We moved out of an apartment and into a two story duplex, and made them stop by my boyfriend's parents and they were done with everything in 3 hours. This is the second time I've used Jackson Moving, and both times their team has treated my possessions with care. On top of that glowing review, their pricing is staright forward, and there were no hidden fees. $115/hr for two guys and a 16' truck. Two hour minimum. So, I was pretty dubious about moving companies in general. Growing up, my family moved ourselves for every move, so the idea of hiring someone was weird. For the record, the company I work for moved us in to the area with a contracted moving company, and they took all day to move us out, and all day to move us in. Even more strange, booking through Yelp itself was an odd experience, but Thurman was very professional, helpful and thorough. Just be ready with your info, as his responses are very fast, and I don't think he will wait for you if you take hours to respond. These guys did about 95% of what it took three guys from that other company did, and they did it in 3 hours. Even better, they got us out of a third floor, then into another third floor in that time. Don't get me wrong, there was a couple things missed, and a lot left over, but this was NOT their fault. I asked them to leave some stuff, and we failed to pack some other stuff, so that's 100% on me. Incredible experience with Jackson's from booking to moving to after move in! Booking was easy, and they communicated via text (which I personally prefer). David was helpful and responsive with any questions I had when booking. On moving day, Dominique and Treyvon made the experience seamless. We were moving from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom, and they were SO quick, efficient, and friendly. I know it's to early to make hurricane references....but it is only fitting to describe the whirlwind allstar team of Daryl and Matt from this company. They Wrecked it! In a good way....man...I need to work on better analogies. They showed up ON TIME and gave a heads up call 20 min out. They surveyed the job upon arrival with enthusiasm....not a single grumble or complaint. They didnt START THE CLOCK until the first piece of furniture was picked up. And they HUSTLED the whole time. The only calm in the eye of the storm was during the drive to the new place...then they were back at it again. I could hardly keep up with how fast they were unloading the furniture. Both these guys had a great attitude, work ethic, and at the end of the day, you just want to shoot the breeze with them and crack open a beer. But they politely declined because they are on the clock and have another job...gotta love their integrity. Booking was easy with Thurman and everything was as promised...no hidden fees! My girlfriend and I booked our move with Jackson's based on the outstanding yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. We were moving from an apartment on the second floor to an apartment on the third floor in the same complex. Milton and Raymond called ahead to let us know what time they would arrive, they were on time, and got right to work. They hustled the whole time, and were very careful with our belongings. A desk that had been slightly damaged in a previous move didn't survive being tipped onto a dolly, and not only was Milton very apologetic but he actually offered to help me break it down and dumpster it OFF THE CLOCK after they had finished our move. I wouldn't hear of it, but that shows what kind of guys work for Jackson's. I couldn't be happier with our move. I have dealt with shady movers in the past, but Jackson's is the exact opposite. Well, this business is just terrific!! My wife and I selected them for 2 local moves, based mainly on their yelp reviews. They did not disappoint either time. They moved me back in June and were really pretty efficient. There was only one snafu. I downsized from a 2/2 to a 1/1 and about half my furniture I just needed them to move downstairs into my carport. I gave good instruction, I thought, but they moved one large hutch that needed to be left on the carport. It was big and heavy and I didn't have a way to get it back there, so we just left it by the dumpster. Kind of a bummer since I liked the piece. Someone snatched it up right away, so I guess it went to a good home. Make sure you clarify doubly good if you have a situation like mine, but that should go without saying. Jackson's Moving is fantastic! James, Daryl, and Rex did our move and made a great team. They had their system down and just kept moving quickly and efficiently. They were also very helpful, fun and nice gentlemen! I definitely underestimated the amount to move / pack up on my move day - I had been slowly moving things over to the new place over a week and a half and thought I was in somewhat good shape. I was wrong. But, the guys took it in stride and helped bring down less than ideally packed items to make sure they got everything I needed to the house! They even pointed out things I should get checked out with our furniture (missing pads on the couch legs, etc.). Daryl, Matt, and