I came here on a hot day to get a smoothie to fill me up. They have a lot of great choices for smoothie combos as well as juices. I went with the kale, pineapple one and it was great. Not too sweet but sweet enough. I've also come here for lunch before and enjoyed the sandwiches. They have a lot of choices from deli meats to Greek options and wraps. The portion size is quite big and the presentation is very nice as well. Overall this is a great place to come for a bite to eat or coffee to go. They have a bunch of tables inside but it can get crowded fast. read more

First time here and I know I will be back soon! The food is fresh, portions are generous and the flavor is unlike any other place I have tried locally. I am a huge fan of Mediterranean style food and my Husband makes fun of me when he asks what I want to eat... it's always Mediterranean. I've been coming to Jackie's for close to a decade now that it has become a local lunchtime staple for me. My favorites are the Greek wrap, veggie pita, and the BBQ chicken sandwich. And I always add fries! When I have family in the area they always ask to pick up from Jackie's. I just wish they had more seating, especially outdoor because having lunch outside in upper Montclair is such a vibe. read more

My friends love this place, so I decided to finally go here. I was not disappointed it is so good. They have a lot of options and I doubt anyone wouldn't be able to find something they like here. This time my friend and I got Strawberry Sunrise smoothies. My other friend got a lentil and rice dish, which I can't remember the name of, that she raves about and a smoothie--I believe it was either the Tropical Kale or the Avocado Cool smoothie. Also, their chicken tenders and fries are to die for! They have outdoor seating, which I love, and they usually have indoor as well, but that was temporarily changed due to the pandemic. Stopped here for a quick lunch and decided to get the Big Bang - BBQ chicken, bacon, melted mozzarella on an Italian roll. Right up my alley but at a premium price. It was pretty good but not sure it's worth almost $10, however it was certainly better than trying to replicate the same thing at say Subway. My friend got a Turkey club and we got some drinks but it all somehow came to just under $30 bucks. Food was good service was good, but whoa. It seems being up this way draws high asking prices. Or could be this area isn't in as much competition as far as food as say lower montclair. I'm an indecisive eater but from time to time I love having lots of options thrown at me. And that's why I love Jackie's. It's like part deli, part cafe with minimal waitress service. I dig it. A bit on the small side so seating can fill up quick. But the food selection rocks. And it's all super fresh and tasty. You can select from breakfast, your basic deli offerings, to all of your favorite Middle Eastern/Mediterranean dips, pitas, and kabobs (which is my favorite, duh). They got the whole nine yards and then some. Even your trendy fruit and veggie juices/smoothies. I visited with some of my vegetarian family members so we started with the eggplant salad to share. Simple but delicious. The grilled vegetable sub's balsamic-glazed zucchini and eggplant was perfectly paired with the fresh mutz, roasted pep, and pesto on a multigrain roll (bonus points for multigrain). A classic combo but definitely done right. I was hesitant to succumb to the juice craze, but we gave it a try and ordered a Power Twist. A blend of carrot, apple, lemon, orange and ginger. Zingy and sorta refreshing, but not my thing to be honest. Montclair street parking can be a B but if you're stopping in for brunch or lunch, which I recommend, you'll be alright. I've gone here since Jackie's first opened and it has remained consistently excellent all these years. Great sandwiches, wraps, salads. There's somewhat of a Greek bias here, with gyros, shawarma, metzes, grape leaves, etc., but so much more: Italian subs, various chicken wraps and so on. You cannot go wrong -- it's my go to eatery in Upper Montclair. Sit at an outside table if weather permits. read more

The roast beef with gravy sub is my favorite along with the cherry cheese danish (which runs out by midday). I have been to Jackies on several occasions! Mainly when I want to order take out but want to also be healthy, Jackies is a solid move for this. I stopped in around lunch time in the late afternoon and it was definitely pretty busy. I ordered the chicken platter with a side of falafel. My order seemed to have been forgotten about so it took forty minutes for me to get my order (it wasn't THAT busy for it to take that long!) especially when people that walked in after me got their orders first! This was so frustrating because I was starving at this point. I took my order back home when I finally got it, and the deliciousness inside totally made up for how annoyed I was. Everything about the platter was so good, tasted fresh and home made. The falafel seemed to be overcooked which made it super dry but I still ate it. Overall minus the lack of organization with taking orders, I would definitely come back just based on how good their food is! read more

We were a bit underwhelmed with the omelette but appreciate that they were accommodating to serve us just potatoes as a Side and remove the bread. I'm gluten free and garlic free. I went there today and asked what was garlic fruit and also gluten-free. Apparently they did not hear me and I just ate weed for the first time in three years. Now I'm going to be sick. I think the staff is very irresponsible. Does it matter how busy the places they need to take the time to hear the customers needs. I will never come back to this placeNor why ever recommend anyone in my circle to come here Like to update to the managers reply..... I was sick for 9 hours in bed after I had wheat. Secondly, why bother making something over for someone if some already was going to get sick for your food I didn't slam the plate it was already taken away after I told them I was gluten free. And you were behind the corner so how would you have known? Third, I knew I was going to get sick because of the non responsible staff you have along with the unprofessional business. Along with the FDA it is your responsibility for your restaurant to be on your game. People who live with food allergies shouldn't have to be afraid when they go out to eat. Absolutely delicious!!! They really do a fantastic job with the food here. Everything is really well made and seasoned, is presented beautifully, and comes in very big portions. Amazing sandwiches and wraps and the salads look like colorful works of art! The baba ganoush was so good and the marinated eggplant salad is some of the best eggplant I've ever had! So unique and delicious. I love walking in and seeing all the freshly made spreads and salads in their case too and getting things by the pound to go. Amazing food. Reminds me of my mothers cooking (Egyptian background). I highly recommend one of their skewer platters or my personal favorite the Mediterranean Wrap, it is absolutely amazing. Also a great place to sit down have coffee (free refills) and just read a book. read more
