I came in here on Sunday Morning/Afternoon after walking my dogs to order some food and ask for a water. While I'm standing at the register and there are no customers, the employees are just hanging around, laughing, and speaking in Spanish. I asked to order numerous times, in which I was ignored. It doesn't take much to help a customer with their order. It is customer service. It smelled like barf inside which made me disgusted as if there's mildew in the restaurant itself. I would recommend, avoid coming to this Jack in the box location at all costs, if it smells like that in their establishment it is getting in your food as well. JACK IN THE BOX on Webster Street is conveniently located near other places where I frequently do business, and these include WALGREENS, FedEx Office Print & Ship Center, and Peet's Coffee. I have been a fan of fast-food hamburgers since I was a kid living in Seattle. At that time, which was not exactly recently, I enjoyed going to ZIP'S DRIVE-IN near Queen Anne Hill in Seattle where my family lived. When I order at JACK IN THE BOX, I almost always ask for a JUMBO JACK, and I always request one of their little boxes of HONEY MUSTARD. I like the honey mustard so much, that I sometimes ask for two boxes of it, and after finishing the JUMBO JACK (with honey mustard on it), I consume the second box of honey mustard for dessert. Yum-yum! OTHER TASTE TREATS. When I want to give myself an extra taste treat, in addition to the Jumbo Jack with honey mustard, I order one of these three things: (1) Jalapeno peppers filled with cheese; (2) Curly fries; and (3) Onion rings. The jalapeno, curly fries, and onion ring side-orders are each abundantly flavorful. THE SERVERS. The servers are always attentive, and they are prompt in coming to the counter to ask for my order, even though they are typically very busy serving drive-through customers at the drive-up window. The servers always give me the exact change, though sometimes I bring exact change with me. On January 22, 2021, while waiting for my order, I noticed that the sound system in the Webster Street Jack in the Box was playing salsa music. It was not exactly salsa music, but it was a disco-version of salsa, where the beat was established by electronic "POW . . . POW . . . POW" sounds. I used this as an opportunity to practice my side-to-side salsa steps and forward-backward-forward salsa steps. OTHER JACK IN THE BOX LOCATIONS. The locations where I most frequently stop are on High Street in Alameda and on Webster Street in Alameda. Sometimes I stop at the location on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, or at one of the two locations near Mission Boulevard in Hayward, or at the location on 2nd Street in San Rafael. Why these locations? Because these locations are near places where I do my weekly ten-mile hike in a mountain forest. It is a proven fact that the greatest increase in muscle mass, when induced by exercise, is when you consume protein either during or shortly after the exercise. This has been reported in many studies of whey (a milk protein) consumption and exercise. Second, the sourdough bread was super cold like it's been sitting around for a few hours after being toasted already. The cheese was cold and not melted. The Bacon Tasted old and was cold as well. The woman at the window rushed us to order, ended the order and gave me the total in the middle of the order so she proceeded to make it two separate orders. The service I've experienced here has been nothing short of SUPER. Super friendly, super efficient.... I have this oddball burger I have made for me.... - Basically it's a Jumbo Jack but rather than meat it has 2 or 3 hashbrown patties. Don't know who lit the bonfire under the J.I.B. staff's butts but the drive-thru is super fast now. Every now and then they run out of certain supplies, like last week they ran out of meat. Messing with them helps alleviate the frustration, this is pretty much word for word what happened via intercom at 3AM: "I want an ultimate cheeseburger meal please! With a coke and curly fries and no onions and-" "Ma'am I am so sorry, we have no meat." "Are you kidding me?" "No ma'am." "Really?" "Really ma'am." "Geez. Then could I haaaaaaaaveeee....the big cheeseburger meal?" "Ma'am we have no meat." "Oh okay....then could I have the little cheeseburger?" "Meat is in that too ma'am." "Sorry! Can I have a kids meal burger?" "Yes, you can, please drive forward." Then you get two lil hamburger buns with shredded beef in it that they normally use in the monster tacos. Jack tacos used to be my go to junk food. Ever since I was in my 20's I have loved them. Don't know why, it just was the place to get tacos at 2 am that helped me from getting a hangover. I just ordered some after a long while. They were awful. Just awful. The tortilla was hard and old tasting. Way too much lettuce and the cheese wouldn't melt. Too little filling (meat). This place used to be my favorite late night spot, guilty pleasure that it was. Lately though, they're not open a few of the times I went (Although 24 hours), and tonight some dude named Mario kept giving me dirty looks and replying with a very gruff "Nahh." to many of my questions. I'm not hyper sensitive or easily offended either. I get it, not too many people want to spend their nights taking orders from, and serving a bunch of drunks. (I was not, as I was the designated driver.) But "nahh" is pretty hard to consider polite especially when coupled with exhausted and angry looks. And what about the frequent closing for stretches during the after bar rush, when the graveyard shift can potentially make the most money? Seems more like an employee idea rather than one from the corporate office. I'll give it a few more chances, but after that I'm heading over to the Park Street store for some deep fried tacos from then on. I generally like their food, but I was really disappointed when the Alameda Jack in the Boxes raised the price of their regular tacos from $0.99 to $1.29, while all the other Jacks still sold them for $0.99...It's supposed to be one of the value meal items...WTF. I don't know if they raised prices on other items or not, but the regular tacos for $0.99 is a classic and shouldn't be changed. This Jack in the Box sits on a very wee lot and is situated on the corner which makes it very tight to get your car out of the drive-thru lane and on to Webster. They should build a new one on the corner of Atlantic across from Walgreen's. I love the Sourdough Breakfast Sandwhich, it used to be made on this tiny weenie itsy bitsy bread but now it's made on this larger sourdough bread that is grilled to perfection! Ordered from this location through door dash and received the most cold and STALE chicken sandwich that I've ever had from any fast food chain. I understand food can get warm or cold during delivery but STALE is not okay. The bread was super hard. He's a little curt and rude and was trying to rush through my order. Ironically, he ended up accidentally knocking my food out the window, causing a longer delay with the cars behind me. Fortunately nothing got in my car. He did apologize and make another one, which is good, however had he not been rushing in the first place, that wouldn't have happened.
