This was the best breakfast I've eaten in a very long time, and the prices were pretty reasonable too. One of my besties and I came here for a brunch date on Saturday around noon-ish and the place was full like it was still the breakfast rush hour, which was a good sign, but we didn't have to wait on a table, which was an even better sign. We sat down and got the fresh squeezed OJ which was very good and fresh. We didn't know what to order because the menu was sooo large. They had a lot of choices! We finally decided and I ordered the Mediterranean omelet, which is unlike me b/c I typically go the safe route and get a waffle, my friend ordered the Greek skillet and pancakes which looked amazing, I tasted the pancake which was light and fluffy and very good, not like any other pancake I'd tasted (not a big pancake fan). The food is really good and they give very generous portions. When I feel like a light breakfast, the egg option with a side of fruit and pancakes is perfect. When I'm feeling like a hearty brunch, you can't go wrong with their omelettes. My favorites are the Mediterranean and the Lox. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is that the few times I've been here, the servers haven't seemed very friendly... like they always want me to hurry up and eat my food fast. I usually stay here with a girlfriend for about 2 hours and get at least one refill of coffee. Went to brunch here this weekend and will not return. Busy restaurant but was seated for 2 within 15 minutes. Our server was friendly enough and kept coffee refilled. The BF and I come here for breakfast. We split the veggie skillet and they split it for us and use separate plates so that I don't have to!! They also offer Cholula. I met up with a friend here for breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this little diner-ish place was! Here's what stood out: Service - the service was top notch! We sat there talking as we looked over the menu, and probably took longer than we should've to place our order. At some places, you feel rushed, like you'er annoying the server because you're taking too long. Here, our waitress checked on us periodically, but didn't make us feel rushed. She kept on top of drink refills, which was also nice. Food - We both had one of the skillets. I had the American Skillet which had potatoes, some veggies, and chunks of sausage, with two eggs on top. It was served with pancakes or toast. My friend had the Veggie Skillet. Both skillets were absolutely delicious, and seasoned just right. The pancakes were tasty too! It was a lot of food, and the price wasn't bad at all. For a weekday, I was surprised at just how many people there! That must be a sign of good food, right? Anyhow, I'd say this is probably my new favorite breakfast place in the area. read more

Solid breakfast. I got the salmon bennie and a side of corned beef hash. Both were good. I had expected lox-style smoked salmon but the used lump style, which was fine. The first thing I noticed about this place was the decor. Very nice paint job, beautiful granite counter tops, wood floor... this is pretty much what I want my house to look like. The service was excellent and performed with a smile. My coffee never quite got to half full because there was always someone ready with a warm up. I had the "Big Fat Greek Skillet", which met my primary needs when going to Chicago: Gyros and Feta. The skillet was very very good, and I will probably order it the next time I'm here. My toast was served with my choice of jam; I chose Strawberry Rhubarb which was a bit runny but with great flavor. The wheat toast had a nice amount of grain in it and was toasted well. Really a great restaurant with a reasonable price. I recommend it! read more

Carbcake eggs benny ...thry this if you like crabcakes it was delish. Prosciutto Fresh mozzarella Crepes...These were tasty however they went a bit overboard with the Basil....easy up there chef/cook. The coffee here IMO is bit better than most breakfast places. The OJ is AWESOME, way better than other chain-breakfast places that use the concentrated shtuff. The place has a clean minimal feel to it, nothing distracting but the multi level dining room gives the place a feeling that the decorator and owner give a poop about personality. read more

As Good As It Gets! My wife and I went for the first time on Valentine's Day (our anniversary) for breakfast. We were seated within 60 seconds. Literally 3 seconds later there was a carafe of ice water with lemon and two clean glasses at my table. Literally 5 seconds later my server introduced herself and poured our waters. Within this time, the manager had already spoken and everyone was smiling! The food was amazing! We ordered eggs, sausage, bacon and french toast. I remarked at the beautiful pancakes at another table, and just like that the manager delivered a complimentary short stack with powdered sugar, whipped butter and warm syrup. Later he had two glasses of orange juice sent out. Complimentary as well. I could tell they were whole oranges just an hour or so ago. Exceptional quality of food. Really the best experience I've had in quite some time eating out! They also brought toast (tastes like it's made there; I forgot to ask) and homemade jams with whipped butter. The service was fast. Efficient. They knew when to come to the table and when not to. Our server was very pleasant. The value for the quality of food is great. Can't believe I haven't been here before. We'll be back. We were looking for a new breakfast place to try and dropped in on the Jam n Jelly this morning. Compared to a lot of other breakfast/lunch places in the area it's relatively new, so it has nice decor and comfortable seating. My wife loves Eggs Benedict and decided to try the Benedict Skillet. I had the Mexican skillet. The food was very good - the Chorizo was flavorful and spicy, but not too hot to eat. The one downside was the service - we ended up waiting by the door for close to 10 minutes...the restaurant wasn't full and there was no line. Once we were seated, the coffee didn't come around too often, and the food took quite awhile for a restaurant that wasn't busy. Overall, we'll be back (because we loved the food), but as other reviewers have commented, be prepared for a leisurely meal. read more

