I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and specifically requested only the complimentary brake inspection that comes with the service. My service advisor, Martha Reyes, initially wrote it up as a brake diagnostic, but I immediately corrected her and clearly stated that I did not want a diagnostic only the complimentary brake inspection. Despite that conversation, I was charged $130 for a brake diagnostic that I never authorized. No one called or texted me to explain the additional work or obtain my approval before performing it. I left feeling overcharged and misled. Customers should never be billed for services they did not authorize, especially after clearly communicating what they wanted. I expected honesty, transparency, and better communication. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. read more

Everything was good at Nissan Hanlees until I sat down with the Finance Manager. Up until that point, the experience was smooth, but once I reached the finance stage, the energy completely shifted. The process felt rushed and uncomfortable, and I didn't feel like things were being explained clearly or honestly. It really changed my entire impression of the dealership. Because of this, I left feeling unsure and disappointed. DO NOT COME HERE! YOUR CAR IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE WORSE OFF AFTER SERVICE! I took my car for a transmission fluid change as normal maintenance which was $450. Right after the service, my car's transmission started juddering and slipping. I saw on the service notes they added transmission fluid conditioner and the owner's manual from Nissan strictly says DO NOT MIX transmission fluid with other fluids or your warranty will be voided. I was in shock that a certified Nissan dealership could make such a big mistake. I tried to call the service department, but no one picked up for days. I left several messages, nothing! A few days later I just showed up and explained the situation. MARTHA accused me of lying and said this must have been an issue from before the transmission change which it was not. She said the additive is a standard thing they add despite me pointing out the Nissan owner's manual saying strictly do not mix, and She said they do this all the time. She also mentioned many people come back to the service department with the same issue (I can see why because the service department is incompetent) and I needed to prove my transmission had no issues before the service. How is anyone supposed to prove that?! She said they can look into it but would charge me $260 extra for a diagnostic on top of the $450 I already paid which made my transmission worse off. I'm going else where! THIS PLACE WILL MESS YOUR CAR UP, TAKE NO ACCOUNTABILITY, AND BLAME YOU FOR IT, AND STEAL YOUR MONEY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I also don't want to hear Hanless hilltop's automated reply to this post apologizing for the experience or tell me to call them so they can make it right. They had their chance when I went in there to make it right but instead they chose to double down and rob me of $450. I'm reporting this to Nissan consumer affairs. read more

At the start of this week I made an appointment over the phone with a salesman to return my lease today, Friday, because it's due next week. When I arrived today, the manager told me they would not take my lease, because they didn't want to hold it on the lot while waiting for Nissan to pick it up. Understandably shocked, I asked why this would happen after making an appointment and taking time off work -- which I had to do because they only accept lease returns Monday-Friday. The manager had such an air of ignorance and disrespect. I remained calm, though admittedly upset. He told me I was going in circles and making this complicated, and finally said, "What do you want from me?" To which I said, "Nothing." What I really wanted was for him to acknowledge that the problem came from his team's process, that this situation put me in a difficult position trying to scramble to return my lease elsewhere on time -- instead of acting like I did something wrong by showing up for my appointment. Though I did not purchase my lease at this dealership, I've been a loyal service customer for the past three years, spending thousands of my dollars at that location. Beware: this is how Hanlees Nissan repays customer loyalty. Unfortunately, it's a perfect example of the poor service I've experienced almost every time I've interacted with them over the past three years, and the reason I will no longer be a paying customer. Come here if you want your INFORMATION SOLD and get tossed around like a rag doll. Of course sales people are suppose to make you feel respected and comfortable as you are making one of the biggest financial decisions of your life as they get a commission. Once the deal is done they turn the other way and AVOID YOU. I have been tossed around back and forth between the dealerships in auto plaza because apparently they say that the same staff work at the dealerships near by. Imagine asking to speak to someone and they tell you they are the other dealership. You make your way over there and they tell you they went back to the one you just came from. They make it impossible to find someone you can directly speak to and they are proud of it. They also sold my information. I have never had anything published about myself online until I made a transaction with them and my whole address and birthday got leaked with my full name and number. I got spam calls every day after I bought my vehicle there and mail once a week all asking about the car. It is frustrating to think that the dealership would sell your information for a quick buck. These people keep sending junk mail to our house. It is an absolute pain to try and get it stopped. We had this issue back in 2020, I spoke to a "Jose" at this place who literally couldn't care less, said he was taking us off his list and did not. I had to get upper management involved, which is literally the only way to get Nissan to stop harassing you - which I'm about to do again. And let's be clear about Hilltop Nissan - a few years back my wife left her car here for a an oil changed. Picked it up later in the day - there was 71 miles added to her car and a bunch of soccer equipment in the back. Someone at this place took her car to their kid's soccer practice in Fremont or somewhere like that. When we spoke to a manager, he couldn't care less. He said he'd talk to the guy and that was that. I'm pretty sure he didn't say anything otehr than have a laugh with the guy about stealing someone's car to go to soccer practice. Is this a company you want to trust with one of your most valuable possessions? They won't take our address off their mailing list. It takes 20 seconds and they refuse - like if they keep harassing us we'll break down and come back to the place that stole our car and took it to soccer practice. Any legit company, when asked to have your info removed from their database, does not want to waste paper and postage on someone who will never use them. Not these people. That should tell you a lot about the quality of this place. Keep that in mind when you take your car here folks. This place is the worst of the worst in every sense. read more

