I had recommended this place to my friends and the restaurant made me look bad. This used to be a good spot to go get Jamaican food but this place is TRASH now!!! TRASH I SAY!!!! The two waitresses gave us terrible customer service. One of them was new, and we understand that new people can mess up a lot but she was just not professional at all. The new waitresses and the trainer was talking to a guy that worked at another food spot instead of taking care of us, so we had to either call them or stand up to get their attention. On top of that, the new server was taking our order but she was not writing things down, she kept getting everything wrong and never gave me some items that I had ordered. Kept telling us there wasn't enough Oxtails but then kept switching it that we have enough Oxtails, then switched it back. Just save your money and don't eat here. Food was pretty good. The lady behind the counter isn't the nicest though. I could tell she was frustrated my partner and I were a little drunk. Don't like being around drunk people? I ordered the Jerk Chicken, rice and peas with steam veggies and it was delicious! I love Jamaican food and having this place so close to work is fantastic! The staff is super friendly! The decor is beautiful and music that is being played is a very welcomed changed to the current downtown bar scene. I really hope that Orlando supports this much needed business in our downtown community! I can't wait to go back and try the curry chicken over white rice. Yummy! read more

This was the worst food experience I've ever had. The owner of the restaurant attacked me and my friend. I wish I was making this up but this man literally took the hats off our heads . He kept threatening us and SCREAMING "call the cops"... all we wanted was our hats back. So eventually after 10-15 minutes of his irrational yelling his friends came up ready to get physical with us and assault us. We walked away and they followed looking to pick a fight. A Complete Failure We waited 45 minutes for some food to arrive at our table. No one checked back with us or updated us on what the hold up might be. During our wait, I decided to use the restroom. Impossible. The restroom is right next to the front entrance.The door opens directly to the toilet in plain sight, but the restroom door is so warped it is impossible to shut, let alone lock. So unless you can station a guard, the restroom is not usable. Seems the AC is not functioning properly either, as they had numerous paddle fans as well as big floor fans running. After waiting over half an hour, a waiter (not the person who waited on us) came over and asked if we had been helped yet. What? Cannot comment on the food; we never got any. Ten minutes later we simply left in frustration. I cannot recommend this restaurant on any level. read more

We ran into this little spot heading to Rum Fest this past weekend, we stopped in and grabbed a Pattie with Coco bread and a Ting. It was really good because it is hard to find good Coco Bread not everyone can make it. My only downside was the plantains seemed as if they weren't quite ripe for a true sweet plantain and the bathroom door. You had to pull up on it in order to close it. I will be trying them again to see how the other items on the menu are. read more

Tried them out for lunch and I wasn't too happy. I ordered curry chicken... the rice smelled sour, the curry was a bit different than what I'm used to having as well as a bit salty and it just didn't smell right. My co workers even asked if it was my food that smelled... that was the validation and I threw it out. I will give them another try but only for the patties. Stumbled across this place walking downtown after a movie. The beef patty and ox tail were amazing. I loved it soo much i have been there 5 times since and they will continue to get my business because you can tell they put love into their food. But what really impressed me is the amount of food I got fir the $5 "mini meal"....I could have paid $10 bucks for this and probably thought it was still a fair price. I've lived downtown for 5 years now. Whenever a new restaurant pops up I'm always first in line. I LOVE carribean/west indie food. Unfortunately, I was very let down by this restaurant. I went with two other friends who were just as eager as I to try the food here. The establishment looks very nice on the inside. I will at least say that! The staff is very nice as well. However, the minute we started placing orders the common response that was told to us is "we don't have that." That to me meant that wow the food was so delicious that people were just ordering so much of it that they ran out... Not the case. When we finally were able to pick something that was actually in the restaurant, we waited about 15-20 minutes for the food to come out. No problem... we could at least just enjoy our drinks while we waited. Wrong again, both my friends found bugs in their drinks. I'm not sure if it was because they kept the doors open in an attempt to lure people in. But they lured small fly looking bugs as well. When the food finally made it to our table it was no where close to being hot. Which was ironic because the wait took forever and the place wasn't packed at all. As a matter of fact there were two women sitting next to us that sent their food back for being cold as well. I would never bash a company. This is not what I'm here to do. I am here to be honest in hopes that someone of authority take notice to this review in order to make positive changes. We've dined take out from this establishment multiple times without any complaints. Today we ordered from door dash and the food was burnt / over cooked. We ordered the jerk wings and 2 chicken patties. We received 1 out of the 2 patties and the chicken was dry & over cooked. Long story short I will no be ordering from here again. read more

I was walking down Orange Avenue on my way to yet another slice of crappy pizza when it happened!!! I was overcome by the intoxicating smells of the islands, the smells permeated my very being and as I turned to look into the place that where the incredible smells were coming from, A voice called out to me "Hello. Welcome" in a warm and friendly Jamaican voice and I immediately turned and entered this warm inviting place. The friendly voice belonged to Orin I found out as he introduced himself and handed me a menu. By this point, I was almost overwhelmed by the amazing and wonderful smells that were all around me. This place is amazing and amazingly good. A little oasis in the cold and commercial heart of Orlando. I ordered the Jerk Chicken and it was the real deal, strong but kind to the palate, warming my whole body from the inside out. Great real food , great hospitality and all this at a great price. Be careful... they will try to over charge you for mediocre Jamaican food. There is a sever who will try to up-sell you any way possible. Food is mediocre at best. You can get more for your money at Mark's, Golden Crust or any other Jamaican restaurant. The Jamaican beef patties are store bought and frozen. read more

This is such a great mom and pop gem in the downtown area. Went to Jam-Eng with my family during Christmas Eve and I loved how warm and welcoming everyone was there! The curry was absolutely delicious. They threw in some Yorkshire pudding on the house because my sisters boyfriend is welsh and said he missed it.
