Went to Jackie's Too last night and had the worst restaurant experience ever. We were seated promptly but everything after that was downhill. After about 13 min. I had to flag down the manager as no one had acknowledged we were even there. The manager was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. I get that it is a casual place but the servers dress in black and the interior of the restaurant is borderline upscale. The manager was running around yelling at the wait staff, hostess and bus person...in the middle of the dining room. He had the busboy so on edge that the poor kid was running through the dining room. There was also a server standing at the service bar yelling at the manager that he wasn't going to wait on someone. Another server came over and apologized for the chaotic scene and said that it was going to be her last night as she couldn't take it anymore (not sure if that happened). It took about a half hour for the food to arrive. I got the salmon topped with tomato and feta cheese with a side of rice. It was the most boring tasteless meal I've ever eaten. I would have preferred to have Near East rice pilaf as a side, it has more taste! My wife got the lobster fettuccini and she that was just meh. While we were there, three other disgruntled patrons had to beckon the manager to express their complaints. All in all, it's sad, as the location is great but I guess they figure they don't have to take care of the patrons and serve tasty food as they have you in the door already. I'm sure they don't expect to see most of the diners again anyway. P.S. No free refills on sodas either. read more

million dollar views ten cent food and management rude waitress who when we informed her of my wifes allergy to gluten and dairy she responded with the chef won't change any thing and that is that the food wasn't that bad but its hard to screw up burgers and fries to bad but the people in back of us were served fish so bad that we could smell it the waitress kept repeating " well we never have any problem with that dish" about 30 times I am glad the guy stuck to his guns they finally brought him something different now to the worst thing the floor in the the glass room past the bar is so weak that every step by customer or staff causes it to bounce up and down so much that we got quesy while in there I wis I had read some of the other reviews before we went in . Never again there are so many great restaurants in the area don't spend your money on this shit house !!!! read more

Had the scallops, kind of tasteless even with the bacon and blue cheese. Wife liked the lobster. Kids had the pasta, equally unmemorable. One star for the food (not great), one star for the view (really great). On the plus side, they make a decent Martini. read more

Me and my girlfriend are from New York and we're up in maine for a little ocean side retreat. It was 6/18/15 around 830 and we had been looking around the area for a place to get a good lobster meal as my gf had never had a real maine lobster dinner. We both ordered soups with her getting the clam chowder and me the lobster bisque. They were both very good and very hot. I was not happy though with my entree specifically. I got the broiled sirloin and it was not cooked to my desired color and it was mostly fat, and for what I payed I would have wanted a better cut of meat. My gf loved her lobster and it was very well done. So it wasn't all bad. The wait staff was a little pushy and a little awkward in how they talked to us as guests of their restaurant. Overall it was a nice place with a great ocean side view, just need a little more work on the food side of the restaurant and a little more patience from the waitstaff. read more

The view from the restaurant is amazing. The fried clam appetizer scrumptious, steamers were quite good as well. However the staff that we encountered were horrific. We sat at the bar to have a drink or two with some small bites. The bartender on this particular Friday afternoon (10/7) and a waitress acted as if we were invisible while they proceeded to use foul and vulgar language against the mgmt. When we ordered food they argued about who would bring the order to the kitchen and actually threw the order slip back and forth at each other. Finally another bartender came on and the afternoon was salvaged. But honestly I never want to see anyone lose their job but these two should quit if they hate the mgmt and the customers as they evidently do. Jackie I hope you are listening. These two will lose customers for you. Bartender had white hair and glasses - waitress about 28 with heavy black eyeliner on upper lid. Not bad. The location is pristine. The in-laws raved about the lobster bisque soup, which they said was the best they ever had. They did say that the soup was very filling. They each got a salad which was HUGE, so they said that they should have split the salad. I went with the 1/2lb lobster roll. I'm going to say it was the best lobster roll I have had just because for the first time I actually tasted the lobster. read more

My family of six decided to have lunch here because of the amazing view. The outside deck and view of the ocean is beautiful. Unfortunately the service was horrible! I asked my server if they could make the mussels appetizer over pasta and he said no. It seemed strange to me since they had pasta dishes on the menu so I asked him to check with the chef. He left for a few seconds (definitely not long enough to make it to the kitchen and back) and again said it was not something they could do. Annoyed I ordered a salad instead. When our meals came out both my husband and I had salads that came with no dressing. We asked what type of dressing they had and when I asked for a lemon vinaigrette dressing I saw on the menu the waiter said they did have anything like that. I was so disappointed that a restaurant with such a nice atmosphere and good food can hire such unaccommodating wait staff that do not care about their customers. read more

