I have been eating here for over five years. It's crazy when you go someplace and want to tell them to raise their prices because they are so low, and you desperately want them to stay in business. The food is always delicious. My personal favorites are the chorizo huevos-rancheros and the Angelica's burrito (al pastor). Their salsas are the best part of there wonderful menu. Sitting is limited, but turn over is fast. The best part of the experience is the wonderful hard working people who are so eager to please. read more

My wife and I have been looking for a place that had some good Mexican food and I think we found it. We pass by it all the time and the curb side appeal is not that great but don't let that fool you like it did us. Place is clean and they are very nice! We both got carne asada burritos and the only thing I would do differently is to get double the meat. Someone before me ordered the tortas and I watched her put those together. I cannot day enough! Everything is fresh and made to order. We had hot, just made tostadas with all three salsas that were super tasty. Tried the carne asada, pastor, and carnitas. All meats were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. Their variety of bottled soda is extensive. Super happy to see Strawberry Fanta and Topo Chico! The service was great! Super kind lady took our order and cooked it too! I'd like to add that I was happy that during my first visit here, two patrons walked in and were greeted like they are regulars. I love this little dive. My fave are the spicy shredded pork tacos on flour tortillas. Delicious, delicious minimalism. They also have a righteous Hibiscus Tea. (If you don't know, Hibiscus flowers are the kind they draw on Hawaiian shirts.) It's always hot in there, so get ready to sweat a little if you dine-in, but it just makes the Hibiscus Tea and Mexican sodas taste even better. My philosophy is that the food from little places like this is better experienced in the context of the restaurant. I need to feel the tight quarters and see the garish red and green walls to process the context in which the food was created. read more

Nothing like stepping into a restaurant and feeling at home! I was raised in a heavy populated Hispanic area and Jalapeños Taqueria felt like I was in the out neighborhood. My family and I were very pleased with our food. All three kids ate bean & cheese burritos, which comes with rice & beans on the child menu. Their plates were cleared. The hubby and I had a torta it was very good. We will definitely be returning. Hubby wants to return tomorrow for breakfast. read more

Would love to be able to review the food but it's kind of hard to do when you can't get served. I called to place a to go order. First someone picked up and immediately hung up, called back and started my order for a kids quesadilla, "no more quesadilla," he says, then I asked for a burrito and continued my order, guy hung up on me again. This is bland, lacking spice and soggy food that really cannot be called Mexican. It is more like Mexican wannabe. I tried it a couple of times and they are consistently bad. I am not sure how they had enough clientele to open a second location. Tacos were mediocre to say the least, we hadn't been to Texas in a very long time and were eager to find a good breakfast taco/ burrito spot. One big thing my family and I love is Barbacoa tacos which is traditionally the beef cheeks, tongue and other head meat. What we ended up getting was some old brisket. My dad was having trouble with their coffee machine and when he asked for help some grumpy old man came out and fixed it while mumbling stuff under his breath and giving us very rude looks. It is very misleading for a restaurant, that doesn't have jalapeños to have jalapeño in their name. Also, another downside... Now, in my experience of tacos, I have to say that most authentic taquerias have avocado...this one did NOT! Major downfall for this frequent taco eater. Anyway, last but not least, after being told they did not have jalapenos, I asked if they had put salsa in the bag. They nodded and I went about my way to enjoy, what I thought was going to be decent tacos... Nope! Tortillas weren't that great, neither was the meat & to top it off, there was no salsa in the bag. Tacos are decent, but why are they soooo stingy with the tiny salsa cups/lids??? I ordered about 20 breakfast tacos to go and I was given 5 tiny salsa cups and asking for more you would think I was asking for gold! She finally reluctantly gave me 3 more. Wow. 8. Really small hole in the wall right in Old Keller. This is authentic Mexican food with great street tacos. I'm especially excited about their home made horchata, YES! Home made horchata, not powdered. You even get some of the rice it was made with at the bottom of your cup. You just can't beat that authenticity! read more

Called one night at 630 to place a pick up order and was hung up on the first time, thinking it was a mistake I called back again and asked to place a pick up order, after a short pause the girl On the phone responds with "ugh we are about to close", they did not close til 7 according to them but their online info says 8, either way we would have been there to pick up the order within 5-10 minutes well before they closed, so after basically being turned away from placing an order with them while they were very much open we will never try and order from them again. read more

My go to place for tortas (the Texana). While heavily pregnant, the tortas was an obsesh of mine for a solid two weeks..double meats? Yes, please. You get your own salsa (different types) and help yourself to drinks.
