Jaguar doesn't appear to check the condition of your car's battery. Extremely negligent or not? Standard practice?
    Joshua G.

My first review. And maybe only review. I don't have a whole lot of time for this kind of stuff. I brought my F-Type R to the service department for a cluster fix. The part was back ordered - not yet fixable. I got the car back Wednesday night. Thursday morning while driving it (the first time turning it on since I got it back), a catastrophic failure occurred. The steering wheel locked up and the acceleration pedal stopped working (neutral or park idunno), everything electrical ceased to work. It was like driving the car while off. This happened WHILE DRIVING. Thankfully I was not going fast and it was an empty road early in the morning. I like living btw, just like everyone else. Imagine if I had my pregnant wife with me in the car and this happened on a busy SF freeway. Imagine that. Seriously, contemplate it. We would be likely DEAD. I towed it back to the Jag dealership immediately. The Manager denied anything and everything. We exchanged in a very heated manner and I apologized for kicking up a storm. We both recovered our level heads and he managed to get it driving, but I wasn't going to take the risk of driving it home ("see, it's working" he says). I towed the car home to Santa Rosa just to be safe. To test my theory, I drove the car up and down my street slowly (so not in extreme harm's way) and sure enough, the catastrophic failure occurred again. Moral of the story? Marin. Jaguar. is. willing. to. let. you. drive. away. with. a. DEATH. CAR. not. once., but. TWICE. The first time possibly unknowingly, the second time KNOWINGLY. Lawsuit being filed of course. I'm having Marin fix it so I can give it to my nephew who doesn't care about such things or donate it. But I aint driving that thing for a million bucks even if they say they fixed it. I run a Billion dollar company. I can't afford to die. September 9th update After speaking with Vince, he has asked me to take down this Yelp review and my YouTube video showing the damages to my car, And he said explicitly if I do not take down this Yelp review or take down the YouTube video that he will pursue me legally. If I DO take this Yelp review down he will refund me a couple hundred dollars. It was difficult to have a conversation with him because we both wanted to interrupt each other And he hung up on me multiple times. Aparently has been researching me and started spouting off personal information. As a customer, this is very threatening behavior especially when it becomes personal. Will he come after my wife? Will he come to my home? I requested that he make my car back to the condition in which I brought it to Marin Jaguar on the 31st. He refused. Now not only do I have a manager from Marin personally threatening me but I also do not have a working vehicle. Does Vince know about California anti-SLAPP laws and the CRFA? I hope he learns quickly. Another update: late 9/9 evening Bret Feasel replied back to one of my emails. He seems competent and I'm happy to actually be able to explain things further. I'll give him a thumbs up so far.

After posting this review the manager called me and he was very polite and after explaining to him everything he sent me a full refund of the tires via ups. I was very impressed by how he handled the situation. Thank you Brent

The sales experience was a bit choppy, but I was able to get a hold of someone from the start. The car I purchased had been a dealer loaner and only had 15k miles on it, so I figured "what could possibly go wrong?" I asked if there were any damages to the vehicle and was told there was not. It took quite a while before the vehicle had been "reconditioned," but the photos I received seemed like everything was in order, so I purchased the car from Jaguar Marin and had it shipped to me in SoCal. That's where the trouble started. I did not notice at the time, but three of the panels had been removed to repaint a quarter panel, which was damaged in some kind of accident. This accident, whether it be a parking lot ding or a side impact, had been repaired but was not on Carfax. When the technicians removed the rocker moldings, they broke the retaining clips. Instead of using Jaguar parts (which, you'd think, a Jaguar dealer should have access to?), they glued the body panels back on. The body shop I used was the same that Jaguar uses in my city, so it's a Jaguar dealership saying this; not a Joe Blow mechanic. This wouldn't be a huge problem, except one of them was the molding for the moon roof. i.e.: water can leak in while this thing is popped up/bowed out. I brought this to the attention of Jaguar, and that it would take almost $2,000 to repair. I haven't heard anything in two weeks and they refuse to take calls or reply to emails. The only reply I got was that I "signed the bill of lading." i.e.: "not our problem!" Very disappointed that I have to take a luxury car dealership to court over fraudulent sales practices. I now have repairs on a "Certified" vehicle to make, which devalues the entire meaning of that term, in my eyes.

The person at the shop approached me and started criticizing the way I had driven into the area, telling me that I was driving fast "like a police officer." I told him that if he believed I had actually done something wrong, he was welcome to write me a ticket. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he then told me not to come back to his shop. I came here as a paying customer, on time for an appointment, expecting a simple wheel alignment. I did not expect to have my scheduled time disregarded, then be confronted and ultimately told not to return. Regardless of the quality of the mechanical work, this was an extremely unprofessional and disrespectful customer-service experience. I would not recommend this business based on the way I was treated. If the lift was inoperable, the professional thing to do would have been to notify customers with scheduled appointments before they drove to the shop. A simple call or text would have saved everyone time. Customers' time matters too -- time is money. I have attached screenshots because the business owner keeps changing his public responses and his version of what happened. In his first response, he apologized for the inconvenience caused by an inoperable vehicle lift. In his later response, he claimed that I did not have an appointment at all. His description of the driving incident has also changed and become increasingly serious with each response. I am not going to argue about these accusations. I am simply attaching screenshots of the owner's own responses so that anyone reading this review can see how his statements have changed and draw their own conclusions.

The next day, the shop informed me that they had damaged my vehicle in an accident involving a lift and would need to send it to a body shop for repairs. What should have been a routine service turned into several additional days without my car. The damage was ultimately repaired, but I received no loaner vehicle, no rental reimbursement, no discount, and no service recovery of any kind for the inconvenience caused by the shop's mistake. When I finally picked up the vehicle, I was presented with a bill that was more than $500 higher than the original quote. When we questioned the increase, we were told additional work had been performed. However, no one had contacted us for approval before completing the alleged work. After we pointed out that we had never authorized the additional charges, the extra amount was removed from the bill. Accidents happen. What disappointed me was the way the situation was handled afterward. Damaging a customer's vehicle is bad enough. Providing no compensation for the delay and then attempting to charge for unapproved work turned a mistake into a trust issue. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
