Was looking for Chinese to be delivered to our hotel but they would not deliver one hour before their closing time so we picked it up. We ordered the sweet and sour pork and sweet and sour chicken combo platter. The sweet and sour sauce is the weirdest thing I've ever tasted. It had cherries and pineapples in the sauce. I've never seen cherries in sweet and sour sauce. Neither of us ate that dish, it was way too sweet. The rice was a bland fried rice that was better than the main course but certainly NOT good either. Lastly, the egg roll was green inside, not sure what it was stuffed with. The strength of this place, in my humble opinion, comes from: 1) Judy, the affable owner; and 2) the lobster sauce; best I ever had. So why then not a 4 or 5? Well, it's because that seems to be about it, unless you are one of the regulars sitting around the bar for drinks, chatting with Judy and other customers, watching sports telecasts. In which case, that's a different category now, is it? I have come here repeatedly, getting take outs and also dining in. I would order new items off the menu to try something new, but none of the dishes really stood out for me, compared to other Chinese restaurants and their own menu. Jade Dragon is better than most, for sure, but short of outstanding. Let's focus on that lobster sauce! First of all, it is made with ground meat, the way it should be. Dark sauce but not too salty. Just really "can't-explain" delicious. I love shrimps but this sauce is so good, I have taken them up on the "lobster sauce only" order option. I only wish they would not default to bread with orders, and at least provide a more generous serving of white rice. The portion is so small; it is not in proportion to the size of any main dish. How expensive can white rice be? The owner, Judy, is great in customer service. Always accommodating and makes you feel special by remembering you. One of the reviews here stated the same. There is good Chinese food and there is bad Chinese food. This was really bad Chinese food! The fried wontons were just fried wonton wrappers no filling, totally tasteless. The lo mein with uncooked starchy noodles. Not soft and tasty like most restaurants. The beef wasn't sauteed it was boiled in a sloppy white sauce. The egg rolls were okay. But just but jest okay! The highlight of the meal were the boneless spare ribs. They were good crispy and tasty. The other highlight what's the packets of soy sauce and Duck Sauce. Those were standard fare. Best American style Chinese food in Warwick, possibly Rhode Island. Good portions, great prices, and the service of the staff and the owners is second to none. Want lo mein with your generals chicken combo? No problem! Judy is always very accomodating. Food is always freshly prepared, specifically the fried rice never tastes like it was cooked hours ago like other places in the area. One dish you may want to try is the "general chicken light." Think general chicken without all the batter and heaviness of the original dish (and saving some fat/calories because it isnt deep fried). Im not even sure if its on the menu, but if you ask Im sure they will be happy to make it for you! Pours on their drinks are generous. Only negatives I can think of are the decour, soups tend to taste oily at times, and they are closed on Mondays. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed! read more

Looking at the other reviews on this site, I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Our one experience with Jade Dragon (delivery): - Good things: the service was great. Friendly, quick, good experience on the phone. Driver was quick, found our place just fine, was friendly and polite. - Bad: the food. We ordered several different things - a beef dish, a spicy tofu dish, soup, vegetables, egg rolls. Everything was the same gray color. Everything tasted the same as each other. There was no differentiating the "spicy tofu" from the soup from the beef with something-or-other. It was gloopy, gray, and uniform. I'd also expected that some of the dishes would include white rice - but there was no rice in the order. I guess if you don't ask for it you don't get any. Truly - I'm not that picky an eater, but this is the first time ever that I didn't finish my meal and I threw away the leftovers. It was a major disappointment. I'm relatively new in the area, and have tried four Chinese places in Warwick so far. One is awesome (and my opinion of it just went up even more), another two are just-OK. But Jade Dragon is definitely not my cup of tea. read more

I have been here 2x for takeout since this coronavirus fun, typically go somewhere else in Lincoln even though I Live 7 minutes away... my first time here I got General Ma chicken combo l, I asked for all white meat...when I went to pick it up I noticed the 3 other people there all were greeted by name and the woman who I am guessing is the owner held friendly conversations checking in on each, when it got to me she somehow knew I was new. Asked me why talked about what is good, explained there food. Just Above and beyond service. The generals chicken wasn't my thing (it was like sweet and sour chicken finger balls with generals sauce, not battered chicken?)....I tried it again tonight based solely on the friendly service I received and my last conversation with Judy I think?... She recommended I try the Boneless Spare Ribs and Beef Teriyaki, that combo was much much better.. that is probably what I'll get now every time. Her exceptional service brought me back in and earned my business going forward! This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in New England. Everybody is so friendly, the food is delicious, and the drinks at the bar are tasty. My wife's favorite is the PomaMartini. Sweet and Sour Chicken is great, Fried rice has pork and tons of flavor, wonton soup is just right, and don't forget the dumplings! Absolute garbage! My first and last time. The hot and sour soup was neither but did have a distinct burnt smell like the dregs of the coffee pot left on the burner all day. The fried wontons were in fact fried wonton wrappers as a forensic inspection of several found no evidence of any sort of filling. And the "chicken" in the "General Chicken" must have died of old age if it was in fact chicken to begin with. All dark meat and very tough and fibrous. I suppose the name "General Chicken" rather than the more customary General Tsao's Chicken should have been a tip off. Not even two packages of the "spicy"(not so much) mustard put any noticeable flavor in this meal. Luckily, I had a jar of my own to at least make this semi palatable. In the end, my wife and I ended up throwing out more than half of our meals.