After walking along the Marginal Way we stopped here for lunch. The service was great and the view from the open air porch can't be beat. The Cobb salad I have was very good and the portion was large. My friends enjoyed the mussels and steamers which were serve in heaping bowls. If you don't want sticker shock on the seafood that is listed "Market Price" be sure to ask the server before ordering. I had the best Mojito here. read more

My wife and I drove up the coast and were searching for a restaurant to relax and unwind. We chose Jackie's Too as we were familar and honestly, it's late March saturday afternoon so there really isn't many other options at this point. Well we arrived at 3:30 and a sign on the door clearly stated they were open until 4pm. so we went in and we were quickly "greeted" by a server (?) who told us they were closed, I tried to ask her if we could go to the bar but she was gone and no one came to the door. The restaurant was more than half full at this time. I find it shocking and unprofessional that during a slow period a restaurant personnel would act this way. I have been here before and the service was average (exception: the bartenders) but we go for the water views and the drinks. I found the women's discourteous behavior to be an indicator of how this restaurant will treat its guests and during peak time, I would not want to be here! read more

We stayed in Perkins Cove for Mother's Day - so early in the season. We stumbled in to Jackie's when we arrived Friday and found what you may expect on the menu for a tourist thick seaside place. Unfortunately the food was terribly overdone. My wife had shrimp scampi, and the shrimp was a struggle. Even my lobster seemed to have been steamed twice as long as necessary. We thought the wait staff was also underwheliming. Through the weekend,we also tried Oarweed across the way - similar menu, but twice as good. read more

Skip this one. There are a lot of other restaurants in Perkins Cove and Ogunquit that are far superior to this one. The hostess quickly seated us for dinner on the patio. Great view of the water and marginal way. Once seated, we were asked to move to another table so they could accommodate a larger party. Not a problem but then we had to wait 15 min before anyone acknowledged us. After that, it took 10 min to get our drinks. Ice tea had lemon seeds in it. Margarita was very watered down, only half full, and served in a soda cup. Waited another 25 minutes for dinner. Both of us ordered the special - grilled swordfish, only to find out that it was frozen swordfish covered with a bitter chutney. Shouldn't have to pay $25 for a frozen swordfish patty when the ocean and fish markets are so readily available. read more

Good food. Atmosphere is totally forgettable, so only eat here if you can sit near the sea; amazing view. Chowder and bisque were very good. If I could give this place zero stars, i would. Simply put, the food was terrible. One of the people in my party ordered the chicken francaise and received some type of mystery meat that was meant to resemble chicken. I had the linguini with clams and the clams were swimming in oil and tough as nails. The bill for 4 was well over $100 for food worse than a fast food joint. Heed this warning and stay away. We each ordered a burger and fries, at which point the waitress should have told us that fries were not included and would be an additional charge. I have been to Jackie's Too several times. First, a great view and the service was quick and personable. I had the haddock fish and chips and my wife had the crab salad sandwich. Both ended up being sub par for the region and way below their previous quality. The haddock seemed to be be machine cut, frozen and battered. The fries were certainly frozen and had no salt. Compared to other restaurants in the area, it was overpriced and underwhelming. I will not be returning. read more

I have been to Jackie's too on multiple occasions and felt it was time to write a review. Each time I go, the food is mediocre. My family loves the view from this place but every time I go I leave there wondering why we just spent so much money on a "view." I went this past Friday, on July 5th, a very popular weekend to be out in Perkins Cove. It was 90 degrees outside and they only had fans on the outside deck. It was so hot inside the restaurant they weren't even seating people inside. The salads they brought us looked like something you get out of a bag at the supermarket. I ordered the $16 lobster roll and they gave me the tiniest portion of lobster in a hot dog bun with a tiny bag of Cape Cod chips as a "side." Typically, when you pay $16 for a lobster roll you at least get some fries with it! I went to use the bathroom and the toilet paper was sitting on the sink. It was soggy! This place was a disaster on one of the busiest weekends of the year. The one star I am awarding them goes to our server. She was very attentive and pleasant. Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

