This place is cute, has a nice and warm vibe, the servers are friendly and helpful. But the drinks are just decent at most. The server is very flexible in the sugar and ice level for some drinks so I really appreciate that. For the milk tea or latte, they taste like mostly milk and no tea flavor whatsoever, bland. Maybe I'm on the expert tea drinker now lol so I'm very picky on the drinks whether milk tea or fruit tea. The grass jelly is Vietnamese style hard, not the Taiwanese soft. My mango matcha does not have any mango taste. The lychee jasmine green tea has lychee flavor but no jasmine nor green tea flavor so it's like lychee with sugar water. Hokkaido milk tea is a good one that I ordered. In summary, place and server are nice, some drinks are just straight bland. They really need to step up their tea game if they want to be better or different than the 10 other boba places around town, where is the tea flavor sis ????? If I want milk I could have go home and get my gallon in the fridge lol read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! I go here almost everyday for my usual. The drinks are delicious! And made top tier every single time by each associate. My favorite to get is the Sip on the beach which is from their old menu (which you can still find online). Service is always great! Owner Christina is always so welcoming and definitely knows how to run an establishment. (I got to meet her sister/other owner Kelly once who is also great!) Because I go almost daily I come across her other associates like Sessy and Ana (forgive me if I didn't spell it right) which have great customer service and always make my drinks literally the best! The atmosphere itself is what drew me in the first place at the beginning of last year when I first moved here. It's a nice little spot in the corner that is not only inviting for "the young people" which I am not lol but for us older folks that just want a nice cool drink on a hot or even cold day. Came here with my sister and niece yesterday and it is a very cute place! Very cool atmosphere and vibes. Bathroom was clean I got a classic milk tea and it did not taste super good. Not bad, so I still drank it. I love boba milk tea. But this one had a bit of a powdery taste, like dry coffee creamer. They have a lot of drinks though so maybe the others are better! (Maybe the cloud foam is made from a powder so that's where the powder taste comes from) read more

I'm updating this review after moving nearby and giving it a go several times. I'm pleased to report there have been NO mistakes with my drinks since the peppermint mishap and everything I've tried has been delicious. I love the Cap N Munch and Fruit Loops, which truly taste like cereal milk. The boba is still hit or miss on the hardness to chewy scale but generally solid. I didn't see the owner's offer for a free drink until updating this but do think it speaks to the great service I always receive when I'm there. They have a tasty concoction for everyone and I've even been able to convert my girlfriend to these teas! Just a warning that during peak times it gets pretty busy and the wait can be substantial, although has always been worth it in my opinion. read more

Tacoma is so lucky to have such a great tea/boba cafe like Jade Lounge. I can't even count how many times I've been but I always make an excuse to stop by while running errands in the area. Sure the drinks take a little longer to make than some other places in town, but they're worth it every single time. They have so many great staples like milk teas and matchas and at first I was too nervous to go out of my comfort zone with their curated options. But one day I did and found my all-time favorite drink, the Hello Kitty! Then fall came around and I tried the Trix or Treat (which I became obsessed with). It's not on the menu any more now but it's not even a big deal because there's so many other great options to get. Tried out this place for the first time tonight. Initially, I thought I would definitely want to come back. I was in a group for a Meetup event (approximately 20 of us) from 7-9. Quite a few of us had never been here, but thought it was cute. There have also been past meetups here before I joined the group & they went great from what I've heard. I ordered a peppermint patty, which was wonderful, but still not a good enough reason to be willing to give even 2 stars. All of us were having a ton of fun playing board games. And all or most of us ordered drinks. Around 8pm, the music is turned up a little bit more. None of us thought much of it until about 15-20 minutes later. The one worker approached us to ask how long we plan on staying. Since we were all enjoying ourselves, one guy says that we would like to stay until closing if that would be alright. It's then when we are told that we have more like 10 minutes to pack up our things & leave. And this employee was not the most friendly about shooing us away. Safe to say that I have absolutely no intention of returning. We all were in agreement about that. In addition, I've also told my family & friends to avoid this place like the plague. You've lost a lot of business as a result of your unwelcoming atmosphere. read more

However, this is primarily in regard to their hojicha milk tea since my bf and I got the same thing. The taste of the tea itself was not very prominent, and it was more milk than tea. Most bubble tea places I have visited I have to ask for 50% sugar or less because they are so sweet, Jade's have been great without modification.
