I have to honestly say I liked this place better before I realized it was a chain. The service and ambiance were diner-like, no complaints there. The food portions are large, and you will leave full. There are lots of egg and pancake options but nothing that is memorable. They do not have flavored coffees (just plain coffee with flavored syrups to add) which was a bit dissapointing. All in all, exactly what you would expect from a breakfast/brunch menu, with nothing to write home about. I might be back if the corn beef hash type of mood strikes me, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for a meal. What happened to this place? We used to come almost every weekend with the entire family. It seems that the manager changed to someone named 'Barry' and the place got worse! We called ahead since the in-laws were joining us for father's day. When we arrived, we let the hostess know we got there. There was a table ready for us according to the hostess and then Barry comes over and sits another party instead of us and said that 'call aheads' don't count. I argued that regardless of the call ahead, we were ahead of the 'friend' you are about to seat. He didn't care and didn't even apologize. Due to the wait, we begrudgingly decided to sit outside. It was hot and when we asked to be seated inside after melting for 20 minutes, the hostess said that the manager said no. My kids were sweating and literally melting that we had to even come inside to cool off a bit. Even the hostess seemed apologetic for this new manager's behavior. The food took almost 25 minutes to come out and we were the most unsatisfied we've ever been.... and it was father's day. We'll be going to Egg Harbor off of Roswell Road from now on, where the restaurant is much bigger and the manager actually cares and plays fair. read more

So disappointed. I used to love this place and we came every week for breakfast. After a few weeks away, we decided to return for some eggs Benedict. The restaurant was half empty. We asked of we could sit at the bar. "the bar is closed..." no big deal. We sat at a table for 10 minutes without so much as a "hello" or "I'll be right with you" while we watched servers chatting away in full view of our table. This place is dirty. The window that I am sitting next to is covered in dust and yuck. The cream for my coffee came out in this nasty pourer that hasn't been washed in a week. The people aren't friendly like the other I christophers I got to. They are in the corner talking im Spanish and not attending to costumers. The coffee is weak and the food isn't up to standards. I have had brunch here plenty of times. They always have attentive and polite wait staff and great menu items. It is a little pricey and they don't serve alcohol. (What's brunch without mimosas?) it's more of an ihop type family place but still. If they served alcohol I'd give 5 stars. read more

Went at 11:15 on a Sunday expecting to wait as there was a crowd across the street at First Watch. While there was about a 15-20 minute wait, many of the tables were empty. It is SO LOUD in there you can't hear the person across the table. I think they only had 2-3 servers for the whole restaurant. I had not been there in many years and had a craving for Eggs Benedict. It was suggested that I have the Eggs Christopher which is one of their signature dishes. It came out cold, gelatinous, and the potatoes where just shy of burnt. Our server brought us coffee and left the pot on the table so we could refill ourselves. When I went to pour more there wasn't anything in the pot. Sadly I was with my friend who was celebrating her 60th birthday. At the table next to us were 2 boys around 13-14 who did not have any adult with them. They sat and played a game with all of the creams on the table the whole time while posting on social media! Where were their parents?! Stake and Shake has much better skillets and pan cakes for less $$$. Everytime I order a pancake at J Christopher it tastes dry and stale. The skillet is just ok but the skillet at steak and shake is much much better. J Christopher always gets young high school kids to serve your table but they don't always know what they are doing. read more

Good food, poor service. We were the second table in on Memorial Day and the only table there for the majority of our visit. We simply didn't receive great service for the number of staff that was there. Also the lid came off of our maple syrup as my husband was pouring it on his pancakes. Horrible!!! My friends were throwing me and another friend a baby shower there and they completely messed up our reservation. It was confirmed the day before but somehow they totally forgot 22 of us were coming. They said it would be another 45 minutes until we could have our tables. We all walked out and found another restaurant that took us immediately. Do not go here! So rude! read more

Similar to ihop except it taste homemade and not as greasy. Price is about 8-10$. Just one of those places to try.

This restaurant used to be great for breakfast. No longer! The food is ALWAYS cold! The grits and pancakes want melt butter and the staff while they try are untrained. The manager has no hustle, very nice but not producing. My husband will not come here any longer but I gave it another try by myself today and won't be back. I sat at the counter and the plates sit in the window until they are cold. The cook either doesn't prepare for the whole table at once, or the staff toasting and prepping the plates have no clue. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! First time visiting J Christopher's on Wednesday 7/3/19 @ 9:15 am and the service and food was not what was expected. The restaurant was not crowded at all. We were seated quickly and the waitress took a little long to come over. Upon placing our order when the food came out it was lukewarm. Didn't complain. We asked for ketchup and it took her so long to bring it back to us. No one came and asked how we were doing can I get you anything or nothing. The manager stood around watching and as people were finishing he immediately starting picking up plates and asking was there anything he could get for them. The waitress came and dropped the check off, still did not offer more water, or pick up plates. She didn't come back to get payment. We walked up to her to give her the payment and at the end when she was bringing our receipt back the manager comes and says and I quote "let me move some of these plates for you and make myself a little useful". I said and I quote "It's about time we've only watched you do it for everyone else, you guys have poor customer service". I will not be going back here.. Poor PR and CS... As we were being seated, a family was walking out and the hostess was apologizing and the woman said, "the service was horrendous! It was my daughter's birthday and you ruined it!" I thought she was being a total b****. However, it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to even acknowledge us. He took our drink and food order at the same time. After 30 minutes of waiting for our drinks, my boyfriend had to ask the hostess. The waiter came over and verified our order with us (seriously?) and our food ended up already being ready so we got our food before our drinks. The food was good but the service was ridiculously slow. Also, I think it's important to note that the two white women that walked in after us had the same waiter and got their drinks almost immediately. Then, he made them chocolate milk and took their order and IGNORED us. Not sure if it's because my boyfriend and I have different ethnic backgrounds but I felt completely ignored there.
