Came here for lunch base off the good experience I had at their other location. It was pretty crowded for dine in around 12:30pm, although we did have to wait but it wasn't for long. (Less than 10 mins) I ordered the KC combo 3 meats, bone in dark meat chicken, lamb ribs and beef burnt ends with cheese potatoes. I felt the meat could've been seasoned better, the cheese melt potatoes were excellent! I'll definitely be ordering those again as well as the KC combo exactly how I had it. This place came recommended to me by some KC football fans that I met while in town for the AFC Championship game. When they told me that I had to get some KC BBQ while in town, and I told them that I didn't eat beef or pork, we had some laughs, but they were so helpful in making recommendations for places with other options, and this place was fantastic! I walked in, decked out in my Bengals gear, the day after Cincy beat KC in the AFC Championship game. I came by for dinner on the last day of a long work trip to pickup dinner. It was only a half hour from close, and chose to order in the restaurant due to having trouble deciding on what I wanted. I was helped by Stacy at the carry out counter and was absolutely blown away by the level of service I received. She took time while answering my extensive questions, provided insightful recommendations, and even gave me some samples to be sure I enjoyed my meal. I enjoyed the sauce samples enough I picked up two bottles to bring home! Food was great, space is very nice, but the staff will have me coming back if I'm ever back in the area. I have eaten at dozens of barbecue restaurants in Kansas City and jack stack is definitely toward the top of the list but not number one so keep reading. When you enter Jack Stack the smoky aroma hits your face as you walk in the door in a very good way. This is undeniably woodsmoked barbeque. When you sit down you should definitely order the onion rings starter for the table. These perfectly fried and wide onion rings are amazing. Getting right down to it you come here for the meat and while Kansas City doesn't have a lot of beef ribs on the menu at various locations it is on the menu at Jack Stack. A recent Texas BBQ article said that Kansas City is due for a beef renaissance. I agree! Come here and you'll get your fill of beef with the incredible tender moist and smokey burnt ends along with the incredible crown beef rib which was massive and cooked to perfection. The beef rib is tender, no fat, and pulled off the bone extremely easily but maintained it's form and did't fall off the bone which is a good thing! I was a little disappointed at the brisket here. It wasn't as moist as it could've been and definitely was cut way too thin as slices should be about a pencil width thick. Mine was cut 1/2 that thickness. I was in the Kansas City area and decided to check for a nearby BBQ. Noted high number of reviews and good rating for Jack Stack so decided to give it a try. I got there at around 5:30pm on Saturday and the parking lot was packed; good sign, but 1.5 hour wait for a table inside. I got the last table outside and was seated right away. Very nice patio. I ordered the 2 meat combo with brisket and ribs with a side of cheesy potatoes. Had to get the jalapeño corn bread also, as it sounded great. I was completely satisfied. Went here yesterday for dinner. Originally was going to give this restaurant 3 stars. Waited forever for our food and then when food arrived, mine was cold but wife's food was warm. They remade my food and it was nice and hot. The food was excellent. Our server was great, do not remember her name....when she found out our food was cold she brought the manager over who had kitchen remake my food and profusely apologized. However, when we got the bill, a nice surprise, the comped ALL our food and we were only charged for a drink. We did not ask for it to be comped, but very nice that they did. I have probably eaten inside only one time in my life, but I am a HUGE fan of their carryout system. - They have a super easy online ordering - When you pull up there is always workers outside ready to give your order to you promptly - I have never had a issue with my order not being ready at the time on my receipt Now, their actual food items are pretty good. I just prefer less "boujee" bbq .. if you know what I mean(KC people understand). My go to here is the burnt ends or wings! I finally had the pleasure of tasting real Kansas City BBQ and I could not have been more happier it ended up at Jack Stack Barbecue of all the choices out there. Locals consider this one of the best BBQ in Missouri and after eating here I could not agree more. For starters we picked the Onion rings which were lightly battered with Italian breading and came with spicy horseradish dipping and the regular house BBQ sauce. Those Onion rings undoubtedly perhaps were the best I ever tasted, and it didn't take long before they were consumed. For my lunch I choose the Baby Back Ribs and the Pork Burnt Ends with Hickory Pit Beans and Cheesy Corn as my side. The beans were so delicious with a touch of sweet BBQ sauce and pieces of pulled pork and a hint of whiskey to perfect the taste. The Cheesy Corn didn't disappoint either, but I wish I would've chosen something else. The Pork Burnt ends on the other hand were so tender that they would melt in your mouth with this incredible BBQ flavor. The Baby back ribs had a little bit more of a bite to them, but they would fall off the bone with very little effort. The side spicy pickles and pickled onions were also very enjoyable and paired perfectly with the dish. My friend's beef burnt ends were fattier imho but it made them so much more flavorful and tasty. I surprisingly preferred the sweet BBQ sauce over the spicy one. For dessert we picked Mom's carrot cake and OMG this was the best carrot cake ever! The cream cheese frosting was out of this world. The frosting was not too sweet and was just perfectly balanced!! Verdict: 5 Stars for great atmosphere, amazing food and friendly service. Overall though I had a great time, we had the most amazing server I've probably ever had, she was so wonderful and i wish I remembered her name to give her more props. Best Beef Burnt Ends in Kansas City IMO. I been to Jack Stack and have ordered this the past 50+ visits... in fact I cant recall even having anything else. Perhaps someday I will get burned out on Burnt Ends and try something else. The beans are excellent also and the fries are just average but consistently served hot which makes them worth getting. Excellent service in 3 visits here this week. Now I'm back to Arizona which is a BBQ desert as well as a real desert (ha ha ha). We were in KC for the weekend and had been told by several people to try this place out. I had high hopes walking in, and holy cow it did not disappoint. If I had more money I would have tipped our waiter Ben $250 because that's how great he made the experience and worked! The food was the best bbq I've ever had by far. It's full and I mean full of pulled pork. We split it. We had baked beans as a side. Jack Stacks baked beans never fails. I also ordered jalapeño cornbread which is a requirement. I managed a picture. Lol It was nicely packed in a to go plastic container with the baked beans in their own plastic bowl. There were more than enough for both of us. It was fresh and warm. Doordash was fantastic. I'm a fan and have Dash Pass. My Doordash driver arrived within a half an hour. She social distances herself and was courteous.
