This is a small ramen storefront in a big shopping center on Harbor. Although I've been there several times for lunch, I've never had to wait for a table, even though there are only a handful of tables in the restaurant. There are many ramen options, plus traditional add-ons, as well as a number of side dishes. I've enjoyed both the tonkatsu miso ramen and the tonkatsu black ramen -- both had flavorful, rich broth, tender pork, and fresh vegetables. The takoyaki were tasty nuggets of octopus -- but the fried baby octopus were even better. If you're going for octopus, go for it! Service was quick and efficient and there were a lot of fellow patrons clearly on their lunch break, too.

This is a hidden little ramen spot in a shopping center in Fullerton. It's tiny but the food is decent. The service was quick. I got the chicken ramen and it was super filling. I'd say it was average as far as ramen goes. While it was decent, my chicken was a tad bit dry.

Wanted some ramen and curry so we stopped in. It was nice to have a simple and concise menu that still offered a good variety. Husband got the Tonkotsu Spicy Miso and I got the Tonkotsu Miso + Level 2 spicy, and we shared the larger curry bowl (my ramen had a spicier kick whereas my husband's had a warmer overall heat to it). Everything was super tasty and I particularly enjoyed the slight noodle chew from the perfectly cooked noodles. Service was quick and attentive. Appreciated there wasn't too much small talk and we got straight to the food. Smaller spot so it may get busy quickly. Worth the wait. For sure we will be back.

The food was absolutely amazing! I devoured every bite, and it left me craving more. The service was quick and efficient. Though the store is on the smaller side. The ambiance reminds me of ramen shops in Japan. It's definitely a spot worth trying if you get the chance!

Came here on a whim to eat ramen late night and we were pleas surprised w the quality and flavor! My party of four opted to get the ramen combo, which came with an appetizer for $5 extra. We got one of each appetizer and they were all delicious! The favorite was the Squid Karagge and everything was pretty crispy. The tonkatsu miso ramen had pretty solid and bold flavor and we appreciated that it came with half an egg, although a full egg would be nice as well. I loved the corn topping and felt the bowl came together nicely. Service was quick for it just being one guy working. Major props to getting our food out at a good time but still being delicious. Ambiance is clean, I've seen this ramen place driving by but never actually stopped to dine here. So glad to have done so though and we will definitely be coming back!

Nothing beats ramen for cold weather eats. I'm also excited to find another ramen spot w curry katsu! I wasn't hungry enough for both. But I'll definitely be back to give the curry a try. It's a small spot but conveniently located near a boba place. I need a milk tea w my spicy ramen. They were kind enough to put the spice on the side so I could spice it to my liking. My friend added spinach on the side and also got the shrimp tempura. The tempura was funny looking to me cuz it was all squared off on the edges so I'm not sure how/why they do that. But I wish they had tempura dipping sauce w it instead of what looked like maybe a spicy mayo. I took home my leftovers in separate containers for broth and noodles and enjoyed my leftovers the next day. It was just as yummy if not more so because the spice settled into the ramen. I recommend this unassuming ramen spot for after a day of shopping at all the nearby retailers - target, Costco, Tilly's, and so much more.

The ramen I got was good until the broth (a major component of eating ramen) started tasting overly salty, like MSG level salty. Also, the AC was blasting in the evening and it was still wintertime when I ate here, yes this is a late review lol. It was overly freezing inside to comfortably enjoy my ramen bowl. Don't know if I'd recommend J San Ramen, as there are many other ramen spots deserving of going to instead.

I've ordered from them on Grubhub before but this was the first time that I've been in person. I orders the tonkotsu black ramen. The ramen was good with a nice sized portion of noodles and the broth wasn't super heavy but the flavor still packed a punch. My favorite part was the char siu on top because the edges were a little bit crispy and it went perfectly with the flavor of the broth and noodles. The only major thing that I wish was that I got both halves of the soft boiled egg because it was cooked perfectly and had a nice soft centered. The shop is on the smaller size with around 10 booths give or take. The staff was friendly and got everything out in a timely manner, so I think I'll come back here when I have a ramen craving.

I kept seeing this spot on my way home and I couldn't wait untill they opened up for business. nothing beats a bowl of hot ramen after a long day at work. Lost my service in less than 5 minutes!!! I was waiting outside to be seated when the worker there asked me "how many" I said four then he asked a question I couldn't quite hear so I said, "sorry, what was that?" Tell me why he raised his voice at me sooooo loudly and said "DO YOU WANT TO SIT OUTSIDE OR INSIDE!" Never coming here again. Even a stranger walking out told me "I wouldn't wait to be seated even after he just yelled at you" fuck this. So disrespectful. read more

Had this couple weeks back and is one of the only one I go back to review for. Decent atmosphere nothing fancy. Respectful waiter/cook. The black tonkatsu was especially good. The best thing about the place is the soup taste just right. Alot of places eventhough with high yelp review have a way too salty of a soup. Conclusion, must try. read more

A. Pure. Gem. Their spicy tonkotsu miso Ramen is absolutely perfect. Everything from the flavor and texture of the noodles to the soft boiled egg was delicious. I also tried their karaage and it actually tasted like karaage rather than a basic fried chicken and good lord, it was so juicy. I highly highly highly recommend this place. read more

Ramen is okay. Not outstanding but not too bad either. You will get your craving fixed if you are craving ramen but not as good as other authentic Japanese ramen places like kitakata. I do t think ramen here is authentic Japanese tho. read more

Won't be coming back. Got the vegetable ramen.. definitely was overpriced & they do not serve tofu so that sucks for vegans/vegetarians whose only option is that one veggie ramen dish... paid 15 for dinner & yet was still hungry just was not enough of noodles or veggies portions were small for the price. I went here with my son and we both enjoyed this ramen the noodles had good flavor along with the corn and seaweed the pork melts in your mouth and overall it was quite enjoyable. Final verdict: I would most definitely come here again. read more

