We had been searching for our next vehicle. We had visited multiple dealerships, even almost buying a preowned 2500 that was only a partial fit. I received a recall notice from the manufacturer recently and made an appointment with the service department to fix the issue. Spent over an hour waiting and was told I was "all set". Got home and read the invoice only to find out the work wasn't done because the parts weren't in stock. Called the service department to complain and was put on hold to die. At least they washed my vehicle and checked the tire pressure smh but over an hour wait and to be lied to about a job that was never done is inexcusable. read more

Really disappointing service experience. I set an appointment a month in advance for a recall repair, I asked them if they can handle a couple extra things, which were small. It took them two days to do the recall repair, which they said would be done in a few hours. By day three, I was super frustrated. It took them four days, and they didn't get everything that I had asked them to do done, and they didn't give me any update on what had been done. Finally, on day four, they got the diagnosis done. They should have gotten the diagnosis at least done on day one and then ordered the parts. I got the car back after four days, with nothing but a recall repair done, the diagnosis, and a promise that they would call me in ten days when the parts came in. They need to get their act together in the service department. read more

Gus Barakat, my service manager, is incredibly attentive and takes great care of his customers. Unfortunately, the mice have once again gnawed on the wires in my Dodge Charger. To prevent further damage, we'll wrap the car's wires with Honda tape and rodent-resistant braided split wire and then repair the existing damage. Gus is always available to schedule appointments, and he's patient, explains things clearly, and always strives to provide the best possible price. While there are other dealerships closer to my Marin location, the service at Hilltop is superior to what I've experienced elsewhere. The environment is clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a positive and pleasant car service experience, don't hesitate to call Gus. They even wash your car! I'm adding to this post as I have another example of excellent customer service by Gus. My appointment was scheduled for today to have my rodent-repellent tape plus the rodent-resistant braided split wire and a new drive shaft installed. Then I called Walnut Creek dodge and the told me the same thing and recommended I call Hilltop. The service manager was great . She said she could order the parts but that they were on back order. I have contacted this outfit two times about a recall notice for my Chrysler Pacifica Curtain Airbags. Each time (over 2 months) they said they did not have the parts and would not get them for at least 6 months. The problem is that I cannot renew the license tags without this safety recall being taken care of. I contacted another dealer in Concord and no problem, they have they parts. I suspect Hilltop Chrysler does not want to deal with recalls. They were quite unfriendly on that phone. read more

Come to Hilltop CJDR if you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time. This is the best circus show in town! I came here to purchase a vehicle, and after a test drive I decided to talk numbers. Unfortunately we could not agree on a price. No problem...but as I walked away I was asked what price I would pay. I gave the sales manager my price and was told I'd be contacted if they could make it happen. After I left I got a call saying we have an agreement at my price and to come back the next day to wrap it all up. Awesome! I returned the following day with the fam and all my documents ready to go, and the sales manager sat me down inside. That's when a clown named Adam who I've never met before comes in with a dog a pony show pitching the vehicle history, maintenance, random numbers, etc. After rambling on, he finally shows me the price which was higher than what I was invited back for. I let Adam the clown know the price discrepancy and he acted surprised. He then tells me a story that my original sales manager has a medical issue and is deaf in one ear, so there was probably an internal miscommunication. I told the clown I didn't come all way back to the dealership to play games. He then told me I was stealing from them. That's when I immediately left (again). I wasn't about to give this place a minute more of my time. I'm sorry, but I went there to purchase a vehicle for a price they offered, then I was called a thief because their sales guy is allegedly deaf. What a comedy show this was! My family and I gave this place 1/2 a day of our time that we will never get back. Please avoid going here at all costs, unless you're desperate to meet a clown. read more

Well, my experience with the service team isn't great. The guy answering the phone to schedule service appointment is not the most pleasant. More importantly, since they do not want to give you a loaner car for a required recall, they tell you it's going to be 3 hours instead of what it really takes - 4-6 hours or up to a full day per a bit of research on the internet. Trying to get a quote for a windshield replacement. My insurance requires proof of cost and I was trying to go to this dealership to get the work done. Spoke with the first service advisor who transferred me to parts. Then parts transferred me back to service. The second service advisor I spoke with, seemed bothered that I was asking for a quote to bring my vehicle in for the windshield replacement. He kept saying "we don't install windshields here, we call an outside installer" I understand that. I am still willing to drop my vehicle off so they can co-ordinate the windshield replacement and installation. A service I'm willing to PAY for! Isn't that the reason the whole service department exists? So customers can PAY for a SERVICE that they want?!? read more

My car started to overheat, so I took it to a radiator shop. They checked it out, did a pressure test, and told me the radiator was fine, but there was a leak in the chiller, where the water in the radiator exchanges heat with the oil in the engine. Fortunately it was under warranty, so I had it towed to Hilltop for service. They were able to fix the chiller, but told me my radiator was totally shot, leaking, couldn't be fixed and needed replacement, but it couldn't be done under the warranty because it was due to "impact damage", so I'd have to pay them over $1000 to fix it. I was surprised to hear that, and told them that I'd never been in a wreck and couldn't figure out when this damage could have occurred. It also seemed odd that the radiator shop hadn't found any of this. But fortunately there was a repair shop (Midway Muffler and Brake) downhill from Hilltop I figured I could get to before my car overheated too badly, so I took it there. They found some hoses that were due for replacement, but said the radiator was fine, and there was no impact damage they could see. I authorized them to replace the hoses and took the car on a road trip the next day. After 300 miles of driving, the car didn't overheat and there was no leakage from the cooling system. Be sure to take your car to Hilltop if you want fake problems fixed for a premium price. read more

I am leaving this review with fear of retaliation as my vehicle is still in the service department where it has been for over a month. Now I understand parts delay and incorrect shipments as I myself also work in the automotive industry. What I don't understand is the lack of communication from the service advisor Gus. Every time I want an update it has to be me that calls him. He has not once called me to give me an update. I always call him. He says it's because he doesn't like to call and bother when he has no information but that's exactly why he should call. The last time I called was on October 13th and was told by Gus that the new eta of the part of the 20th. I am writing this on the 26th after giving him a week to call me with an update. I am assuming the part has again not arrived and when I call in to get an update, it will have a new eta. Which again, is okay, but CALL ME AND TELL ME THAT!! Don't wait for me to call in. read more

For almost 5 months my vehicle was not being repaired or even serviced a bit. I would call often and they finally say they repaired the dashboard.
