You know it's gonna be good --- it's JACKS!! My friend and I were originally going to eat dinner at Sumo Sushi but noticed that Jack's was now open, and let me tell you the craziest face I made. I was in total heart attack shock because I didn't even know there was going to be a frikken Jack's in Roseville! I was insanely surprised -- good surprise! I have and will always be a fan of Jack's Urban Eats and it is the first place I normally tell visiting relatives or friends to try. My favorite is their Steak salad for $9.95, especially their Urban fries (family size) for $4.95. I have yet to try everything on the menu but it is very challenging for me to stray away from the steak salad. Unfortunately, the customer service was a bit disappointing but understandable because they just opened. You know at Jack's that there's a salad "line" and a sandwich "line." Well that day I was going to order a BBQ Tri-tip sandwich and I was in that "line" for 15 minutes just waiting for someone to take my order. That was the bummer of the day because it took that long. However, the food is still wonderful so definitely one of the best places to recommend to anyone =) read more

Not from here, but frequently go to Bayside Church close by. After the 11:30 service was over we were hungry so we drove into the outdoor mall to find a place to eat. The parking lot was packed and so was the place when we walked in. The decor is not very appealing and it's pretty noisy. You order your food at the counter and you can watch them starting to prepare whatever you ordered right away. The food came quickly and the salads looked good. I had the Steak Salad. However, looks we're deceiving. There wasn't much steak in it and the ingredients were lacking, but the dressing was good. I really like jacks for a good, quick sit-down lunch. From the first time that I ever dined at Jack's I have been partial towards their buffalo chicken sandwich. It takes a bit longer to come out then other food items, but it is worth it. The chicken is white meat and is battered and deep fried and then smothered with a spicy buffalo sauce. They toast the bun that the sandwich comes on, which is an added bonus. They then pile the sandwich with blue cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato, and onions. I recommend that you also try out a side of the Urban Fries. They are some of the most perfectly cooked french fries topped with blue cheese dressing, hot chili oil, and red pepper flakes. Dip those babies in some ranch or ketchup and you will not be disappointed. read more

FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!! I came here for the first time after a hard workout wanting some cold food, but for some reason ordered the Cajun Chicken Sandwich. BEST SANDWICH EVER!!! They put this weird mango salsa that you would't even guess is salsa, but tasted so perfect. I totally recommend the Cajun Chicken Sandwich. I also ordered the Urban Fries...a weird combination of sauces and oils, but fantastic...I also recommend them. Despite all of these praises, I disliked one thing. I paid $3 for a little cup of broccoli and cheese. They're nothing special. Don't get those, they're not worth it. You can make the same at home. Great over all! You won't regret coming here. Large servings, comfort food, loaded salads, large servings, delicious sandwiches, fast service, and LARGE SERVINGS. Jack's is a food coma waiting to happen, which may or may not be what you're looking for. What holds this place back from a perfect rating for a lunch spot has less to do with how the food tastes and more about how easy it is to walk out of there having devoured a bacon laced cheeseburger and enough fries to fill a shoebox. That or a salad with enough toppings to stretch the boundaries of what is supposed to be a healthy meal option. I go here for make your own salad all the time! I like their fresh turkey and the other veggies! They have quick service and decent sandwiches too! I can make my own salad with turkey and 6 ingredients for about $11. Their veggies are sometimes seasonal for example during summer they have peaches and strawberries and winter they have butternut squash and yam! But the truly outstanding thing about this location is the hospitality. Location is perfect - it's sits near a little preserve and there's lot of people and wildlife to be seen. There's tons of seating options both inside and out- booths, tables, bistro tables. The quality of the food was pretty good, but the quality assurance wasn't so great (too many young cooks in the kitchen maybe?). There was a hair on my pickle and there were bloody spots on my chicken that I only noticed once 3/4 were already eaten. The Jack's classic and the Hawaiian chicken sandwiches are essentially the same thing except the Hawaiian has a pineapple slice that was soaked in some kind of sweet marinade. Came here with a group of 8 people, and was pleasantly surprised! The way the food and kitchen works, it reminds me of a Pluto's restaurant. I ended up sharing food with a friend, we split a tri-tip sandwich and a salad... along with a side of Mac'n Cheese. The mac n cheese was a bit watery, but tasty. The salad was fresh and crisp, while the tri-tip was cooked perfectly. I'm always a little bit weary of these places that pre-cook the meat and then just re-heat it on the grill when you order, but it tasted good and wasn't dry like I expected it to be. I also saw a lot of people ordering the mash potatoes and garlic fries, I'll give that a shot next time. Overall, it seems like a step up from fastfood or your normal sandwich shop... Who doesn't like French fries? And you put cheese and pepper flakes on them...and there you have them - Urban Fries! I would go here just to eat these. I have tried the chicken club and BBQ chicken. Jack's is one of our standby restaurants that we go to almost religiously. Near Kaiser Roseville we literally got through 3 chemo years (and 2 remission years!) with our little dude by looking forward to coming here after for the last FIVE years today!!! I almost always get a build your own salad and urban fries and buffalo chicken sandwich is always on our list as well. For the salad the greens are always fresh and there's always at least two dozen different toppings to choose from. I've never been disappointed at any of the toppings they're always fresh too!!! You get a decent portion of the toppings too nothing skimpy here the salad is huge as you can probably see from the photo?? The urban fries are fabulous freshly cooked fries top with blue cheese dressing and chili flakes... I know what you might be thinking blue cheese dressing - but I assure you it is divine it's not over the top powerful blue cheese just a good counterbalance to the heat. Some fresh parsley and you're good to go ;) for the buffalo chicken sandwich it's a nice portion of meat it's very hardy so if your hungry this will be good to fill you up... it is not overly breaded and make it a little dry so we get an extra portion of the buffalo sauce to add to the sandwich?? Homemade mac & cheese and sides that are great! They always have a soup of the day cheese bread mac & cheese... The turkey club was well received and had a decent portion of bacon on it with avocado!! I havent been home in months, but once I do make it home I heading to Jack's with a group of friends for a grand meal like the old times. The food is delicious and reasonable for the price. Everything is made to order in front of you down the serving line, and the product melts in your mouth everytime. I highly recommend their garlic friend, and any of their sides. I am an active army airborne infantry soldier who doesn't have much time with my daughter, and tonight I felt very bad about my experience. Jack's would most of the time get four stars but I was in there the other night and they ran out of tri-tip. Seriously, you only serve one type of beef in the entire restaurant and you ran out? Maybe that says how good the tri-tip is or maybe it was an off day and they didn't have enough. The wait is never too long at this location, but if you come with a big group of people who want Jack's and you don't there are plenty of other food choices in the same parking lot. Salads are always pretty good, but I love the Urban Fries, make sure you get a family order as a single is not enough. I love their take on the banh mi sandwich, so that's worth a try if you love the original Vietnamese version. read more