It is too bad that such a beautiful spot in Ogunquit has such a disaster for seaside dining. The place needs a facelift and a new chef for starters. It is run down and the menu is nothing to brag about. We ordered salads which were large but relatively bland and less than fresh. The wait staff would do well at a local truck stop. Our family of four enjoyed our dinner here tremendously. First of all, our waitress was outstanding. She was kind, efficient, knowledgable about the menu, and could anticipate our every need. Secondly, the food was absolutely delicious (steak tips, clam chowder, baked stuffed haddock with lobster and shrimp stuffing, maple glazed sweet potatoes, salads and fresh bread). We were in heaven! I don't normally write reviews but I feel the need to warn patrons not to visit this establishment. After being told we would be seated within 30 minutes we waited over an hour to finally sit down. As the waiter served us our beer and wine, he dropped an entire glass of wine on my head and mumbled an apology. The night ended after eating mediocre food with the waiter telling us we would have to wait some more because the credit card was taking too long to process. Such a disappointment. We went on a cocktail cruise across the street and then went there. We had to wait 20 minutes, but it was worth it. We sat outside with ocean views. The wait staff were fantastic. We both had fettucine with seafood in different sauces and we loved both of them. read more

I own two restaurants myself and been in the foodservice business for over 25 years. She was the worst thing my wife and I have ever seen. We walked out. I have gone to Jackies too for over 20 years & a few times a summer. I went twice this summer and it was. 2 too many times. The restaurant is filthy. The bathrooms are nasty! The food was cold, they didn't send the meals out at same time and they brought appetizer after the meal. The entire staff was rude and nasty! When I asked who was the manager to the host they snapped at me and said manager too busy to speak. I have never met such a rude staff! read more

We had the most amazing dinner there! We have company visiting from Wisconsin and we luckily found Jackie's Too for dinner. The lobsters were fabulous! The view was to die for.. we sat on the patio right by the ocean. Our server, Anne, was fun, pleasant and very professional. The service was great. You're paying for the view and that's about it. For several years, my wife, mother-in-law and I have been eating at Jackie's Too. Up until now, we were always satisfied enough to keep returning, since - assuming you're able to get a table outside - the view is unbeatable. This year, we had an experience that really caused us to re-consider whether or not this is a place we want to keep giving our business to. 1) The night started with a 30 minute wait outside, during which time, they usually let you in to grab a drink from the bar. When I tried to get one they said they were not allowing this to happen, since the bartenders were so busy, there was a back-log of drink orders preventing servers from being able to get their patrons' drinks in a timely manner. 2) When our names finally got called, we were asked to leave our baby's stroller outside by the bus boys' booth. This is not uncommon and I never have a problem leaving the stroller in a place that is staffed... but by the end of the night, they had closed up the booth and left the stroller (which costs over $500) outside unsupervised, when there was plenty of room now available indoors. 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY, we ordered a rather large meal and a few drinks. While clearing some appetizer dishes from the table, our server knocked over my glass of red wine, which spilled all over my cargo shorts and shattered next to me. He apologized and cleaned up the broken glass, but I needed to ask him for club soda and a cloth to try and soak up the wine from my shorts (which were clearly ruined). It is not in my nature to rip into, or shame a server for making an honest mistake, so I did not kick up a stink. However, in my experience, any restaurant/waiter that is serious about keeping their customers happy is quick to compensate when they mess up (the Kelsey's in Thunder Bay, Ontario once compensated my wife and I BOTH of our meals when she found a single hair in her pasta). Lo and behold, after sitting in soaking wet shorts for the entire night, the bill comes without a single item comped! They could have at least waived the glass of wine that landed up all over me! 4) While driving back to our hotel, we all realized that none of us were particularly impressed with our meals. The steamed clam appetizer was of an OK quantity. My wife's lobster was decent, but came with a very bland rice pilaf. My baked stuffed haddock was a 4/5, but came with very ordinary green beans and mashed potatoes (that you don't even have the option of dressing up with gravy). My mother-in-law's shrimp scampi was also bland and nothing special. We all agreed that the complimentary bread you get at the beginning (which does taste good) was the only culinary step they take to go the extra mile. It took this really bad experience for us to finally realize that place relies entirely on its location to justify its prices, and does not at all feel the need to ensure good customer service or even food. Next time, we will be trying Oarweed's Barnacle Billy's or the Lobster Shack. read more