Jack did a fantastic job packing my stuff up and driving it up to Dallas. They didn't mind when they had to wait a half hour of me sleeping through eight of their phone calls and didn't mind when my apartment complex in Dallas made them wait an hour to start unloading my stuff. The company's price was very fair, best of the 5 quotes or so I sought out, and the diligence put into their work was fantastic; everything arrived in tip-top shape and Daryl even took the time to explain some of the issues my furniture had from previous moves when initially moving the stuff onto the truck. Despite temperatures in the upper 90s, a second story move of all large furniture, narrow and disjointed stairways and a door to truck distance of about 30 yards these guys busted their ass to get me moved in. Used this company to move from my 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apt to a home I just purchased in Bastrop 1 hr away). Movers called when they were headed to pick up all the furniture, were professional, courteous, and worked really hard! They had all my belongings packed, transported to Bastrop and unloaded within 4 hours! I was very impressed by how hard and fast they worked, especially since I moved from an apartment on the 3rd floor-with NO elevators! A fantastic moving experience. We originally had our movers set for Thursday morning, but had to reschedule at the last minute. Thurman was able to get me on their schedule the very next day! I thought for sure we would have to call all our friends and rent a truck, but we had movers set up for Friday. James and Steven called to let me know they were on their way, and provided an ETA. They arrived, looked at what we had to move, and got to work. We moved from a 2 bedroom duplex to a 4 bedroom house, and they were able to pack up the duplex in short order. We didn't have a lot of heavy furniture, but we have a lot of "stuff." They were able to get it all loaded in the truck, even though I thought for sure it would take 2 trips. I was fretting about the ride from South Austin to North: it was about 4:30 when we set out. They said they had a toll tag, so we didn't get stuck in any I-35 gridlock. When we arrived at the house, everything looked fine, and nothing had shifted. Unloading, I just directed them which rooms got which boxes. Super easy. Amazing experience with this moving company! So much cheaper than Einstein's, 2 men and a truck, etc. I decided to look locally and found this company! I had inquired for them to only move my bed, couch, and armoire. (Thinking those would take at least an hour), but they already had those in the truck in about 15 minutes. So they stayed and grabbed all the rest of my furniture and boxes. Incredible! They were so fast, 2 hour minimum and finished it right on time. These guys were awesome. They were super responsive on the phone, they showed up when they said they would, they completed the job in a reasonable amount of time, and the cost was not astronomical. I have debated about writing this review but the quantity of 5 star yelp reviews is misleading, let me explain why. We used these movers in August and so did 4 of our friends within about two months of each other. We all had the same experience. Someone's got to speak up. They show up late. All five of us had this experience. They take much longer to pack/move than they quote you. All five of us had this experience. This is a problem because they charge by the hour which seems like a great deal when they quote you and it makes them see much cheaper than the other guys in town. Not so. They are about equal. They overpack your things (my silverware, wooden spoons, and plastic cups were quadruple rolled in packing paper - file under things I'm not concerned about breaking during a move). This might have just be our experience but I was appalled at the amount of packing material they used. I have moved 10 times in 10 years and never wrapped breakable items as securely as these guys did. Double edged sword I guess? Nothing will break! Including your child's sippy cup. Here's the good. These guys are great at what they do. They are nice. They move fast once they are at your house. They make things right when they screw up. Another case in point: they broke our dresser during the move - they worked with us to determine how much the dresser was worth and gave us money to buy a new dresser. Good business right there. I won't say that you shouldn't do business with these guys. Just know that things may not appear as they are quoted. read more

These guys are awesome!!! This was definitely NOT my first moving experience, but it was by far the most pleasant. They quoted me the lowest price of all the companies I called. And they worked with me and my EXTREMELY short notice (i.e. 2 days). They were on time, even a bit earlier than I anticipated which was awesome. They moved all my clothes (and I didn't even have those special wardrobe boxes). They also got a shelf into a 3rd story loft that I swore wasn't going to fit. From start to finish it took a little less than 2 hours. I cannot recommend these movers enough!!
