I had my first massage here yesterday , and there were many things I really liked. The atmosphere was relaxing, the room was warm, dimly lit, quiet, and the music created a calming environment. The massage pressure was excellent, and the therapist (Coco) was very kind and friendly. Unfortunately, two things affected my overall experience. First, the therapist wore gloves throughout the entire massage without mentioning it beforehand. I completely understand there may be a valid reason for that, but I believe clients should be informed in advance because it significantly changes the feel of the massage. The second issue was that I could feel the therapist's phone vibrating on the massage table during my session. That felt unprofessional and interrupted the relaxing experience. Despite all the positive aspects, these two issues especially the use of gloves without any explanation are the reason I won't be returning. I booked a 90-minute appointment at Jade Day Spa for 1:15 PM, but was notified that the time had been changed to 1:30 PM. I arrived early, but wasn't taken back until 1:40 PM. The session then ended at 3:05 PM, falling short of the full 90 minutes I had scheduled and paid for. To make matters worse, the masseuse insisted on a 20% tip at the end, which made the situation uncomfortable--especially given the shortened service and the lack of professionalism around timing. Ok, this is a treasure that I really didn't know if I wanted to share. But here it goes... I am a major massage snob -- that said my muscles are extremely tight and need a significant amount of pressure to help me get the tension out. And, I am so glad I listened to yelp and tried this place. It's close to home. And more importantly it's affordable (to me it's the cost of physical therapy with my insurance co-pay). Coco is super sweet and just purely amazing. Don't get me wrong, after the massage and even a couple days later I feel like someone beat me up... but after my muscles realize they needed the massage I feel great for the longer term. Let me preface my review by saying, if you like deep pressure, this is the place for you - I thought I could handle it even after reading various reviews but my body is just too sensitive for deep heavy pressure. Here are some things I liked about Jade Spa: - the convenience of making appointments online - the convenience of being able to make same-day appointments - the price - the location - how clean it is I booked Anna based on reviews and was prepared to voice up if pressure was too much for me. When I walked in, as other reviewers stated, no one was at the front desk. I peeked into the hallway and said 'hello' - shortly after, a lady showed up and said hello to me and confirmed my appointment. Anna shows up and points me to the room. I walk in and she says hello then closes the door. You just have to know that that's your queue to take off your clothes and hop on the bed face down with the sheet covering you. The massage started off nicely and when her pressure was too much, I asked her to lighten up. I had to do that multiple times - I think that she just doesn't realize how strong her petite self is! Lol After the massage I definitely felt sore.. for days ... did she get the kinks out? Some - but I also suffered a migraine after my massage. Not her fault - if bodies aren't used to that heavy of a massage, that, unfortunately is the consequence. So make sure before you book, that you can really handle the pressure. Jade Day Spa is located off Crow Canyon in San Ramon across from Home Depot. There's a sign you can see off the street, making it fairly easy to find. It's located in a business office suite with parking behind the building. When you walk up the stairs, you'll see another huge Jade Day Spa sign and a directory showing the suite number in which they're located. I came here with my husband to getting some R&R from a busy week. We had a 630pm appointment. At first they weren't sure if we were reserved a spot, but they quickly resolved it. The only caveat was that I started 10mins earlier than my hubby and we weren't in one room. We both got the 60minute massage for $40. It was one of the best massages I ever got. I've visited Jade's Blackhawk location several times and always enjoyed the service. After I got married, I discovered that Jade offers side-by-side couples massages at its San Ramon Crow Canyon location. My husband and I have received two couples massages here over the past year and have loved each session. The location is accessible (right off the freeway and ample parking). The office itself is modest (don't expect luxurious trappings), but it's clean and very pleasant. The couples massage room is spacious and there's nice ambient lighting and soft music. Our massage therapists for each of the times we've visited were great. Don't expect a lot of chit chat. Just hard-working therapists who really don't let up or slack off. They can put pretty aggressive pressure on you, so if you're more sensitive, be sure to specify. Otherwise...they are realllly going to knead those knots out of your back. Walk in the door and nobody there, so was a little worried. No receptionist or anything. I waited and finally someone came out and helped me. So, it feels like the massage therapist are the receptionist and if someone is free, they will help you. Just have to wait for help. The lady was clearly displeased and even said something to her co worker in her language about it right in front of me. Then she had the audacity to ask more of a tip. Very attentive to my bodies reaction to firmness of massage. She checked in often for pressure and worked out some kinks in my shoulders. Normally I loathe having my legs massage and my feet (I'm freakishly ticklish) not with her, she worked my muscles and