As a follow-up to my one star review ... I appreciate that Karla has followed up with my daughter to try and make up for the issues we had. It also sounds like we didn't get a straight story from the artist who was very late arriving to our appointment. She was very skilled but she was slow and couldn't deliver the services we had paid for in the more limited time. It caused worry for my daughter during what was hoped to feel like a nice pre-wedding mother/daughter time. I know Karla has tried to remedy the situation to prevent further bridal day problems for others which I commend her for. read more

i didn't end up booking with them after my trial, but the people were great to work with and very responsive. if you're a bride i'd recommend being extremely specific about what you're looking for in addition to showing reference photos. if you're looking for a more natural look this might not be the best place, but if you're looking for full glam this could work great. my only feedback is that they should do a phone call consultation with every bride prior to doing a trial just to make sure everything is in order. they just asked me to email them details the day before, which i think made things get lost in translation. read more

Long over due ! First, I am a picky person when it comes to hair! I found Karla through Groupon and I could not be happier! She knows what she's doing. She matched my color perfectly and gave me a " no complain" hair cut! I got so many compliments on my hair. I love love love my side fringe !!! Booking appointment with her was a bit difficult. I booked Karla for my recent wedding on 9.21.12 and absolutely loved working with her! Her and her assistants did an amazing job and especially with such limited time. I mistakenly thought our contract was booked for 1:30 pm and it was for 12:00! My bridal party was running extremely late and had to be rushed through everything and even so they did a great job. WOW!! I felt like a walking billboard for J'adore with all the compliments I was getting after Karla finished cutting and coloring my hair! Definitely less painful than a plastic surgery and cheaper than therapy - but dang, I looked younger and HAPPIER. Who knew a fabulous stylist could do so much for a woman! P.S. It's a month after I initially had my cut and color and even though I am unable to recreate the exact look from when I walked out of the salon (I'm blow dryer-challenged), I still get compliments on my hair! I have had 3 1/2 hours to calm down, but I am still angry. I had an appt. at 3:00 with Karla and someone calls from a restricted number while I'm driving to my appointment I couldn't answer the phone, so I just let it go to voicemail. I then get to the salon and it's closed. So, I decide to check my voicemail and sure enough, the girl says that Karla is just now leaving a wedding (on a Thursday) and is running very late and would not make it to the salon for a long time, so could they reschedule. Are you kidding me!?!?! I took off work early, missing out on wages, drove all the way from Morgan Hill wasting gas. Who cancels 10 minutes before an appt? This was extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. I was really looking forward to getting my hair colored and cut, and this was so disappointing. She knew way before she had her assistant call that she couldn't make it in time for my appointment. She could and should have let me know much much earlier. I now know that clients with Groupons don't mean anything to her. I will be asking for - no, demanding - a refund, as I would never trust Karla or this salon again. Making an appointment with J'Adore has been a completely frustrating experience! I bought a Groupon for a cut and color middle of July and have been calling the salon since. They never ever answer their phone! I wonder why a business wouldn't take calls?? Their answering machine asks you to leave a message. Again no point! They don't return calls. Karla is a very gifted and talented artist. I had the pleasure of a cut and a color on two separate visits within a week or so apart. I've felt like an orphan for years not being able to find that one stylist who can do it all to my fine curly hair since moving to the South Bay. Karla gave me nothing short of a Cinderella experience on my first visit. It had taken me 8 months to grow out a horrible cheap deal hair cut on the fly, which left me feeling a bit vulnerable. Karla listened to my needs and pulled off the best cut I can recall having in this century! The architecture of my textured bob with a side bang was spot on, red carpet movie star quality (and I'm no stranger to high end salons). When she did the reveal, I think my eyes welled with joy. I looked 10 years younger (in a good way) and got so much attention wherever I went, I lost count after 13 compliments in just a couple of hours. Men I know who wouldn't look at me in that "hey you look hot" sort of way, complimented me with "wows" and flirtatious sweet nothings that boosted my day. People I didn't even know where touching my silky shiny hair as if it was bejeweled. I got so much attention and loved my cut so much that I booked another appt. with her right away to color my funky gray roots that had grown out longer than they should (which she somehow managed to magically cover the week before). My hair color rocked and lasted a long time. The best part, my hair is not all fried and the healthiest it's been in years and I spend $100's on high end products for my hair. Karla introduced me to a few lines of products she has that really help shape, straighten, control and condition my fine curly Italian hair (which doesn't take much to revert to a loose fro if I let it). Karla will make you feel and look like a Goddess when she is done. She has an amazing artistically eye and a beautiful soul. If you are looking for a jaw dropping Cinderella experience, Karla will not disappoint and her prices are reasonable, especially when you consider the high quality turn out you get in the end. read more
