I love jacks urban eats. So I was really excited to take my friends from out of town there Saturday night, and to have it be the newly opened one, awesome. We get there at 9:40, look at the menu, go up to order and at THAT time are told "we're actually closed." First of all... They were not closed. I know they are new to the Fountains but it seems they should know how a restaurant works. You aren't CLOSED until it is 10:00. I previously worked at a restaurant in the fountains and know how annoying it is to have people come in close to closing, but you still have to serve them like any other guest. It's not like were going to be "campers." But regardless if we were or weren't going to be "campers", we should have been served. That's how the restaurant business is... JUST FYI. read more

These employees here are really because every Wednesday I train dogs at pet food express next door and need something to eat so I just order soup and I believe it was the manager that got me soup and had me pay for it up front I am definitely gonna keep coming here because I have never been treated like this ever. My wife and I decided to give this spot a try, even though they replaced our beloved COUNTER BURGER. We go in, order two sandwiches, and a "family sized" order of Urban Fries. We proceed to fill up our sodas after paying, and even before our sodas are filled, they tell us our fries are ready and put in on the counter. THAT FAST?! Nice! Except... Wait.. COLD STALE FRIES!! I tell the girl behind the counter that these fries were ready before we even walked off your soda machines, and they're cold. She was nice enough to replace it for us. The good comes. Meat that is COLD to the touch, and cheese that is literally so cold, it looks like they picked a slice out of the fridge, and topped the sandwich off with it. I'm ok if the cheese isn't fully melted, but FRIDGE COLD?? No thanks! The prices aren't too bad, but ($30 for both of us) they could be a bit less, especially for the quality they served. Atmosphere: The place was empty except for us, and two other tables. But I counted 11 DIRTY TABLES, with dishes left on them from previous customers that had left. What the hell?? With the 4-5 employees behind the counter on a slow night... Clean the tables up!!! Disgusting atmosphere, ran by a bunch of prissy little teens who have no business working there. Will not return. I wish I could bump my review for something: the service, a kind lad who happened to hold the door for me on the way out. Alas, I just can't. I had the tri-tip salad; my boyfriend the Rueben sandwich. The sandwich itself took 30 minutes without even a warning of: "Hey, you could watch an episode of The Office before your food will be ready." And once it was ready? Burnt to a crisp with processed meat. Gee, thanks for leaving me in suspense. Oh, and those sweet potato fries I ordered? Now cold and without a speck of salt to same their lives. Throw in some fatty tri-trip, and I'd call that a trif*ckta. This is literally the worst jacks and I LOVE jacks urban eats. Today I ordered a small urban fry and they gave me an entire plate of practically raw and under cooked French fries. I couldn't even eat one. I also ordered a bbq chicken sandwich that had the tiniest amount in bbq sauce and no mayo. It was the driest thing I've ever had and the bread was also hard as a rock. It was all to go so of course we didn't realize this until we got home. This is not our first bad experience. We try coming back every few months or so hoping for a better experience and nope. I ordered a salad last time and it had the chicken and 2 out of the 6 toppings. It was basically lettuce and chicken. I'm completely done with this place. I don't know if the staff is lazy, or not being trained properly or what is going on but I'm tired of wasting my money on poorly prepared food that I think is going to be good and it's terrible. My sister also ordered a chicken sandwich to go from them a few weeks back and they literally forgot the freaking piece of chicken. I ordered the Lemon Thyme Chicken and it wasn't fully cooked. Since it was to go, I did not know until I was home. I couldn't cut the chicken; it was hard. I immediately called the location and voicemail picked up; I left a message with my contact information and expressed my concern that someone might get food poisoning. I never received a call back. Surprised, I called again on Monday as I'm a loyal patron. Again, I left a message; it will be 3 weeks on Monday with no response. SOOOOO GOOD! I ordered their Cajun Chicken Sandwich with garlic fries and OMG it was sooooo delicious. Flavorful! The mango salsa on the sandwich was such an amazing touch and the garlic fries had SO much garlic on them it was awesome! We also ordered their urban fries and those were bomb too! We got there as soon as it opened, which ended up being perfect because by the time we started eating there was a line out the door. It was insane! I saw a few of their salads come out and I almost regretted not getting one, they look amazing and they're HUGE! The portions at this place are great, a little expensive, but worth it for sure. The only little thing that threw me off was the staff was really friendly except for the cashier, she looked like she could be ANYWHERE else but there. Wow. Do they have awful customer service. Came in on a Monday night and was here at 8:17 pm and the jacksurbaneats.com says they are open till 9PM but apparently they closed at 8PM. How was I suppose to know this? I walked in at 8:17 like normal. Was greeted by 3 people. Then I got all the way to the end where you order your salad and then poor high school kid looks up at me and says "uh...... We're closed." Then one of the guys that greeted me laughed at me. HELLO, I am a paying customer but it's cool make fun of me even though you fail to update your websites. Why would 3 team members greet me if they were closed instead of greeting me? I've tried the majority of their sandwiches and salads and have created my own (I like their tri tip). The salads are pretty large. I'd recommend "adding" things to your sandwich if you choose the classic, because the toppings are kind of minimal. Please order the urban fries, which come with a chili oil and blue cheese (unless you're ordering for delivery...I can see how these could get soggy in 20 min). So, here I am complaining about a place I like. I discovered Jacks Urban Eats during the COVID19 lockdown and fast found it to be a favorite. However today I was not too pleased with the service. I placed my order online and went to the curb-side pick up parking spots and called the number. The young man who answered sounded rushed, I could hear lots of activity in the background. When I asked for extra dressing for my salads, I purchased four, he was like.. you want extra dressing? Four of them? The tone in his voice made me feel like he was shocked I asked for more. So my suggestion is this.. if its not there, and I looked, perhaps overlooked, but didn't find... put a spot on the order form for extra dressing, I don't even mind if I would have to pay extra. And then at the end of the conversation he said, be right out, click. EXCUSE me.. good-bye is the way to end a call. I was NOT impressed. Busy or not busy, its my dollars that keep his store in business and his salary paid. Can you say.. CUSTOMER SERVICE. I eat at this jacks sometimes for lunch and today i came in and ordered like usual, i realized i left my debit card in my car as i came up to pay, so i told the cashier i will go grab it, as i walk out to go get my card one of their employees comes after me and tells me not to worry about it to save the walk that they'll take care of it. I really enjoyed my buffalo chicken sandwich and the friendliness of the staff. However, the Urban fries which are usually amazing, were lacking in blue cheese crumbles and there was a very small amount of cheese on them. I will probably order them again next time, but hopefully they are as flavorful as I remember them the last time I went there. read more