avoided any where that would make me laugh or ticklish. Sub par massage spot. I booked a 2 hour session today - combo 1 hour body and 1 hour foot massage. I came in and was greeted by a man behind the front desk and then a woman who I assume is/was my masseuse/therapist. I undressed and laid on the table face down. The woman came back in and laid the blanket over my back. She began to massage me over the blanket and at first it hurt. She was massaging my spine? With her forearm and elbow? I don't think that's safe..... but she eventually found some of my knots in my lower and upper back and she worked them out which was probably the only positive to this massage. Elsewhere, she would massage and feel where I'm tight or sore and massage that area for maybe a couple seconds and kneads and then move on. It was such a dang tease! This pattern pretty much went on through the entire two hours. And towards the last 40min, I can tell that she was just over it or already tired. Because in the beginning of the massage, she was pretty gentle and when she'd pick up my arm, she'd gently place it back on the table. Towards the end of the massage, she just lifted up my calf and let it fall back onto the table I mean I can understand, but damn lol. The suite wasn't the best for a "relaxing" type of vibe either. It was dimly lit and they had some typical soft instrumental music playing. But the front desk people were talking super loud. Doors would slam. Ring tones going off. And eh. Not the sort of place I'd find myself relaxing at. For what it's worth, the two hour combo massage was $80 and it was the cheaper options around Dublin / San Ramon so i thought I'd try it out. Take it from someone who has plenty of experience in remedial sports massage and Thai massage - you'll find professional massages here for unbelievably competitive prices. I'm glad I found this place and I have recommended it to several friends. As there are two locations in the San Ramon and Danville area, I've always been able to schedule a last minute massage when I need to, or see a regular masseuse by appointment beforehand. There is a potential downside that you'll want to be aware of though: most of the massage therapists do not speak English fluently. Most speak Cantonese. You can call in and ask for someone who speaks fluent English so you can see them regularly, but the language barrier has never been an issue for me in getting a quality massage. I've yet to have a single bad experience: I've always been able to communicate my needs even around injuries, but this may be an issue if you need treatment for a specific issue. read more

I visit the San Ramon office. It's a no-frills experience that offers a great value. At a high-end spa, you're paying for the cost of their business (high rent, expensive decor, etc). At Jade, don't expect much in ambience but enjoy a clean, inexpensive quality massage. I've tried a few therapists and all seem to give very deep tissue pressure. If that's not your desire, just let them know. I don't know why so many reviews here talk about the deep pressure like it's a negative thing! read more

I absolutely love this place!! I've been to both Danville and San Ramon with multiple therapists however I was with Anna yesterday for a 60 minute and she was AMAZING!!! I requested it not to be hard because some of those ladies really have strong hands which some people love, however I like it softer. Anna asked me multiple times during the session if I was comfortable which was nice. She worked out my arm and back which were extremely tight from carrying a baby and car seat around. I didn't point out any of the areas that needed work because my whole body did but she knew exactly what needed working on. Jade is always able to accommodate me at one of their locations literally within hours. They are very reasonably priced which is why I go often and have been going for years! I used to go to element massage which charges a lot more for an hour massage. Let's just say I will be coming to jade spa instead. When I arrived I checked in and waited for my masseuse. I booked with Anna since I had read a few good reviews about her! Here is a break-down of the events that followed: I was led to a dark, dimly lit room with a massage table and two couch-like chairs. I was ushered in by two women who waited for me to take off my shoes and socks and test the water they had collected for the foot soak. They stood patiently, and somewhat awkwardly waiting for me until I finally got my boots pulled off and made my way to the chair where I put my feet in the water they had brought it. The warmish water was in a clear, trash bag lined bucket which felt eerie against my feet as I sat there and let them soak. 5 minutes later Anna came in and dried my feet and removed the bucket of water. The next hour consisted of a borderline painful leg and foot massage. Anna was incredibly strong for her frame and she really rocked my calves and shin area. I almost had to ask her to ease up on the pressure because she was really digging into my leg. But I let her do her thing and I walked out of it just fine. The massage she applied to my feet was amazing. I could have sat there all day! My massage lasted the full hour and I left feeling a bit sore, but good! While I would have liked more of an upscale, less awkward atmosphere, this place was exactly as expected and is just fine for an inexpensive massage. The loud traffic from outside carried into my room and took place of the relaxing music they had playing. Although I have no complaints as it lived up to the expectations I had for this establishment, I probably wouldn't choose to come back here just due to personal preference. Other than that, Jade Day Spa is a fine place to go for a more affordable and less fancy massage.
