Really great place to eat at. Went in with a party of 5 at 8 pm on Friday night and got right in. Drinks were good, special of the night was lamb meatloaf sliders and they where amazing. My wife got chicken fried chicken and home-made mashed potatoes. Food was amazing and for desert we had a blonde desert (I can't remember the exact name) it was awesome. If I could give it no stars, I would. Some of my friends and I met here for dinner and as soon as we sat down our waiter literally threw our coasters at us. From that point on, the wait staff was rude and repeatedly try to rush us out. One of my friends left her scarf at the table and when she went back in to get it, it was gone and they said they didn't know where it was. Just all around terrible experience. I have been to the Jack Allen's in South Austin, and their service is better. Don't waste your time going here though. There are better restaurant options in the area. read more

The best things are the drinks. Food is alright and kind of limited. It's all comfort food but nothing really that stands out. The typical customers here highly represent the local side of west lake if you catch my drift (rich white silver dudes that are just a tad snobby). Mints are good. read more

It is always a good experience at JAK from the sampler piminto cheese and chips, to the spinach ravioli starter, to the hickory bacon burger for me and the catfish starter for my wife. You will taste the fresh organicness immediately!! I am pretty picky with lots of allergies, and I can eat the food at Jack Allen's no problem because it is so fresh!!! The pimento cheese and crackers they bless you with is real true southern goodness. The burgers my friends had, which I can't have because of personal red meat ban made me weak!! I really wanted a bite of the burgers!! The bread the burgers are served on is made especially for Jack Allen's! It is clearly homemade and fresh baked - no preservatives. The sweet potato fries are yum! I had the crispy salmon which is crispy because they sear it ever so perfectly to give it this nice crunch that is not fried - and when you are health conscious like me - that crunch without the fried grease and flour is divine! Another friend had the stuffed redfish. Again - I had plate envy- the red fish looked the best of all of the orders. It was a special the night we visited, but if you get the chance - order it when it's available! I have not been, but I have heard their brunch is to die for!! I hope to get there soon. I met a couple of friends for lunch here on a Friday. It was busy and we didn't have reservations so I arrived 15 minutes early to get "in line". We were seating in about 20-25 minutes. We had a great waiter, and enjoyed the house made pimiento cheese. My friends loved it, but I found it "ok" - nothing wrong with it specifically, just not my fav. For lunch I ordered the fish tacos which were good, tho tney needed the jalapenos to zip em up! The corn tortillas were excellent, as were the sides. My coworkers had the 13 Spiced Chicken Pasta and Green Chile Pork Tacos and both were very happy. All in all, it was a good meal made better thanks to a great waiter and wonderful friends! Took my adult children and grand child who live in France. We all agreed it was the best brunch ever! And we are a bunch of foodies! Tomato basil pie, chicken fried pork tenderloin, green chili gravy on biscuits, migas, pimento cheese grits and don't miss the apple pecan Danish! Amazing! This is a small example of the many wonderful things on this very reasonably priced buffet. Also best mimosa! I had to buy the cookbook which includes many great recipes and top notch photography. Bomb orange juice, fresh squeezed deliciousness. Good sausage, biscuits, breads and muffins. Lots of unique items as well- aka pimento cheese grits. They have round rock donuts as well for the sweet toothed people. Service was terribly slow! We waited forever for someone to take our order and eventually had to ask someone. They're super busy only Sunday brunch from 10-2 so expect a crowd. The servers were nice just busy. Took about an hour from start to finish. Not a bad experience. Had a terrible experience with rude hostess Saturday evening. We were told that the wait for inside was 45 minutes or we could be seated immediately on the porch. It was too hot for some in our party so we chose to wait. When we were called in we were taken to the porch. I explained to the nice person ushering us that we had requested a seat inside. We walked back to the front where a female hostess said that we requested first available. After explaining what she had told us nearly an hour prior, her body language changed and she began to talk down to us. We asked for the manager after a few cross words and he accused us of calling the hostess a name I won't repeat, nor would we have ever said. He was equally inhospitable in his attempt to put the customer first so we left and will not return. read more

Brunch is great, however they are not quite as quick to replenish as they should. Excellent food! Service can be a bit rushed (at least for brunch service), seemed to be trying to quickly flip tables, despite being fairly quiet. I got the fish tacos and they were good. Not my absolute favorite, but good. But then the crown jewel blew me away. Their peach cobbler made with fresh peaches from Fredricksburg and delicious crunchy crumble topped with a locally made ice cream was maybe my favorite food I've eaten in Austin. Got the Saturday special and it was the worst chicken enchiladas I've ever eaten! Was suppose to be served with an sunny side up egg on top, but asked not to get the egg. The tortillas that were in mine were very dry and tasteless. While eating the enchiladas, found a piece of bone in it and also some hard pieces that I couldn't eat. Otherwise the filling tasted good. Never had enchiladas that were served flat like 2 pancakes with filling in the middle. Sauce was on top then the cheese. No rice or beans was served with this and overpriced for what you get. Jack Allen's @360 Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Austin, Texas. I'm a regular so I go into the restaurant about 3-4 times a week. The food is exceptional. Most importantly, the staff there is wonderful. I sit at the bar all the time and they pour fabulous drinks. I would recommend Jack Allen's @ 360 to anyone and everyone. This is my absolute favorite place to go in Austin! It's farm-to-table and 85% of their food is locally sourced. On Sundays, there is a brunch buffet. The offerings change a little bit each week, but they always have migas, fried chicken and pork, round rock donuts (yes really!!!), fresh fruits and salads, silver dollar pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. Don't plan on doing anything the rest of the day because all the food is so good that you will likely eat until you cannot move. Seriously. So good. And don't worry if it's not a Sunday during brunch time. You can't go wrong any day of the week when eating here. My favorites include the pumpkin seed pesto chicken breast, barbacoa stackers, and any of the tacos! Oh, and the black cherry mojitos! Believe all the hype! Jack Allen's is delicious! read more

We never got to eat at Jack Allen's Kitchen on Hwy 360 this past Tuesday. We arrived around 3:00 PM. It was not at all busy or crowded. But, some people rushed to get in front of us then dilly dallied at the podium until they got seated in a nicely lighted, pleasant room. We were dropped off at a booth and when we tried to sit in it, forget about it. We are advanced seniors and one of us is quite tall and the space in this booth was less than the cheap coach seats on some airlines. The hostess had seated someone else and was not available to ask if we could move to a better (for us) location. It did not take long to feel like second class customers so we left the menus, utensils and napkins on the booth table and were happy to get out the front door and go to a restaurant where our business is not taken for granted. We have friends who love Jack Allen's and rave about it. We did not have the experience that they enjoy. We spend a lot eating out and there are many, better restaurant choices as far as we are concerned. read more