I was driving by the area and decided to try this place. I've been there twice now, both ordered to go. Ramens are delicious. I had the Shoyu ramen. I loved it. My kids had the chicken ramen and they were very happy with it. We had Gyoza which were good. Also the spicy tuna roll which was small but a perfect side. And the Chashu bowl which is a good portion. If you're not to hungry that is perfect because it comes with a bed of rice. Overall great service and delicious food. read more

I went on September 26 in the night time and all the tables were filled. Nobody greeted us at the door, so I walked to the register and I ask if I can dine In on the outside patio and a guy said yes there was only 2 gentleman there, my fiancé and I waited for 15 min nobody went out. I walked to the register again and I confirmed they were short staffed, the gentleman multitasking apologized and took my order and had it ready for me ASAP to go. We brought it home and omg hands down the best ramen, worth the wait! They need more employees but the employees there know wassup and they make the ramen so delicious read more

I got the tonkotsu black ramen, gyoza and takoyaki and everything was pretty awesome. The ramen flavor was strong but not overpowering or too salty. Appetizers were both really good too and not overly sweet with the sauce for the takoyaki. Definitely gonna be coming back again. read more

i love this place. i've been here twice during my dinner break from a long college class and ordered tonkotsu miso both times. their croquettes are also served fresh and really good, perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. i'm obsessed with the chashu from this place because they sear it with a torch right before serving, and the consistency of the quality and taste of the broth and noodles is always good. i always leave satisfied and full. i'm going to keep coming back while i still go to uni around here lol. also, the server is very nice and always thanks us before we leave. read more

There are socially distanced tables outside under tents and it has a very nice ambience during the night time. My favorite is the black ramen and the broth is so delicious! Another favorite is the cheese donkatsu. I also really enjoyed the dumplings and takoyaki and everything was fairly priced. I love it here and always recommend it to friends and family. read more

Also, the shaved cabbage salad is a great compliment to the meal. I'll be back with the family to check out the other offerings here. One downside, the space is tight, so strollers and wheelchairs won't be a comfy fit. However, there were littles here around 7 pm for dinner. All in all, is highly recommend Yoko Donkatsu.

I went to enjoy the England vs. Argentina game today, as I had with previous World Cup games, and something was very very wrong. Immediately at entering I was greeted by new aggressive security people (there were many) that told me "if you can't find a seat you will be kicked out". Very unusual as last two times I was there it was literally everyone standing up and cheering everywhere while buying drinks and ordering food; this time it was half empty and quiet, as if the mood was shut down. Some people standing in what I'll assume are "safe" area's, most sitting. The place is small so there's not a lot of seating, and there were no seats visibly available. I told security I was waiting for my wife to enter and wanted to order something and stood by the bar (near the door), they didn't say anything while I stood there so figured I was fine. Within 1 minute from that moment I was grabbed (GRABBED) by the arm and was told I had to leave and couldn't come back . I went to the back patio with my wife because she arrived the moment I got kicked out - same thing back there. There was a woman security person eyeing everyone and telling them to go to Roscoe's instead, I asked her why she was telling people that when the place wasn't even that busy (compared to last time) and she said oh this is a day job but I actually work for Roscoe's; This sudden presence of intense security was so confronting and obviously making patrons uncomfortable, the place was quiet and many people were leaving. Incredible job Ye old ship management, there's nothing like changing the atmosphere for the worst and pissing off your customers simultaneously. You're a British Pub for crying out loud! No idea how things are going now as I'm elsewhere (not Roscoe's). Avoid this place (at least today), chances are you won't be staying anyway. *Management, want me to change this review? I'd be happy to.. reach out to me - I'd love an apology for this nonsense today and to know that you're going to do better next time. **as a few people mentioned this sounds like fire code issues and they probably got in trouble.. understandable, I get it, but still not ok to treat customers poorly. If security is going to be that interactive with customers you need to hire individuals with better communications and people skills. ***photos added are from previous times attending (before security) and as mentioned, there was never any issues at the old ship before and the staff was always polite and friendly. Take this post for what it is, my observation and experience as a patron - don't be a wanker.

I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the strangest I've had. It tasted like the orange had been muddled into the drink, and the sugar was sitting undissolved at the bottom of the glass. For such a classic and simple cocktail, I expected it to be made much better. The calamari was just okay. Some pieces were soggy, as if they hadn't been cooked long enough, while others were a bit chewy. The pasta also didn't seem to be made in-house. At nearly $40 for an entrée, it felt overpriced, especially when there are several nearby restaurants that make their pasta from scratch for a similar or lower price. Our waitress did her best despite seeming overwhelmed and having some difficulty with the portable POS system. She remained polite and attentive, so I don't fault her for the experience. Overall, this wasn't the quality we remembered, and unfortunately, we won't be returning.

Easy to find location in the strip mall with tons of parking, Great spot to get your Ramen fix. J san miso flavor is great with all the options. Service is excellent here and your food comes out quickly. I usually add egg and extra noodles. The taste is fantastic altogether. Also ordered a side of Pot stickers, those came out hot and lightly crispy, just perfect for a nice full lunch meal. Opps, forgot to make a shout out to Pepsi also :) read more

This place was amazing. Tried it for the first time and I wasn't disappointed. Their ramen was very traditional and well made. You can tell they don't use cheap ingredients. I'm vegan so I went with the vegetable ramen and substituted the regular egg noodles for kale noodles. The kale noodles were amazing. This will be my new go to spot. read more