So here we go, every time I come in I love the food. Fresh ingredients, amazing taste, great price. I had the turkey club today and loved every bite of it. If you haven't had the French fries, they are a must. This was going to be a 3 star review. The service when I walked in was terrible, rude, arrogant and obnoxious. On Saturday we ordered two sandwiches - Turkey with Brie, Chicken with no pickles, side house salad with extra ranch dressings for dinner to be delivered by DoorDash. The total cost was over $40.00. What was delivered in plastic containers was two cold sandwiches and fries. The Turkey sandwich did not have the the Brie that we paid extra for and the chicken sandwich had pickles on it. The salad was just spinach leaves in a small container with no extra ranch dressing. We have eaten pre COVID in the restaurant and loved the food. I usually really like jacks and don't mind spending a little extra money on a good salad since their food is a bit pricey, but tonight I went in and ordered a plain chicken Caesar salad and spent $13 total. Since covid is not allowing placer county to have indoor seating, I took my food to go and they handed it to me in a brown paper bag. Upon getting home, my salad had no dressing either in it or on the side. I understand that mistakes can happen but the lettuce was also so poorly chopped and the pieces were practically the size of my hand. Really disappointed :( read more

Very dissatisfied with the service when picking up my order. Staff not only didn't acknowledge me, but gave off a very standoffish attitude when I spoke to them. Then when I got home and noticed something was missing from my order, I called to receive a refund and the girl on the phone left me on hold for a very long time and didn't issue a single apology. Used to love Jack's but they've really gone down hill lately. Food doesn't really seem fresh like it used to be. Their mashed potatoes are terrible now... Last couple times I've ordered them I've received a brownish Grey lump of potatoes that tastes like dirt. If you have a question and want to call to talk to someone, don't bother. Sometimes service is a little chaotic especially during peak hours but it'll be like that no matter what restaurant you go to. And the people behind the counter are just trying to do their best. This is one of my favorite lunch spots and i've never had a bad experience as far as I can remember. The urban fries are my favorite thing in the entire world. The bbq chicken sandwhich, Chinese chicken salad, and the tri tip steak salad are my go-to choices if you need help deciding what to get. I am SO EXCITED to have a great salad place in Roseville other then Plutos. It's nice to get fast, healthy and fresh food and not have to battle the mall. I've been there 3 times so far (twice for dinner and once for lunch). Each time there was a very long line, but the service was still pretty fast. I thought I'd have to wait forever, but the line moves quickly. There is some confusion about a salad line VS a sandwich/hot food line.... there is no clear cut division between where to stand and if you want both hot food and a salad I found it hard to get in both lines or maneuver through the crowd to order. That being said I LOVED the food!!! French fries: they are OK. Good but nothing to write home about. Garlic french fries: the taste was great but they were VERY greasy. The garlic topping must have been soaking in oil that they just poured on? Large/full salad: HUGE with tons and tons of lettuce. I found the amount of topping I had to be lost in my lettuce. Small/half salad: Great size and good lettuce proportion to toppings. Even if this is your dinner a small salad is plenty big (and I can eat a lot, lol). You get the same amount of toppings on the small salad (just less lettuce). Chicken strips/ tenders: My husband thought these were ok and said they tasted pre-made similarly to fast food restaurants. He expected more. I only really have 2 complaints. Number 1 issue is that you can NOT call in orders by phone for pick up. I live close and would love to order dinner and just swing in and pick it up. When I asked for a phone number to call in my order I was told, "we don't do that." Number 2 issue is that is a bit $$. For dinner the price is fine, but I can't spend $13 on lunch! I had a small salad, a small fries and a drink and it was $12 and change. Love this place! Always come here with my boyfriend and everything is always cooked so well. I love the tri tip steak and try to have it any way i can, (i like ordering the grilled cheese and putting steak in the middle).
