    Lobster Bisque

How great! We went during happy hour so it was $3 off the price of appetizers! We started with bowls of lobster bisque, then we shared crab rangoon, shrimp, calamari, and brussel sprouts! This was so good to share the both of us. We had leftovers. Service was great at the bar! They were really busy. The interior is as pictured, it's very spacious!

Taste was great, but it cost a ton. Didn't get much salmon in the salad. I'm also confused on the type of place. It was fancy and offered a variety of dishes...but I'm not really sure who it best represented. Perhaps an upscale Asian restaurant but at the same time trying to appeal to the American customers. Lighting, noise level, and spacing was enjoyable for our large group.

I had lunch there with a large group of 10 or 12. The waitress was attentive at first - got our drinks and took our orders. Then we waited a long time for our food. Considering that they were not at all busy, this was puzzling. Oh well. My salmon salad was very good. Then, we had to wait again to get our checks. I went up there at some point and she assured me that she was getting them ready. At that point, they were still not at all busy. Just a few tables at the south end of the restaurant and a few more at the north end. I'd hate to go there when they're busy.

I really enjoy J. Liu. It has many options on the menu and the service is always consistent. I've had JoJo a few times and she's very attentive. My go to is the Tuna poke bowl. Lots of ingredients and great flavor. I've seen other meals and they all look good. Large venue with an event space upstairs!

    Disappointing salmon

The amount of salmon you get for a $19 salad is really sad. I will not order here again.

I liked how fresh their veggies were and when they ran out of one thing, they quickly replaced it. I made sure to grab some Napa cabbage, bok choy, enoki mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, tofu skins, and beef. The beef was slightly frozen, which was a good sign because I led feel iffy about eating raw beef that was sitting out at room temp for a long time. They have an assortment of ramen so also got a pack of seafood ramen and was able to split it with my friend. In terms of choosing your ramen flavor, seasoning doesn't matter as much as noodle texture because they just use the noodles and toss the seasoning away. Once you get to the check out, they weigh your bowl and you can pay. The build your own bowls range from about $13-15 per pound and you can choose between dry or soup bowls and spicy or mild. I got the spicy mala soup bowl and it was medium spicy (4/10 for me). If you want more seasoning, there's a sauce bar that has cilantro, garlic, oil, hoisin, and other sauces. They cook the bowl for you and bring it to your table. I liked how they cut the fish balls in half to make them easier to eat. Everything was cooked well but the flat rice noodles got a bit soggy. They also have rice bowls and bingsoo (shaved ice) for dessert. By the time I finished my bowl, I was very full but I'll have to try their other dishes next time. In terms of pricing, if you're not a big eater, it would be a good option compared to all you can eat places since you can control the amount of ingredients and you don't have to feel the pressure of trying to finish all your food. They have containers for leftovers so you can take some home if you want!

The ingredients were fresh and plenty to choose from. I just wish they had the meats, veggies and other ingredients labeled, there were some labels but most of the ingredients were not labeled. Also, having a pork option would be great :) but overall a great place, really delicious.
