I usually enjoy coming to Jack's Urban Eats in Roseville, but unfortunately, my visit today was really disappointing. There was a new employee at the counter taking orders, and while I understand everyone has a learning curve, it was clear they weren't properly trained or supported. Orders were being taken incorrectly--including mine--and when I received my food, several items were missing. I tried to politely ask one of the servers for help correcting the issue, but she was incredibly rude and seemed completely uninterested in helping. It felt like I was being a burden just for asking to receive what I paid for. The lack of customer service really soured the whole experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because it's frustrating to have a go-to spot let you down like this. A little more training and a lot more kindness would go a long way. read more

First off I am an advocate for Jacks Urban Eats food. I have to say they have some of the best quality hands down and my go to salad is the Sante Fe Chicken Salad. It has great ingredients and can be very filling for a salad. That is IF ALL the ingredients make it in the salad. I ordered a salad and it was missing 3 full ingredients. Jimica, Tortilla strips, Spiced Chikpeas. I understand mistakes happen but how does 3 ingredients get left out of the entire salad???!! We cant pay $15 for a salad and be missing half of the salad I send this review so that the correct actions can be taken so that process like this do not happen because I want to support this restaurant. Food was good. I had the achiote chicken salad. The salad part was great though would have liked a bit more chickpeas and corn. The chicken was meh. Mom had the salmon and mashed potatoes and asparagus. The serving size was generous especially with the yummy potatoes. The asparagus was flavorful and cooked well they just need to teach their staff to trim the ends as they were extremely tough and inedible. Just get rid of that part, super easy. Place was clean. Chicken Strips for my guys and I ventured with the Korean Beef Salad with red quinoa, cucumber, cabbage, mixed greens and and great tasting dressing on the side. Strips were a hit Salad not so much. The outside dining area here is people-watch central if you enjoy doing that... it's really a good location. Center of The Fountains, I could sit here for hours! But that wasn't the plan today - I got a salad (Steak Salad) and it was very decent... nice and fresh ingredients, it hit the spot for what I was looking for. I really like the combination of steak (tri-tip in this case) with blue cheese and look for it often if I'm in the mood for a salad. Jack's salad is one of the better ones in this category in the area that I'm aware of. Personally, I think the cranberries are a bit of a mismatch, but that's probably more of a personal opinion than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I like dried cranberries just fine... I just wouldn't have thought to put them on this type of salad if I was making the salad myself. Great option at The Fountains Phase 2 of Governor Newsom's plan allowed for restaurants to open but not without numerous restrictions. Two weeks ago they offered sit-down dining with modifications and guests were able to enjoy the seating out on the patio. Now the dining room inside is also open to guests for inside dining option with every other table/booth blocked to comply with social distancing. It was my first time here at JUE and got takeout food. I ordered a Club sandwich (for me) and my teen wanted the California Cheese Steak. We also ordered Garlic Fries and Urban Fries. At home we enjoyed our sandwiches but because we dug into the fries first we were only able to eat half of our sammies each. Ooooh the garlic fries were so good and plentiful. The sandwiches were huge. I chose turkey for my Club (the other option is chicken). It included swiss cheese, bacon, avo, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and honey mustard on a sourdough roll. Hold the red onion. Food was delicious, all made fresh. Vegetarian friendly too. Jacks is a counter-service food joint. All staff members wore masks and gloves. They were fast and efficient. The ambiance was pleasant with modern decor and lots of California wall art. The cashier was nice, friendly and helpful which I appreciated being my first time there. Jacks became a part of The Fountains' restaurant family when The Counter closed down in 2012. I'm soooo way late in the game. This food is always the same no matter what location you choose. My usual here is a Caesar salad with chicken add cucumbers and avocado and besides the dressing it's always on point. I usually have to order an extra dressing because it could come with too little dressing too much dressing or just the perfect amount. But besides that no complaints. Just moved from San Jose to Roseville last year and just started venturing out to look for good places to eat. We decided to try this place. Service is very quick. Fries came first then our Entrees. My wife and I had the Tri-Tip sandwich and the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. Both were very flavorful, but lukewarm. The bread was hot, but not the meat. Since this was our first time, we did not know if this was the standard. So we stopped a young lady that happened to be the Shift Supervisor. Chelsea was Awesome!! The way she handle the situation and answered all of our questions was FANTASTIC!. She offered several solutions, and we declined them all because the sandwiches were good and we ate half of them. At the end, she made it right. I work with young people at UCSC; sometimes the future is a little scary. Talking to Chelsea gives me confidence that the future is much brighter, safer and there is hope. I don't know who the owner is, but you selected you right person to handle people that are hungry with a professional demeanor. She ROCKS!!. We will be back. read more

But as 3 stars goes, it's just OK. They used to be known for their trip-tip and turkey, but it seems that, over time, quality and quantity has decreased in lieu of just getting costumers through. On this latest visit, the Trip Tip sandwich did not have a lot of meat and was still very pricy. It was, kind of just a lot of bread. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty, but for that price, there should be a LOT more meat and maybe, a lot less bread. My son's meal, the kids meal, was kind of just pathetic. Having lived in the area for some time now I've been to a decent number of the jacks locations. This one has become my favorite. The staff here is always very nice and greet with a warm welcome. It's usually pretty busy when I come during lunch hour , but the food always comes out quick and always on point. Shout out to whoever is cooking the tri-tip too. Being a super hot day I was concerned it had gone bad. The salad also had very few of each of the items I had requested and even missed a few. Very little dressing as well. The salad consisted of grilled tri-tip, mixed greens, crumbled blue cheese, sun-dried cranberries, rosemary croutons and red onions. I added to the salad some avocado .... which I would do again. The balsamic vinaigrette was a nice flavor enhancer. Overall, the salad was not bad. The mixed greens were fresh and crispy. The tri-tip was flavorful but not enough meat in my opinion. ZERO STARS!!!!!! I had door dash sent, so this is purely a food review. My macaroni and cheese was TERRIBLE. When I say terrible it is the worst I have had in my live, not joking. The pasta is cavatappi; the spiral hollow pasta that is about 1 and 1/2 inches when cooked. It's a thick noodle meant to be served with a heavy meaty sauce. This sauce for this "macaroni & cheese" was the consistently of half n half. It tasted like watered down Annie's pasta sauce, with less salt. I really wish they had a zero stars option. I usually enjoyed coming to jacks but this time it was a bad experience I been here many times and have always been able to change my grilled chicken on my salad to two buffalo strips no problem this time the girl at the counter tried to up charge 2.50 per strip also I had said no jalapeños. I received my salad with the jalapeños and also a few blue cheese crumbles in there which really ruined the taste which does not come in the Santa Fe salad . Also when asking for two water cups I received one and when asking for a second I got the I guess answer and look. Tried to upgrade the fries to the urban fries for my husbands burger I guess she was unable to do that without charging for a full other set of fries ?