The worst dealership ever!! Costumer service is by the worst. I purchased a car that later had engine, electrical and engine issues. Every time i took car in, manager was never available. No one is willing to help unless you're purchasing a new car which i dont recommend. Servixe manager is at another dealership and staff is just plain rude and unprofessional. I mistakenly bought a car from this dealership. First of all, before I left, they offered to get me gas. But as i drove off the lot, i noticed that they put less than half a tank in my car. The washer fluid light went off before I even stopped at the first light. I refilled the washer fluid the next day and in less than 48 hours the washer light went on again. I knew the washer bottle must either be cracked or have a hole in it. Six months later, I thought it must be Christmas because all of the lights in the dash started going off at once. I thought maybe the dealership would cover the repairs. Nope. $1200 for maintenance and to replace the washer bottle that was cracked when I bought the car! This place is a complete rip off. And that's not to mention the fact that the car i was told was $19K somehow turned into $41K after taxes and other charges. I would have picked out a much nicer car if i knew i was spending that much! Buyer beware. Find another dealer please. read more

They told me 1500 down but 500 right then and there. So I gave them the $500 and made arrangement for the other thousand for two weeks Later. I was informed that the car had not been detailed and that I would need to bring it back the next day Which was fine They took care of it no problem but the following day the car wouldn't start So they had to come and tow it and they couldn't find a problem Light Was on and they informed me that if I drove it around, it would go off That was not the case. I kept bringing the car back to try to get it fixed. They told me that they. Couldn't find their machine to shut it off, but they didn't look at Whether the sensors were faulty or not. I had to bring the car multiple times I was getting the runaround from the service department I had to take off work to come back-and-forth up there. Also the seat kept moving as I drove. I informed them of that issue. I was told that I would need to pay a deductible for them to even look at it. I hadn't had the car for a week. So since I kept returning to the dealership, I didn't have The thousand dollars to give them as planned, but I had received a letter in the mail saying that they couldn't make a deal with me, but I had the So I was a little confused. I received a call from their lender and I informed them that I didn't have the vehicle that day because they were looking at it. This was supposedly a customer interview, which I didn't know was being done I have never heard of buying a car and having a customer interview. I told them I was happy with my purchase, but I needed To take it back and didn't have possession at that moment because they were Fixing the issue. Fast-forward, I informed one, the finance person that I would not be able to make the thousand dollar I needed a little more time because I had to keep coming back-and-forth up there to address the problems with The vehicle, He told me no problem will work something out that it was all good. The finance company kept calling me. He said he was taking care of it. He told me not to even answer the phone.. So I didn't . Then I was told to bring the car back up there so they can fix the issues They informed me that they would give me a rental free of charge For a couple of days. The person at the cash counter, Anna she is great. I have nothing bad to say about her She really tried to help out. I was informed by Johnny someone else in finance that I needed To return the rental, he told me basically that he wouldn't have given me A loan in my credit is bad and it's not his fault. I don't pay my bills.. Which left a bad taste in my mouth however they had a couple vehicles that they can put me in that they did not want to keep me in the Altima because it was going to cost too much to fix . I come see him the next day and return the rental. He was much nicer in person He kept going over to Hyundai and dealing with customers there left me in the lobby for almost 2 hours He told me someone was going to show me the other vehicles no one ever came to show me anything The manager didn't know what was going on. He finally came to talk to me That they were taking the car back and they had nothing for me and that I failed the bank interview twice which I didn't know I was being tested, and I only spoke to the bank once. So they decided to refund my $500 which I had to wait a few days to receive & left with no vehicle time wasted and fills extremely hurt. I literally left in tears, and as I was getting my belongings out of the Altima The sales manager basically dismissed me and was trying to sell my boyfriend a car. Hilltop Nissan for some reason could not come to a deal with me. We were about $700 apart from making it happen. Car was listed for 25,699 and they would not come down $700? Also windshield on this model 3 was cracked, a $1000-1700 replacement depending if you go to safelite or Tesla for the fix. But the GM said they are just going to fill the crack in...a shoddy repair job it seems for a car they want $26k for? Thing is i was willing to pay for it myself if they came down $700... It doesn't make any sense but oh well they didn't want to move the car or sell it to me for some reason. This 2018 model 3 will be worth less than $17k in a year's time when the Tesla battery warranty expires. Heck may be less than 20k come 2025. It can cost upwards of $16k to replace the battery in these cars if they become faulty, that's why 2018 models are priced a lot lower because there is only one year left on the warranty as it is almost 2025! That's why they are being dumped and traded in. General manager explained everything well on why they couldn't come down in price but his excuses did not seem reasonable. I Understand it's a business and perhaps margins are slim but they should have made the sale here. It was a good car but can be found under 25k. I've seen 30k miles 2020 models go for $25k so not sure why they couldn't come down here. But the biggest issue was they don't know how to treat people here. Not one woman salesman either. They could really use one. I did have a good test drive with Roberto, he has been there for 15 years and I see why. The rest are just not very good I'm sorry to say, which is why I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business. The showroom is very clean, nice, and well presented so added a star for that. Dealing with Dawn Hamille, the office manager was great despite the outcome. She knows how to treat customers, it's just too bad she isn't in charge of operations. I know people that pay for new cars in cash I'll be sure to tell them to stay clear of the Hanlees dealerships. read more