We like JUE in general. At every other location we get cheerful and expedient service. But not at the Fountains location. Tonight was exceptionally horrible. There were two girls behind the counter who treated us with such an attitude like we were burdening them with our order. We are in the service business. We have never encountered such rudeness in such a long time. They had an attitude of a bratty thirteen year old girl. Forgive us for being customers! And there was no manager in sight. Wow!! My first outing to Jack's and I must say I wish there was one closer to where I live. We lucked out and got their right as they were opening and I was amazed at how quickly the place filled up. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich and also split small-sized garlic fries with a friend. Portion sizes were perfect, plenty of fries to share and the sandwich wasn't too big, but I was definitely full. Good ratio of meat:sauce on the sandwich and though I rarely eat red meat, the tri-tip was so good that I'm glad I tried it. Everything I saw other people eating looked delicious too, though, so I think I would have been happy no matter what I ordered. Great place to eat during a day of shopping when you don't want to have a long or expensive lunch. Seems like a lot of the complaints are about service, but if you go in understanding the concept (quality food in a nice setting, but where they try to get your food out and tables cleared asap like in a fast food restaurant), you won't be disappointed. read more

I stopped in for a Thai Prawn salad. Very good and generous portion. I like the remodel they did on this location at the Fountains. Lots of outdoor seating too. After glancing at the menu it did not take long for me to make up my mind on what i wanted to order. The salad was fresh and the dressing on the side is really good too. It is very rich. I only needed a dab. excellent prawns, and they dont skimp.This salad is really large enough for two people. Very fast service. Clean insdie and out. There is always a lot of action at The Fountains to watch if you dine on the patio. I have eaten in the Mid-town location before and i really like the mashed potatoes. My review has nothing to do with the food - which is fine for the type of establishment. Overall the employees who were there during my visit were doing their job. However, I had reason to call the manager (who was not there the day I went) over something that happened to me while I was there. I left a message for the manager to please return my call. So I recently visited Jacks Urban Eats in the Roseville Fountains for the second time since they have opened and once again tried the Tri-Tip. Although the meat was tasty it was, in my opinion uneatable. The problem is in the way the meat was carved. Simply speaking, Tri-Tip and most if not all roasts need to be cut against the grain. This allows for short lengths of fiber that can be easily chewed. In both of my visits to Jacks the Tri-Tip was cut with the grain-creating long fibers that are almost impossible to chew. I would think that who ever is responsible for carving the Tri-Tip would know this and do it right. Until the carver understands this simple concept I will avoid ordering the Tri-Tip and instead go with the Turkey. read more
