What a disaster. I needed a new faucet for my sink. For $3000 you would think the job would be done correctly the first time. After a few days the faucet handles were loose and moving like they had not been screwed in. They had to come back 2 different times to try to stabilize them and their scheduling team is a nightmare. I've used this company at a multi unit property, and they offer hydro jetting so I gave them a call. We've had a kitchen line full of grease for awhile now and finally decided to clear it due to water not going down anymore, the day after turkey day(imagine the dishes). Called J sewer and they showed up a few hours later to hydrojet the pipe and clear it. Took about 1.5 hours. I am going to be honest, the price shouldve been about 200 bucks cheaper than it was, but no biggie. It wouldve cost nearly triple the amount had i replaced the pipe. For insight, i was told 975 to jet for 1.5 hours and 275 for each additional hour. Plumber showed up at 3:15pm and they were done before 4:45(packing up took about ten min). There are cameras on my entire property so I doublechecked the time and yeah it was def not 1.5 hours.. I was still charged an additional 200 dollars. Another thing I wouldve liked is if they doublechecked the pipes after with a camera, Ive had hydrojetting performed at another property before so the process this time was a little different.. All in all, they did do a good job and cleared the pipe. I am a little salty about the extra 200 but no big deal, which is why I gave 4 stars. Id say, use them for bigger jobs. Smaller jobs you may want to find an independent plumber as they have much less overhead. Just my two cents. read more

We had water running into our basement due to a burst pipe connected to our outdoor hose bibb, but the pipe and shut-off valve were covered up by drywall when the basement was finished. Diego found the burst pipe and shut-off valve quickly with a minimal cut and installed a new hose bibb, and cleaned everything up nicely in just a few hours. We hired J Sewer & Drain to install a new catch basin in September 2025 after the wall of our old one collapsed. The quoting process and installation initially went smoothly. A couple of weeks later, we noticed the soil around the catch basin beginning to sink. Over time, the settling worsened to the point where part of the catch basin wall and some of our foundation became visible, which was understandably concerning. Communication was slow at first, and it took some persistence to get follow-up. Eventually, J Sewer & Drain did come out to inspect the catch basin. After their evaluation, they indicated that the installation itself appears to be sound and that the settling is likely due to soil compaction issues rather than a structural problem with the basin. Since the inspection, things seem to be stable and okay. While the situation was stressful and the communication gap was frustrating, I do appreciate that they ultimately came out to assess the issue and explain their findings. Thank you! read more

I am incredibly disappointed with J Sewer. I initially reached out to them because they have great reviews, but my experience felt like a complete bait-and-switch scam. When I booked them, they promised me a free estimate in writing. Everything was locked in for the next morning. Then, the night before they were supposed to arrive, they suddenly told me it would actually cost $150 just to send someone out. Their exact excuse was that they "didn't realize this was a building over 9 units. Over 9 units building we have a dispatch fee of $150 just to come out. Otherwise it would have been a free estimate." Waiting until right before the appointment to spring a hidden fee on a customer feels incredibly predatory. It honestly felt like a tactic to make money off someone who might be desperate and out of time to find a backup plumber. If a company has a strict policy about building sizes, that needs to be asked and communicated before putting a free estimate in writing. It is an awful way to treat people and incredibly unprofessional. Be very careful booking with them, especially if you live in an apartment building, and don't trust their "free" estimates until the person is actually at your door. read more

I had a corroded p-trap that was leaking, wanted to get rid of my 20-year-old disposal, and replace my dying faucet. The quote was $575. From what I can tell, it went well and the work was appropriately done. While I realize you are paying for skill and experience, it still felt expensive for work that took under an hour. I thought these guys were good but turns out I was just a naive first time home owner...the service I am referring to in my first reviewing is rodding out a drain which I now do myself for most clogs. I was ignorant back then! I stopped using them after they charged me an exorbitant amount to install a shower head. Glad I did because I had another plumber come to deal with a clog I couldn't rod out myself and I was notified j sewer and drain installed the sink plumbing improperly in my bathroom. Apparently installing it correctly would have taken slightly more time and effort (not too much more) but these guys decided to get it done as quickly as possible while still charging me an arm and a leg. The way they installed it makes it much more prone to clogs. Maybe they were hoping I would keep calling them to rod it out. Look elsewhere for honest and quality work. read more

I thought my toilet was leaking from the base. The tech replaced the wax ring and all the internal parts and it turns out it was leaking from missing a gasket between tank and bowl which he could not unscrew but tightened. After he left the toilet overflowed from the top of the tank and out the handle which water flowed into the room below. After paying for the new parts and being left with a non-functioning toilet with the water turned off I'm now advised I need to buy a new toilet. This is being left in a worse condition than when I started, and with damage to the ceiling in the room below. I just paid $575 this by Zelle yesterday and feel, I am left starting all over. I have reached out to the company, her assistance in finding the right size toilet and I'm waiting to hear back. read more

I appreciate that they schedule appointments for a particular time as opposed to giving you a multi-hour arrival window, which many competitor companies do. They arrived within 15 minutes or so of both appointment times. For one of the projects, I heard a drip coming from an upstairs shower, although no water was present. Jonathan tested it and was able to diagnose the drip without opening up the downstairs ceiling. I appreciated that he provided a resolution that was scaled to the size of the issue, which saved money on the project. He also provided some recommendations on how to address the drip.