Hello...my husband & I were here on July 6. We arrived just before 4pm. We decided on the Lobster Rolls since we have ALWAYS enjoyed them in Maine. Our Lobster Rolls were NOT like anywhere we had ever had in Maine. They were tasteless & filled with lettuce to make them appear to be full. When we were ready to leave we had to wait to get out waiters attention for our check. After waiting a few minutes and being unsuccessful I went to the bar to break a $10 bill. The bartender was making a MOJITO. The bar was empty. I asked if I could please have change for my $10 and he said "No...Can Not Do" and he walked away. I said you can not break this for a five and five ones and he said NO. I felt that if it had been a tip for the bartender he would have broke it. After his rudeness and the tasteless lobster roll we will NEVER go back. If that is how they treat customers who spend $90 they do not deserve the business!!! We had lunch at Jackie's Too yesterday; 5 people, and we spent quite a bit. The food was okay, just okay, except for one notably horrible dish. And the waitress SEEMED okay at first, though inattentive (we asked for water, and she had to be reminded to bring it). One of us ordered the crabmeat melt sandwich, and ate about a third of it, uncomplainingly. After everyone was pretty much done eating, he mentioned to the rest of us that the sandwich wasn't very good. I took a bite, and was almost sick -- it was REALLY, REALLY bad. Not the kind of bad where the food has gone over, or gotten moldy; just a horrible taste and texture. When the waitress came with the check, I (the person paying) said to her, "I'm not saying this to try to get out of paying for the crabmeat sandwich, but I think the restaurant ought to know that this sandwich was really horrible." Her response? No apology, but (perhaps feigned) surprise, "Well, that's a very popular dish. A lot of people order that, and no one has ever said anything bad about it." We've been going to this restaurant for about 30 years, several times a year, but after that dish and the poor response, I don't think we'll ever go back again. read more

We had decided to go to Jackie's Too on the last day of our vacation on August 8th. We put our name in and told it would be a 40min wait, which was fine. We were told that we had to wait there and we couldn't walk the shops at all so we decided that we would go into the bar and have a drink while we waited. She the told us we couldn't because there was only one bartender and he couldn't handle the extra people.... and it was raining out! So we had to wait in the rain!!!!! To make matters worse when we did get seated, the first two entrees we tried ordering they were out of. We ordered drinks and my daughter ordered a beer on draft. When she was almost done she noticed something in the bottom of her glass and discovered that it was a rather large shard of glass! When we brought it to the waitresses attention she said to hold on and when she came back she told us not to worry that the beer would be taken off of our bill! My stomach turned just thinking what could of happened and how they brushed it off like it was nothing. There are far too many excellent restaurants in Ogunquit to eat at and enjoy the hospitality. The only nice thing about this Jackie's Too is the location - right on the water with an amazing view. However the food and service was lack luster. We really wanted a lobster roll so when we saw it on the menu listed as their specialty (at $16 a roll) we figured it had to be good. Well.. sometimes you pay for the view and not the food as this was definitely the case. Our waitress mentioned that the lobster roll came with chips, so we asked if we could switch out the chips with fries instead. She said there was an extra charge to do that. We said no problem, but when she came with our lobster rolls we each got a little bag of chips. Asked where our fries were she obviously forgot and returned 5 minutes later with them, which were raw on the inside. The extra charge for the fries was actually a full charge of $6 each. So our lobster roll with fries came to $22! And I'll say that there was not that much lobster either - I would have been better off buying the whole lobster and picked out the meat myself. With only a few choices at the end of the Marginal Way, I would think twice about eating here - or at least don't spend the fortune on a lobster roll with fries. read more

do not eat here! my wife got a mouthful of sand from her lobster? the own arrogantly refused to come to our table and resolve the issue. the waitress said the police would be called if we did not pay for the one meal. if you choose to eat here be sure to check the floor for bugs or bring bug spray. do not order the swordfish kabob. the vegies were under cooked and the side of red potatoes had a bug. we ordered a coors light and got a corona light. read more

