We are glad we chose Austin Moving Forward as our moving company for our big move into our new home. Jessica was very nice and always returned our calls in a timely fashion. Cody and William showed up at our storage facility and struck us as extremely professional. They handled all of our items in a very careful manner and they made sure to exercise extreme caution when loading our items into their truck. Upon arrival, they were extremely careful while unloading our items and transferring them into our home. What I appreciated the most was that both Cody and William made sure not to damage our wooden floors or dent/scuff our walls when taking some of the larger items upstairs. One small thing that Austin Moving Forward can improve upon is perhaps making a clearly visible sign on the street in the complex that their office is located in. Wanting to pay our deposit in person, we drove to their location, but were unable to actually find their office because of hard-to-find/no signage. We did try to call and get a hold of them at that point, however no one was in the office at that time. However, their professional customer service from beginning to end made up for this small inconvenience and we would most definitely recommend Austin Moving Forward to all our friends! I Asked for a recommendation or a referral, was told it will be hard to find someone this short of notice! Ummmm no shit Sherlock! That's why I booked you a month ago. They said oh, we can move you on Monday, if I could move Monday, I would have booked for Monday! My lease was up on Sunday. Then to get my refund I had to call accounting 2x. Furthermore a broken down truck is not a reason to cancel, go to Uhaul or one of the very many truck rental places in Austin and fulfill on your contracts. Absolutely horrible horrible horrible experience. I was able to after several frantic calls find another service who values me as a customer and felt for my situation. They literally squeezed me in after their last move, because they actually cared that I was stressed. AND they ended up being 70$ cheaper. Don't bother with Austin Moving Forward, what a joke. I've moved a lot. Like, A LOT...10 times in 10 years, to be precise. And I can say without a shadow of a doubt that these gentlemen are the best I've found yet. They were quick, kind, and professional, as well as helpful, going above and beyond to do small things that, in the end, make a big difference. For instance, one of the nails on the back of my IKEA dresser fell off, and the backing was coming away from the unit. The gentleman fixed it for me without me even having to ask! BEWARE!!! Avoid these guys. I needed some furniture delivered from Austin to West Austin (maybe 13 miles). They charged me $1,497. My out of state designer scheduled it and the store suggested them. They had three guys and were at my house for between 1 and 2 hours. Said they waited at the warehouse and then unboxed and inspected everything there, which took time. Then charged me $165/hour and said it was 7.5 hours. Then added $165 more for travel and $45 for gas. $210 to drive across town. Then $50 to throw away the boxes. Criminal! Moving company on Groupon charged me $225 for the next load from the same store. read more

I was very pleased with Austin Moving Forward! I called mid-week and was able to get my move schedule two days later! Not only that but they had the best hourly and travel fee in town! Communication was great on moving day and they successfully moved my NUMEROUS items from storage unit to my new home! The only downside was I was not aware that they would be using extra supplies to complete the move such as boxes and tapes, so that racked up a bit but understandable. Just keep that in mind when you get a quote. One thing that stood out to me about this company was that they are very honest! Found the company through yelp and it definitely did not disappoint. For starters, Annie on the phone accommodated all the 10-15 changes I had in terms of inventory, moving date and location. I needed two quotes, one to move cross country and the other one in case things go south with my new job and I only need storage for a month. They were able to accommodate both of them based on how things work out. Secondly, the day of the move could not have gone better. Ben called me half an hour earlier and let me know they are coming and explained all the charges and what all I need to know. They were pretty quick and wrapped up in less than two hours. One star. These folks did a great job when moving my elderly parents from one city to another. So I hired them again when I was moving from one end of my apartment complex to the other end... It was a horrible experience. I was incredibly overcharged for the poorest service imaginable. And when I spoke with the owner about the lack of service and poor handling of my belongings, her response was that she hoped that if I moved again that I would give them another try. I did move again. I did not give them another try. The company was overbooked that weekend and the two men were on a tight schedule. They left before the promised allotted time was up after, essentially, tossing my belongings into my apartment. I was very ill with cancer and not able to pack. I would highly recommend using Austin Moving Forward, especially for an out of town move. They were the most inexpensive out of town movers that I could find. Knowing that I needed to go with my cheapest option, I was hoping that the movers would do a decent job, but understand that you get what you pay for. I used them to move from Austin to Houston recently and my expectation were exceeded. The two movers showed up on the early end of their window and got my entire apartment loaded into the truck within the quoted hour. All of my things were packed on the truck and safely transported to Houston without any damage. I was impressed by how friendly and professional my movers were, too. While one worked with me on paperwork, the other started gathering items to take to the truck. Every bit of their time was used efficiently. We had to change the day of our move at the last minute, and the other moving company we had booked couldn't accommodate the new day. Enter Austin Moving Forward. They arrived on time with great attitudes. There was an issue with the reservation of the freight elevator at my building, so we had to share it with other movers, which resulted in a slightly longer moving time than expected. The Austin Moving Forward movers remained upbeat and positive the entire time despite the delay. In addition, no items were damaged during the move. Moving sucks. Avoid at all cost!!! They damaged my washer, refrigerator, and destroyed my 60" TV by pushing it into the truck so the door would close. I filed a claim and after no contact after 10 days I was told the claim was cancelled by the owner. This was my first time using a moving company. They were very polite, friendly, showed up early and had everything packed and loaded on their truck within an hour of arriving. Tho whole move only took them two hours. Everything arrived at my new place exactly how they put it on the truck, nothing was damaged. Just make sure you pay attention to the time it takes and the driver doesn't try to make you pay for more time than they actually used to move you. The quote she gave me was exactly what I paid. My two movers, Patrick and Matt, were on time and were genuinely nice guys to work with. They were very quick and careful. Everything was securely wrapped with blankets. My furniture was not only very heavy, but the pieces were really big. Patrick and Matt had no trouble carrying things up to the second floor. I used Moving Forward for my in town move. I requested quotes online at several companies and Jessica contacted me almost immediately, hours before any other company. Will and Jake came on the day of my move, called 30 minutes before arriving and worked hard the entire time.
