Gotcha Love Jacks! I'm so excited that Jack's has finally come to Roseville. I've been twice since it opened and the expectations lived up to their locations in Sacramento. Surprisingly the service was faster then I expected for being their first week open and my order was correct. Ok, ordered Tri Tip plate for $11.50. Meat was good, but the butternut squash wasn't cooked enough, mashed potatoes were good but gravy was kinda tasteless. Over all good atmosphere, friendly and fast service. Probably give it a second chance for lunch. read more

I was just at this location at 11 this morning. Their computer systems were down and there were at least 20 people that already ordered food. Instead of making a huge deal they provided the food free to these people.. That really shows they want your business and I definitely will be back. The food is amazing here. went there couple days ago with my daughter to have dinner after work. ordered chicken sandwich and urban fries. they brought me my sandwich and I've been waiting for my fries for 15 min and no one brought them to me. So I went up to the register and asked if my fries were ready and the girl told me "there working on it" . so I went back to my table, sat for another 10 min and still no fries, so I went to ask the employee if my fries were ready she just gave me fries that were made for someone else. the employee said ; you can just have these. I was so frustrated, like come on, aren't you going to at least apologize ? Anyways, Im glad I didn't give them a tip that day or otherwise id ask for my money back. read more

Very disappointing customer experience. I planned on taking my family to diner here. I have an allergy to some side dishes. After asking if I could exchange a side for something else, I got the "sorry". Not very accomdating or thoughtful. I'm " sorry ", I'll take my party of six elsewhere. Good concept, poor execution. Order takers were distracted, never made eye contact with us. How do you mess up French fries? By serving them lukewarm, even though it was the height of the dinner hour. I'll give it one more try, but I'll order one of the salads next time. 90% of the people around us were having salads. read more

Always friendly. Crowded some times but it is always worth the wait. FAVORITE THING: plenty of outdoor patio seating. Great for chatting with friends. Awesome SWEET POTATO fries! Food is good for upscale cafeteria...service and staff are rude and condescending! Came in on Friday night and wanted the salmon. After I ordered and was paying for the food they told me the were out...how can you be out of salmon at 5pm on friday? So we changed our order, we also ordered a side of fries. They pushed the food out wrong and the fries did not arrive until after we finished our meal. The guy who delivered the fries and the girls at the front treated us as if we were just another problem and offered very empty apologies. This is not the vibe you get at the mid-town Jacks. If you want Jacks drive the extra 30 mins to mid-town or just eat some where else. It looks pretty nice there... the food there is good . The sweet potato fries have a lot of flavor. It's, salty sweet and moist at the same time. Sometimes they can be a bit soggy though. The service is nice . If you need a fast meal Jack's it's your place to have lunch or dinner. read more

Jack's is the place to go with my niece and nephew since they love their mac n cheese. However after this experience, I will have to stop. I ordered a salad to go and wished my preparer was wearing some gloves regardless of using tongs to prepare the salad. Instead I got to see him use the hands he picked his teeth right before preparing my food. I didn't want to make a scene and paid for my meal. I would also appreciate it if I saw less hair in the face and over the food. Yes, majority of the hair is tied back and it's the style to have some front hair to frame the face, but don't think it's the style for a restaurant. read more

Total fan! I wished they had this place in The Bay Area. I went up to Roseville and my friend suggested this restaurant. I liked the way you order, and I liked all the items listed on the menu as well. Everything was reasonably priced and very fresh! Went here with my boyfriend and ordered a salad. Later found a small rock in my salad. I found it by biting into it. Had this review not been made a day later, I would've included a picture. Food was good aside from this. On top of the rock in my food, my boyfriend's spicy chicken salad had two small pieces of chicken and only 3 apple slices whereas mine was loaded with all of the ingredients. To start, their steak salad is my favorite! Really good steak. BUT it gets the 3 stars because they get my order wrong every...single...time. I get the steak salad but change out one thing and get dressing on the side. Maybe a little picky but it's what I like. (And not difficult) They start by picking up a pad and pen and then put it down because it's not a sandwich.. just write it down! Either my switch isn't there (to which I'm allergic..) or the dressing isn't there at all or on the salad already. The rest of the service is great but tip from a customer, I rarely write reviews but it's simple..just start writing down salad orders! Even if it's "from the menu". I don't like sending back my order, I really really don't. And it's such an easy problem to fix. read more

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant recently and we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is nice and the food is great! Decently priced for a fresh salad and an amazing steak sandwich! Me and my boy Emil Minty eat here a lot. We always see a tall guy from Bayside named KJ. This guy eats more salad then 10 goats. He says the salads are the best around and I believe him cuz this guy grazes like 22 herbivores. Me? I always eat Jacks mashed potatoes and gravy + turkey. It never disappoints. It's not as good as granny's thanksgiving but it's also better than Sam's Hauf Brau on Watt and El Camino. I used to go there a lot to get roast beef but Jacks does the trick for me now. This is a Plutos wanna be that unfortunately misses the mark in terms of flavor, atmosphere, cost. The layout is a bit awkward--the entrance to the restaurant is flanked by trash cans and dirty dishes on one side, and a table full of utensils on the other and in front of you are a bunch of tables. The starting point is off to the right and it's not very obvious that those little fliers on the left are the menus. But once you get yourself situated, ordering is a pretty straightforward process. The food did come out promptly and hot, but you're pretty much paying sit down restaurant prices in order to eat somewhere where you have to grab your own fork and napkins. At $7.95 for a sandwich plus another $1.75 for fries (that are fried in a somewhat strange tasting oil) seemed a bit high. The macaroni and cheese had no flavor whatsoever. The serving of mashed potatoes was generous. Overall, at this price range you have many options; Pluto's is one of them, in fact it's a better value. read more

Went in, stood in line of about 10 people - ordered the special they had written on the board, they told me they were out. Ok then, you may want to take that off the board thats inches from my eyes. I then ordered something from the regular menu, paid and then sat and waited for our food. 5 mins goes by and then someone comes out and says they are out of what I ordered and makes a few suggestions for alternatives. I informed them that no, I won't be making a third attempt at giving you my money for food and that I just wanted a refund. They apologized and went about their day. I won't be going back to any of the locations since they obviously can't be bothered to keep menu items in stock or remove out of stock items off their specials boards. Plus most of the items seemed overpriced and the decor seemed really confused. I'm not sure the owners know what "urban eats" are, but I'm sure they aren't what you are serving and the name of the place really has nothing to do with whats going on inside as far as ambiance and decor are concerned. read more
