While the BLT on wheat with NOS Sauce was ridiculously good, the real highlight of my visit to the Sandwich Spot was Tim, the owner, and his genuine, exceptional customer service. We came in on a Saturday night with about 20 minutes until closing and were hoping to eat in the shop. Given the timing, I was fully prepared to be told that dining in wouldn't be possible or that the kitchen was closing early. Instead, Tim welcomed us in without hesitation. He enthusiastically shared his sandwich recommendations, let us sample the signature sauces, and explained where he sources his fresh ingredients and why that's important. During the meal, Tim treated us to extra chips, let us try their pasta salad authentically crafted by a 92-year-old Italian woman, and shared how he strives to make sandwiches with the same level of care his grandma showed when making them for Tim as a boy. I left the Sandwich Spot that night supercharge and thrilled knowing that there are still restaurants in my area operating the old-fashioned way. First time here on a lunch break. I had the #30 sandwich (warmed up) , very good. It had bacon, turkey, avocado, bomb sauce (swapped for secret sauce), mayo ,mustard and all the veggie toppings on Dutch crutch bread. I love the bread but most wouldn't because of how dense it can be and sometimes annoying to eat, not a bread you just wanna eat on for a quick bite as it takes a lot of chewing. Went in for the first time last Sunday for a quick bite. I don't typically leave reviews but was pretty impressed in the professionalism of the two girls working- pretty sure their names were Ava and Maddy. It's a rarity these days to get teens to engage in decent customer service at fast food establishments. I wasn't sure what to order and Ava made a fantastic recommendation for a chicken wrap. This place is a hidden gem. This is no ordinary Sandwich spot. We came in here randomly before going to the gym and it turns out that it's a privately owned sandwich spot and all of the meats they use are top quality and I got the prime rib French dip and it was amazing! The owner was telling us that he gets all his meats from Oakland and they artisan made. You can taste the quality. Hungry for pastrami. That's what I was thinking over what to have for lunch. Saw on Yelp that this was the closest to my house and decided on it even though it's a chain. The place is on a complex where we frequent. It's located on the corner of Sunset and West Oaks Blvd in Rocklin. Nobody was in the shop when I came in, so I breezed through ordering & paying and was out the door in less than 5 minutes. Not enough for photos, but I did get a nice tidbit of information that they will be offering Sactown 's own Gunther Ice Cream next week. I'm so excited about that, and I failed to take photos of the flavors they were going to serve. Upon reaching home, I took photos of the sandwich (camera eats first) and consumed half of it. The choice I got was the Touchdown (hot pastrami) in toasted Sourdough with all the veggies and Ghost Pepper cheese. That's right, ghost pepper cheese. Tim, his family, and the staff are amazing. Not only is the service great, but the sandwiches are amazingggg! AND they have Gunther's ice cream.... Winning combo. My favorite is the Bel Air sando, it's sooo good and thoughtfully put together. Tim's shop is about a 20 minute drive from me, but it's worth the drive every time. First time back here under their new ownership. We ordered the #6 and #36 - they were both fabulous! The bread (Dutch crunch), meat and produce were so fresh. I substituted the cream cheese for a habanero cheese that was just right amount of spicy to compliment the sandwich. The theming of the restaurant is clever (all car based). The wrap I had was extremely fresh! The owner at this location is wonderful! The worst location in the greater Sacramento region. I've ordered well over 100 sandwiches from various locations, in the last ten years. Assuming the service provides the correct ingredients, the biggest take away is how stale the bread tastes. The long standing staple to Sandwich Spot's success has always been the fresh, homemade taste that comes with each sandwich. The trademark typically involves cooking the bread 90% and the final 10% upon order. This Rocklin franchise disregards the practice, leaves bread out like Subway/Logos and just wraps ingredients in a stale roll. I could continue on about not following order instructions or telling customers ingredients like secret sauce aren't included on numbered sandwiches, however my chief complaint is in the first paragraph. read more

No consistency at all. Sometimes the sandwiches are ok, but every time we DoorDash from there, there is nothing on them. They often have a teenage girl making people's food, and she makes your really expensive sandwich as if she's making a light snack for herself. I often swing by The Sandwich Spot for lunch, and my experiences have always been amazing! My favorite is the spicy chicken, but they also occasionally have a tri-tip French dip sandwich which is out of this world. The staff members like Aiden, Elijah, and the owner/manager Tim are all fantastic! They provide personable service and great recommendations if you aren't sure what to try. The store is always clean and decorated for any holidays going around, and they even have cool posters of vintage cars to look at while waiting for your sandwich.