Update: About a year ago I tried to schedule an appointment but needed to talk to a service advisor to understand what I needed. I literally called about 10 times over the course of a few weeks and each time was transferred to service...where no one ever picked up. I let it ring 10, 20 minutes and no answer. Front desk said they must be busy each time when I called back. I gave up and scheduled at a dealer much further away. Recently I needed service again and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try again. Same thing. They also couldn't even answer if they had a mechanic certified for my car. It feels like it has been on the verge of closing for years, maybe a symptom of Nissan's overall struggles, not sure. In any event, good luck getting an appointment. read more

Unfortunately this is the nearest Nissan dealer / shop in the area. I took my Nissan to their shop for a minor service. Initially they appeared helpful. Next day I went back: misrepresentation as to what I was told the day before. I do not want to detail the matter because I may have to go back (as no one else is nearby and there are supply chain shortages affecting quality parts / service). Maybe I'll have to buy the parts and take them elsewhere (and who knows what problems / delays that may bring). As I was leaving, I observed another act of vengeful (or at least passive-aggressive) communication (so I know its not personal to me). A lot of time could have been avoided with simple signage communicating what they do and don't do or service at their shop. More efficient shops use signs, words, disclaimers ONLINE and AT THE LINE FOR SERVICE. That helps people avoid wasting time visiting or waiting in line. Such concepts are beyond the mental capacity or "service" of this outfit. They sell some good models but even if one is purchased, have it serviced elsewhere. Carlos Ghosn was right - get out of dealing with these people as soon as you can! Hopefully over time the reviews will change, but remember, every review requires at least a minimum of 1 star to be posted. read more

