Every time I have hired Jake from Jake's Cafe to cater an event there has been rave reviews. My most recent event was my 50th birthday party. I had asked for a taco bar and Jake did not disappoint. I heard compliments all night about the guacamole and carne asada. People kept going back for seconds and thirds. He brought take home boxes and the boxes were gone by the end of the night. If you ever need a caterer who will not disappoint, I would consider Jake's Cafe. You should also just grab breakfast or lunch from there during the week. read more

I was searching for a deli near home and I think this place is a great option! Got the turkey melt and husband got the Philly cheese steak. Potato salad and fries on the side. I don't know why but the fries were like the best I've had in a while - so crispy and perfect. I inhaled them. Potato salad was weirdly addictive. Kept eating this savory cup of goodness. This was the closest cafe to my work place and it was a reliable option. I often ordered a tuna melt here with a side of fries or got a half tuna sando (7.50) with a cup of soup for a lunch that's under $12. They also have a pretty decent breakfast burrito. Beverage options are bottled/canned in a fridge by the register. This plaza can be hard to get to fr Isabella but the U-turn to get there is not bad. read more

I'd also came to know about this place on FB and in years past, folks would rave about the food here and their Thanksgiving dinners. We decided to order for Thanksgiving this year and I remembered Jakes. I came across the order form on their IG. I placed a phone order a couple weeks in advance. The girl on the phone, Jazmine was friendly and easy to work with. I called the next day to modify my order and she was helpful. I ordered the half meal that feeds 4-6 people. We were going to be 5 people so I figured Jake's knows their portion sizes, they've done this before so this 4-6 will be enough. Sadly it was not enough and fed more like 2-3 people. The salad was about the only thing there was leftovers of. The mac n cheese, veggies, and turkey portions were very very small. Everyone was a bit conservative on serving themselves, including myself bc I wanted to make sure everyone got some. I didn't eat how I'd normally eat so my scoops were small. It was embarrassing to NOT be able to tell our guests, "get seconds" because there wasn't much to get. My sister, husband and I agreed that this 4-6 would comfortably feed 2-3. The heat up instructions were vague. Just the same temperature for all items but no time limit for any of the items. So we guessed. The mashed potatoes were a bit chunky so not completely mashed. But they also tasted a bit dry and piece-y. Not very creamy at all. The turkey was a bit dry. The meal came with 1 pie. I ordered a 2nd. Those were pretty good. Same for the rolls. The mac n cheese though was very good. I just wish there was more so everyone could've had a second serving. I'm quite disappointed in the advertising for this Thanksgiving meal. I called them for a catering order. The person answering the phone was distracted and asked if he could return my call later as he was covering for employees while they were on break. He never called back. I called the next day and the never answered their phone. I left a voicemail. No callback. Ever have one those days where you had breakfast, you packed a lunch but you're still just craving something else? Today was one of those days, a friend of mine was placing an order here and the menu was way too enticing not to try. There is so much variety on Jake's menu you are bound to find something that pleases everyone's taste buds. For me, the vegetarian options called my name and I just had to see what was in store with the chilaquiles. They did not disappoint! ingredients were fresh and the salsas even seemed homemade. based on the quality, I would say their prices are very reasonable. My dish was a great portion size and for only $10 you really can't go wrong. Since this was a to go order I was expecting to have to reheat the dish but it was still warm when it arrived. This is my second visit in a long time. The potatoe salad is still very good (4 stars) I ordered the French Dip (3 stars), the bread was good, soft, fresh but the meat was not that great. They Flat Iron grilled the meat so it not as soft as if it was sliced rare roast beef. It's dried and tougher. Also they add cheese, usually French Dip doesn't come with cheese, unless they say. Stopped on a whim because I drive by on my way home all the time. Was craving a breakfast burrito and looked at reviews and was convinced to stop. Easy and convenient. Friendly staff. Menu easy to read. Got the breakfast burrito with sausage and a side of bacon, three pieces. Came in just over $16 The burrito was cooked up hot. Was excited to dig in. It was definitely on the smaller side for the price point of $11.00. It was very potato forward and little egg and little cheese. Tortilla was fresh. It was lacking on the sausage, and couldn't really pick up on it with all the potatoes. Not much flavor but maybe because I wasn't able to put the salsa on it. The bacon was three small pieces and over cooked. I think the reviews are a bit deceiving. It was not horrible by any means but it was lacking in flavor, way too much potatoes. I think maybe if I added veggies and added salsa it would have been better. I did sample the salsa after and it's good. I think for $11 it could have been bigger with more sausage, egg and cheese. Don't go in with high expectations and you'll be fine. I can say I finished it but it was because of how much I spent. Go in with a game plan. read more