I must say Jam & Jelly is probably one of the best skillets I've had in the country. I've eaten here twice, and each time has been memorable. I'm writing this review from another state this morning, just thinking again about how nice it would be to have this restaurant locally -because the breakfast options here in Columbia, Missouri flat suck in comparison. Let me just start with I love breakfast. I have been in the suburbs for a few years now and found this place right under my nose. The food is delicious and they have great-tasting gluten free options like pancakes and toast. The jam is perfectly sweetened and it's a very nice change to the typical jam packets you see in other breakfast places. Today I took my family for brunch as we have many times. The food is just ok, I like the other location in woodridge but because this one was closer we went here. The wait wasn't to badbut the owner is a JERK!!!! He heard me say I had better food at the other location and he was extremely rude to me about it. He told me "look the wait wasn't to bad even though you said my food sucks!" (I never said it sucked) then said" I own both locations and look around I'm nit doing bad" he said this to me loudly so everyone around us could hear. So we sat down and got drinks. He stared at me the whole time and was talking to his employees clearly about me. I decided it was best to to leave. I have never been so disappointed or disrespected by a owner ever!!! I never called any of his food sucky. He wasn't minding his own business and was listening to my conversation with my family. Also to call me out in a crowded restaurant is bulls**t. He OWNES BOTH!!!! And this one is the worst one. If he wanted to say anything about what I said he should have apologized to me for the awful experience I have had there a few times. And it was also him that dealt with those issues so I know he has seen me! And just been thankful we were coming to give his crappy restaurant another chance. Don't go here! It's way over priced for lame food that you can cook better yourself at home. When I left I told him his customer service was terrible and he yelled at me!!! GREAT diner/cafe. Menu is standard breakfast/brunch fare. Frequently have creative specials in addition to regular menu. Portions are large and seems a really good value. My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenagers) will spend $70 (before tip) for full brunch including drinks (smoothies, milk/juice,etc). Staff and servers REALLY MAKE THIS PLACE SHINE!!! They are adequately staffed so that time from being seated, to placing order, to receiving food is prompt. Impressive teamwork and really efficient. Have been there several times, and have had different servers most of the visits. ALL staff seem attentive to the little details like refills of coffee; having lemons in water carafe; sugar/creamer are always full; kids cups or smaller portions provided (when kids were younger) without me asking for it. We hold this place as THE standard for suburban based brunch. We will continue to be repeat customers. Keep up the great work!!! read more

As the name of the restaurant would lead you to believe, the homemade jam and jelly are very, very good. From my experience, though, little else here is. The prices are similar to Egg Harbor, but the food isn't as good. Been here for both breakfast and lunch, and wasn't wowed either time. Had the quesadilla on my most recent visit and can honestly say I've made better at home for a fraction of the cost. It was very bland. Hostess was friendly and I was seated promptly, but our party's waitress was pretty bad -- slow with refills and could barely hear her over the ambient noise. The only time she moved in a timely fashion was when we asked for our check. She brought that at once and was promptly back to take the cash to the register. Otherwise, it was like she was wearing cement shoes. What made it even more disappointing was that the other waiters and waitresses serving tables around us seemed to be doing a phenomenal job. This is one of our usual breakfast stops. The food is always really good and you definitely get a lot of it. The skillets and the omelets are both very good. Super fluffy pancakes and the best whipped butter out there. The only complaints is that the service is a little bit slow and there's a limited kids menu. Love this place! Has one of my favorite dishes, 'Benedict skillet'. Comes with hollandaise sauce that is creamy with a slight hint of lemon. Addictive flavors. Skillets here have cubed potatoes, which I enjoy better then shredded. Also have gluten free option for pancakes if desired. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has a really nice decor and ambiance on the inside. We tried this place out last Sunday at about 1pm. There was no wait at that time, but the place was still fairly busy. Our experience was pleasant, and the service was good. My husband ordered a ham and cheese omelette and I ordered the Jammin' Breakfast. The food portions were large, but I thought most of the items tasted kind of bland and flavorless (I had to salt almost everything.) I was, however, pleasantly surprised to find out that my meal came with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and it was delicious! Will we be back again? Im not sure. Really disappointed, we went there on Fathers Day to have a nice Breakfast with the family. One of the specials was Avocado Benedict, which I ordered. The waitress comes back and tells me well they will substitute the salsa with a hollandaise sauce instead, which will make it "better". When my meal came out it was two eggs on a Avocado smothered in hollandaise sause with potatoes. It was nothing less that terrible. You couldn't eat the egg because it flooded the plate. I was there with two small children and the waitress said she would bring out something else, but anyone with kids knows they won't wait for something else to be cooked. If its not available do not put it on the SPECIALS menu. I paid $12 for an avocado . Doubt we will be back, and we really had high hopes. read more