My spanish speaking father bought a Nissan Altima from here last year for my mom. They also purchased the service package. They have recently been calling him relentlessly. He does not speak english and would request a spanish speaker. They would then hang up on him, but keep calling back. He went in person and spoke to a salesperson who then called him a "fkng salvadorian" and they kicked him off the premises and threatened to call the police on him because he was frustrated that they kept calling him with no one to speak spanish. They had no problem with him while he was spending money there, but now that hes just trying to find out what it is THEY are calling for, the language barrier is a problem. However, I have worked closely with a sales person named Arnold Torres. He has been a jewel, he's tried and continues to try to help me put my issues to rest. He's been diligent, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I'm grateful to work with him. Arnold was ill on one of the occasions I was to work with him. His associate stepped in, appearing yesterday seamlessly to help out. Again, he was courteous, kind, he listened and did his best to help me attain my needs. Both these guys were great! This is by far the worst dealership experience I've ever had. I arrived at this dealership already devastated after going through 10+ dealerships and being lied to, spending 4 hours at each only to get nothing. When I got here, I was EXTREMELY clear on my needs, I made it very clear that unless they got me the car I needed I wasn't gonna make the trip. They ensured me they had exactly what I needed, made me go through the 5 hours for waiting, lack of clarity, nonsense, paperwork and when I was signing they were finally honest they weren't sure the car was exactly what I needed. They were honest only because I pushed. I left with no resolution and they said thy'd call today to confirm. They never called so I did. Turns out it was a lie all the way through, they didn't have the exact car I needed. They made me drive, they made me sign, I almost drive there again to pick it up today and the car never existed. I'm so disappointed with dealerships, they make your life impossible. But this one is by far the worst I've ever experienced because I asked them very kindly and directly to not make me waste my time and they still did and lied to my face. DO NOT EVER LET THEM LIE TO YOUR FACE AND WASTE SO MANY HOURS OF YOUR DAYS. Their sales techniques are to lie and lie and lie and get you to leave with a car you didn't want in the first place. September 14, 2023 I left my Nissan SUV at Hanlees Hilltop for services with Ortiz , Viviana. I had called a week ahead of time & schedule appointment I happen to call there was no appointment made for me so I had to make appointment that day September 14 at 9:45. Customer Service skills trash . This service department lies all the time they don't want to work but get paid to sit on their ass. I am a customer I have a warranty on my car, so what is the problem? They have not called me to even get the problem fixed. I've been like two weeks .No body has called me to try to get this matter fixed like I said they lie about everything they don't do their job . They even lied to me when I had a nail in my tire . Hanlees Hilltop Nissan said don't they don't fix tires & told me to go somewhere else I swear lying to me because I am a woman. What do you fix at the dealership? What? What what I don't see them doing any kind of work I don't see any kind of progress. I just see wasting my time. My car was there for two days and when I told her I was coming to get my car all of a sudden she had somebody look at my car and they say my car has gas. The roof of the top of the car got spray-painted it so they couldn't fix it. My warranty can't fix it and I have a warranty. This is bullshit. I got a second opinion from SCR Collision & estimates said it's not spray paint. I really don't think my car was look at by any one . When I called Friday 09/15/23 at 12:00pm nobody had looked at my car i'm being told by the receptionist at hilltop then I get a call at 12:55pm I can pick my car up the warranty won't cover it. read more

I really wish I had nicer things to say about the service department. I've purchased 3 vehicles from Nissan and they are good vehicles. The sales department is good and I have no complaints. However, we have a warranty with one of our cars and haven't had a good experience. I had a warranty issue and called them numerous times and left multiple messages. After 2 weeks I was finally able to get someone on the phone. They never returned calls. We take a car in for a couple of problems and they were able to diagnose and suggest repairs. Great. They replaced a tire and would call us when the other part was in stock and they would replace it. They never called. We had to call them and were told "we've been trying to reach you" which is BS. They never called. We make an appointment to get our car fixed. They call us and say they have the wrong part and would need the car another day. It wasn't until we said we needed the car for commuting to work that they offered to get a car rental for us. Next day rolls around and we hear nothing. I call and finally reach someone and am told that they have the right part, but it's damaged and they need the car another day. Ugh. Fine. They said we can continue with the rental (so generous). My wife speaks with them and is told I can pick up the car and that she can drop the car off with sales when she's off work since she isn't able to deliver during their operating hours. Day 3 rolls around and I go to pick up the car. They didn't want to release the car to me without the rental even though we were told that's what to do. The guy I'm talking to sounded condescending when saying "well, I didn't say that" - somebody did. Don't care who, but you should know who says what or have a uniformed policy throughout. After arguing with them I was able to get the car and told to return it tomorrow (day 4) so another day and time coordinating rides and taking time to go there. The guy made a snide comment about if the rental doesn't return tomorrow we will be charged (no $hit Sherlock). They suck. Needless to say it was a very poor experience. I like their product and sales teams and will continue to buy. However, I will never purchase another warranty or take my car for service at this dealership. They suck. I don't appreciate the condescending tone. I don't appreciate the attitude. I don't appreciate having to be the one to follow up. I don't appreciate a one day job taking nearly a week with multiple visits. They suck. read more
