Brown Stew Chicken with Rice & Peas

The food was damn good -- full of flavor, nicely seasoned, and cooked just right. I'd definitely order it again, but you really need to serve larger portions. $20 USD fi 2 small food and a Bigga soda -- it's not bad, but honestly, I feel like I could get a bit more value for that price elsewhere. The portion size just didn't match what I expected based on how it's listed. Also, you might want to update your DoorDash menu, because what exactly is "express serving"? When I ordered it, I thought I was paying for two large meals, since the label looked different from the "small" option. It was confusing, and I only realized after receiving the order. Still, props to the chef -- the food was on point! Just a little menu clarity and bigger portions, and it would've been perfect.

I tried the oxtail here, I've tried better oxtail but this was still good. I may come back to try the little stew chicken special just because I saw it was around $6

More like a 3.5. Had the jerk chicken mini meal. $5 for rice and two pieces of chicken. The chicken was a bit cold but the value is too good to really knock it. Also tried the spicy beef patty which was incredible and the lovely lady who took our order threw in a chicken curry patty to try and it was also good. They're open late and I'd go back to try their other foods. The oxtail at the table next to us looked/smelled awesome.

I love Jam Eng's hours - after going out down town it's the perfect late night snack. The oxtails were so tender and were more meat than bone (which we LOVE). There's a decent amount of seating, which is great because it gets busy. Staff are friendly.

This gave all the feels of a quick service restaurant. The oxtails were great with good flavor and gravy! I would have liked some additional seasoning on the cabbage but for people watching their salt intake, this allows you to add salt to your liking. It was warm in the restaurant but I rarely have been to a Caribbean restaurant that wasn't warm in the inside! Give it a go, you don't be disappointed.

I ordered take-out here and thought the food tasted pretty good. I tried the vegan fish ($10) and jerk drumsticks ($12) which tasted flavorful with the sauce that came with it. The rice and veggies were just pure salty but it balanced well with the protein. Only downside was I had also ordered a Shepherds pie, but it was missing in the order. Turns out they had run out of it though it was only 4pm on a Saturday. At least they were nice about offering to make something else. They said they couldn't provide a refund directly, so I had to report the issue to Uber Eats. Good service by very friendly staff. Parking was a hassle, but that's to be expected downtown.

The service was amazing, and the lady working was so sweet! The music added such a nice touch to the atmosphere--it was definitely a whole vibe. The food was really good too, and the portions were super generous for the price. Overall, it's a 5/5 for me!

You can smell the food down the street! We had the chicken patty, spicy beef patty and vegetable patty, and jerk chicken. Best Jamaican patties! He also threw in 2 vegan chicken wings for us to try! Everything was amazing, even the vegan chicken which we are not vegetarian by any stretch. Can't wait to go back for some oxtail which is a favorite of mine. Definitely will be back!

Nice spot to grab a quick lunch. Can't beat $5 brown stew chicken with rice and pease. I wish they added more gravy though.

Amazing! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. Nancy greeted us with a genuine smile and actually seemed happy to see us. That may sound like a small thing, but these days it means a lot to walk into a restaurant and immediately feel like they are happy to have you as a guest. Mia was our server and she was AMAZING. If you're going to The Pub, ask for Mia! She was friendly, attentive, gave us great service, and most importantly, never made us feel rushed. We arrived around 7 PM and didn't leave until after 8. We were able to relax, enjoy our food, talk, and celebrate 20 years together. Caroline, one of the managers, was also wonderful, as was another manager Arabella exceeded our expectations! Everyone we interacted with made the evening better at the Pointe Orlando location. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I loved the wall décor, comfortable seating, lighting, and overall atmosphere. The lighting especially was perfect for an anniversary dinner--relaxed without feeling overly fancy. And the food? Excellent. I had the salmon with potatoes and broccoli and really enjoyed it. Dessert was delicious too. I was also impressed with the prices considering the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service. After 20 years of marriage, sometimes you don't need anything complicated. You just want good food, a beautiful atmosphere, your wife sitting across from you, and people who make you feel welcome. The Pub at Pointe Orlando gave us exactly that. Thank you Arabella, Mia, Caroline, Nancy, and the entire Pointe Orlando team for helping make our 20th anniversary a great one. We will definitely be back.

Seat yourself, a little schlubby building with only a few, dark windows. I loved it. Felt like real Britain. Service was good. The guy was super nice, and the food all came out timely and hot. No worries there. I was also super impressed and pleased that they had a Guinness 0.0 available in a can. I've been told it's nothing like the real thing, but I thought it was pretty darn good. As for the food, it was dynamite. Started off with a simple Chips & Curry Sauce. Very nicely fried fries with a heaping helping of a thick curry sauce. A very mild sauce that was good on pretty much anything. I finished the fries and kept the sauce around for subsequent courses. I then had a Sausage Roll & Crisps. The roll was great. Super flakey pastry enveloped a very nice, well-seasoned sausage that had a good snap to it with every bite. Delicious. Then, my main event, a Home-Made Meat Pie (Steak & Mushroom, Served with Chips and Garden Peas). Check the picture. It wasn't a pie pie like I was expecting, but the filling was really deep and umami in the way only steak and mushroom can be. The pastry was, again, really good, and I subbed the chips for onion rings, and they were crispy and dipped really well in that curry sauce. Overall, this was a nice, simple, delicious experience that did a good job bringing us coworkers together for some good camaraderie.

Great selection of Irish beers, which we ordered a round of. When it was time to order, our only problem was that everything sounded good, so it was hard to choose. The Irish brown bread was very good and just like the brown bread I had daily when visiting Ireland. They didn't have Magner's cider, but did have Strongbow, so I got that. Granted, Magner's IS Irish, so understandable for an English pub. My partner got a soda, and never had a problem with that nor my water running low thanks to our server! I got the fish and shrimp combo, my partner got the steak pie, and we shared the fried pickles as a starter. I really liked how crisp the breading on the pickles were, and my partner commented that it almost tasted like there might have been brine in the batter. The fish and shrimp was amazing- the fish was battered well without being too much, and had a great flavor. The shrimp were not overdone, which I often find a problem. The cocktail sauce was great, good kick from the horseradish. The tater sauce was a good complement, and actually had enough pickle to not feel like I was just eating mayo on my fish..... but, I did prefer to enjoy with just the malt vinegar on the table!!! My partner's steak pie had a lovely flaky crust, and the side of gravy for his chips was very good. We both ended up dipping quite a few of our chips in it! Overall, I'm excited to go back and try other varieties of fried fish, because the base of cod was done so well!