Great spot near my fiancé's work. He loves getting lunch from here so I decided to pick up food for us and meet him on his lunch break. I was in around 11:45am today (Wednesday) and was able to order right away. I ordered the salad special (strawberry and chicken salad) and a pastrami sandwich with fries. Everything was made to order and was ready super quickly. You can order a half or full order of salad. I ordered the full order but half for one person would be plenty. The salad was mixed greens with chicken, strawberries, almonds, red onion, and cheese with a light vinaigrette dressing. The fries were hot out of the fryer and nicely-salted. The pastrami sandwich had pastrami, Swiss, and a brown deli mustard on a soft french roll. It was a very simple sandwich that was very tasty. The pastrami was very well-seasoned. The staff is very friendly. As I was waiting for my order, they seem to have a lot of regulars who they recognize as they come in. There is no seating indoors right now because of COVID restrictions. Stopped here quickly on the road from Discovery Bay to Santa Cruz to grab breakfast. We weren't expecting much, but we were extremely impressed. I used Jake's Café for a reception in Aug 2022 for approx. 80 people, and the food turned out wonderful. There was a nice variety of sandwiches, which were filled generously with meat, cut in half and wrapped individually, and three various salads. I received a number of compliments on how good the food was. And for the number of people I ordered for, the portions were very generous so there was more than enough for everyone, with extra to send home with folks! The pricing was very competitive, in fact it was the lowest I found still remain high quality, which was another huge plus. Jake grew up here in Livermore, and he takes pride in his local café's reputation, and it reflects in what he does! I look forward to working with Jake again on another event. We were attending a party at Boomers and I couldn't find it in me to eat their food. Luckily my wife encouraged me to find something close that would be more entertaining for our palates. I stumble on Jake's Cafe through Yelp and they had great reviews and is a local business, so I decided to give them a try. Jake's is located in a shopping center brimming with lots of business but still has plenty of parking. The restaurant staff was great, personable, and helpful with our order. The restaurant was super clean, there were lots of tables for seating inside and outside. I ordered the Turkey Club Melt, and Cobb Salad to go. The Turkey Club Melt had turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, fresh ripe avocado, with an herb aioli, on country style sourdough. The photos don't do this sandwich justice, it was hearty, with super fresh ingredients, lots of avocado and cheese was melted. The herb aioli paired well with everything going on in this sandwich that was definitely a palate pleaser. We got a 1/2 size Cobb and subbed the vinaigrette for their house made ranch. The Cobb came with fresh mixed greens, grilled chicken, tomatoes, fresh corn, blue cheese, avocado and bacon. It didn't look huge in the box but the salad was super fresh, dense and generous. The ranch was delicious and not super heavy and rich. We actually spilt the salad and sandwich which was plenty for two adults. My only disappointment, evidently their pasta and potato salad sides are so popular, that they frequently run out. Even though it was my first visit, it definitely won't be our last to Jake's. We are looking forward to our next visit and will plan to go earlier to try the pasta and potato salads. read more

My Work Colleges and I have been going to Jakes ever since we tried it for lunch about a month ago. I work as a Contractor for Tesla and whenever we got to Livermore for work, we stop by Jakes. Which sometimes is 5 times out of the week. Awesome Fresh Food. Amazing and attentive employees. I really appreciate Jake's Cafe! Great Prices as well! The Chef even told me when we were leaving that he Burnt my Salmon and prepared a new one for me and that's why my food took long.