My wife and 2 family members were in Ogunquit at the end of January and of course most restaurants were closed. Jackie's Too was the only restaurant open in Perkins Cove, so we decided to give it a try - what a mistake! We had to wait almost 5 minutes before anyone came to seat us, even though the place was less than half full. When waitress (Leana?) bothered to ask us what we wanted to order, we had to ask her what the specials were. I knew we were in trouble when the condiments arrived - the waitress banged down ketchup and tartar sauce in plastic squeeze bottles. The food when it came can only be described as bland - 2 of us had crabmeat and melted cheddar sandwiches (on regular white bread - what were they thinking?) and 2 of us had fish and chips (Jackie's managed to make even fried haddock tasteless, which is quite an achievement). The waitress was clearly of the fast-food service school, banging items down on the table in passing, either forgetting items or not hearing what was asked and paying almost no attention to her guests. I ordered a glass of wine for my wife and it was almost dropped on the table in passing, at my place setting, not my wife's. It was less than thrilling to watch the waitress and a colleague scoffing down their food in a small room off the dining area, right next to our table, but it was apparent they were enjoying their food more than we did. The owner was in the establishment while we were there but she didn't show any sign of being interested in what was going on around her. Yes the view is great but I'm surprised at the reviews that rave about this place. I've been going to Ogunquit for many years and have no hesitation in ranking this place as the bottom of all Perkins Cove restaurants. read more

We spent the day at beautiful Ogunquit and decided to end our day with dinner before heading back home. We had been to Jackie's Too for lunch maybe 2 years ago and we enjoyed it, especially the view. But I have to say, this was a pretty bad dinner we had. The food was blahh and the service was shocking. My husband asked the waitress if the fish in a specific dish was farmed or wild caught and she didn't even really know what we were talking about, she gave us a guessed answer. Also, I had thought my plate came with fries so I asked the waitress, as she put my plate down, and she responded saying "well theres plety of fries on the other plates"! Wow. The prices are not justified for the food OR the service Jakie's Too offers. They should really consider their ratings, especially since they have such a prime location. It's too bad that such a nice spot in Oqunquit is being occupied by such a bad restaurant! read more

CANNOT HANDLE FOOD ALLERGIES. Took my family of six for dinner here, three of whom have gluten allergies. Waitress had no idea what gluten was. We asked to speak to the chef or manager, and she rolled her eyes at us. We should have left then, but the manager was helpful - until he brought the waitress back and insisted that we give her our order. She ended up messing up three out of six of the orders, bringing a hamburger on a bun for one of the kids after we told her no bread, for example. In the more serious instance, though, we asked for baked potato instead of rice pilaf (which has wheat in it). She brought out the pilaf. We explained what the issue was and she brought out a new plate with the baked potato - but the swordfish that had been lying on the pilaf was still covered in pilaf. When we explained - AGAIN - that my sister is severely allergic to wheat, she said, "Whatever. I did my part." At that point, we asked to speak to the manager, who never showed up even though we waited and waited and waited. Unbelievable. Finally, on our way out, I went to find the manager and explained the situation, and only did he not apologize or offer to compensate for the meal at all, but he also insisted that the restaurant routinely handles allergies just fine - even though we had just proven that was clearly not the case. Meanwhile, just across the parking lot are two GREAT restaurants where every member of the kitchen and waitstaff routinely go out of their way to be helpful in addressing these complicated food allergy issues (Oarweed and Barnacle Billy's). Food allergies are not a fad; they are not a choice; they are not about diners being fussy. They're serious issues, and people who have them should to go to restaurants that take them seriously. Jackie's Too is clearly not one of those places. read more

My family and I go to Ogunquit every year and last year, we ate at Jackie Too's, The food was ok back then. This year, we decided to eat there again ... and honestly, never again. We were a big party, 12 people and the service was just unacceptable. Half the party;s meals came out cold (Jackie's favorite ... not such a favorite) and the Stuffed shrimp. Jackie's favorite dish lacked flavour and is definitely not worth the $21.95 (i believe). The stuffed shrimp also lacked flavor. At the end of the meal, our bill came and the waitress never separated it. We asked her (i believe our waitress was nancy) and she said she couldn't cplit the bill and that we had to ask for it at the beginning. I've never been to a restaurant where the customer had to ask for separate bills?! So we had to separate our own bill and on top of that, because we were a party of more than 6, ,we had to pay an 18% tip. What a waste of money. Some family members made a complaint to the hostess and she looked like she couldn;t give a f%$!. Restaurant has no class - unclean bathrooms and just pure lazy. The owner of Jackie Too's should really consider getting rid of the entire staff and place people who really want to work and would give excellent service and food. read more
