this is it.

The wait was significant, but they were super upfront about that, which I appreciated. The chicken tinga was the standout - super tasty! The pork was also really nice, but be warned, the quesataco is rich and filling. I couldn't quite make it. The asado was nice, but basic. Overall, very solid!

The last few times I have been in the staff have been so friendly and patient while the people I keep bringing read through the menu and make their choices. My parents have come here plenty of times and I got to try it for the first time- so of course I had to get a taco plate to try various "proteins" and their rice & beans. Asada is hands down my favorite (and my dad's). They said they make it in house too! Bonus points for places that make their alternative meats. I also got their shrimp and tinga tacos. I didn't realize the shrimp was going to be battered and fried- so that was a bummer for me since I don't like fried food (I'll blame that on not eating meat so not knowing how an actual shrimp taco would be prepared). BUT the shrimp was tasty! Tinga (king oyster mushroom) was shredded so finely, so you couldn't really see the mushroom, but the flavor was there! 3/3 yummy tacos! Rice and beans were super super plain but prepared well. Rico Rico gives plastic bags to tear and squeeze of an avocado green sauce and a red salsa- both delicious. Outdoor seating is nice!
