The food is good but the wait is ridiculous. It's like even if you tell them "I need this at 12pm ( told them at 11 when they first opened because I was in a class a couple doors down) they still wont make it until you get there so I still waited when I shouldn't have. I think its great we have a jerk chicken place out here but if I'm just getting chicken, I dont want to wait 35 minutes if I call or not). I believe this business could do very well for a few reasons if they don't have you wait for 35-40 minutes freezing because they dont want to cut on the heat and its freezing cold outside. Today was my 2nd time at coming to this restaurant. I ordered 8 jerk tacos and a side of Mac and yams. The tacos were ok, definitely could have been better after waiting over 30 minutes. Yams were gross, the Mac needed salt, butter and cheese. It didn't look or taste fresh. On top of that the woman that took out order tells us that she only takes orders, she is not a cashier. We actually didn't even see her for like 30 minutes, then a gentleman comes out to so we can finally pay for food. Kind of a bizarre experience. I went in and placed an order for the jerk pita and pop special. She said the order was 6 and change, and then I asked about the sign right next to her that said it cost $5. She said that was for the tacos and that the sign was wrong. Not sure why they wouldn't just take the sign down if it was wrong, but ok. I switched to the tacos instead. I asked her if only specific drinks were included with the special, but she said anything in the cooler. Well about 20 minutes later when the food came out she told me that the ginger soda I picked wasn't included in the special. I reminded her that I asked about that exact thing prior to my selection and her response was "give me a dollar and then you can leave". This place must really not want customers. The food is good but the wait is RIDICULOUS!! They say the food is made fresh, which is a great thing, however...did they have to capture the chicken, kill it, clean it and then cook it?!? Why is the wait so long?????? You're suckered into paying for your food with the "it'll be 15 minutes" line and end up waiting over an hour for food that you didn't intend to purchase because they're out of everything you actually planned to eat. Maybe I'll check back in a month to see if they've gotten their stuff together. I ordered from here twice now, both orders via uber eats. 1st order the food was good only thing missing were my drinks. NO BIG DEAL RIGHT?! 2nd order another uber eats order, opens at 11am and with the wait time i expected to be close to 2 hours since the first order took about that long. I oder at 11am and i get a call from uber eats saying they are out of sauce...doesnt say what sauce so i assume spaghetti, no big deal proceed with remaining order. I end up ordering $47 worth of food and with their prices that actually A LOT of food...i get my order and......not a single thing in the order was mine... they sent me about $12 worth of food and told the uber driver they had nothing else available. Knowing they had nothing i ordered they shouldve have just cancelled my order but no they thought it was okay to just send me whatever scraps of food they could find. Thought to order even after reading reviews! Ordered on the phone and was told give her 25 minutes; I gave her 30! When I walked in I was told they did not have spaghetti, which by the way come with the Saturday special. How do you have a special but don't have all the sides; which by the way they supposedly serve all day. The ribs are rib tips and overthrown by seasoning; salty to say the least. The greens and red beans and rice taste like store bought and they added their twist; which is not good! Plus they forgot the cornbread with the meal! I also ordered the jerk taco special, the tacos was not jerk but came with watered down jerk sauce; and they were out of soda other than pineapple orange; which I despise anything orange!! I want to this place during the day, maybe three people and still waited 1hr. People was complaining about missing food, and they ran out of food as well. I understand they are fairly new and just getting up to speed but damn! The thing that mostly concerned me was....Jamaican food is very rich in spices, there was no smell of food cooking! They are literally destroying their first impressions with so many potential customers as a business by having inconsistent hours of open and close. Sat outside a half hour today thinking they'd be open for lunch and while I was sitting outside they put a sign up that said they won't be open till 1 pm. They have no hours listed online or on the door. Clearly, if they are having issues that result in the opening after lunch they don't have it together at all so they need to come in earlier to be ready for customers. While I was sitting outside I saw over 10 customers come and go. Hopefully, this business still has a chance to be successful if they get it together. Drove an hour to try it today... I was able to get a chicken an bbq dinner lastnight off the food truck after they left pride. I ate it for lunch today and it was BOMB. The meat was seasoned an tender. The yams were by far my favorite, the greens an mac an cheese were really good also. Im glad ingot the dinner instead of tacos. Only downside it's in Naperville...that's a hump for me but I may make that drive on a weekend. read more

We ordered the rib tips and a whole jerk chicken. Ran across the street for a drink while we waited and came back in half an hour. Was told they only had enough rib tips for half an order and wondered if we would take sausage as a replacement which was okay with us. Got our food about 10 minutes later and all was delicious. A lot of disorganization going on but the food was well worth the wait. I hope they get it together because they have a lot of potential based on the number of people that were coming and waiting. read more

I wish I could tell you how good or bad the food is, but all I can report on, is how bad the customer service is, how disorganized the management is, and how long the wait for food is. I stopped by on Sunday afternoon at 12:30. There were three people in the store ahead of me waiting for their orders. I wanted to be quick so I ordered their jerk chicken lunch special. The teenager at the register told me it would take 15 minutes. At 30 minutes I was getting frustrated and told it would only be five minutes more. At 45 minutes, I was getting angry, and the teenager went into the kitchen to get an update for me. At 55 minutes, I was furious, demanded my money back, and left the store. By this time, the store had more customers who had ordered food, and they too were waiting. The three folks who had ordered before me said they were there now for 90 minutes, and still had not received their order! I have never seen such a poorly run operation. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT. If you want to waste time, find a fun video game to play instead. read more

Me and my friend went here Saturday 02/23/19 at 430pm. there was no one there so we assumed it wouldn't take long. I ordered rib tips and she ordered salmon. We were told 35min. Ok fine yes that's super long but we didn't have anything to do so we waited. 40 minutes later the place became packed! we went inside to get out order come to find out my order wasn't ready because the sides I wanted they were out. so I ordered another side. Well comes to find out they didn't make my order at all and so I waited another 35-40. mind you we got there at 430. we didn't leave there until 6pm! I asked for my money back but the cashier was oblivious, u can tell it was his first job and that he needed help. They were messing up other customers orders, I honestly think they gave mine away. The jerk rib was good. it didn't really taste like jerk, it tasted more like Ribs with spicy mild sauce, like them mild sauce we used to eat on our ribs back in the day. It was good. the cabbage is nasty as well as the macaroni. Will I go back? I don't know maybe 1 day but they need to stock up because at 430 they didn't have any oxtails, catfish, greens and some other stuff . read more

Yes the food was good they just need a better system. I went there for the first time on Sunday, March 3rd. Ordered the jerk shrimp dinner with cabbage, beans and rice and I ordered a large side of plantains. Was told the wait would be 45min because I was ordering shrimp. I figured how long does it take shrimp and plantain to cook(15-20min tops) as the sides should already be done. I decided to wait thinking maybe they have several call in orders that they need to complete before they could get to my order, also there were 5 or 6 people before me waiting for their orders. As I waited several grubhub and uber drivers came in for pickups. They complained stating they have a long waits every time they have an order from this restaurant. After waiting for about an hour the customers waiting started comparing notes on what they ordered and how long they had been waiting. Only two people were working, a teenage boy who looked to be between 15-18 who was taking orders and helping get orders in the back, so he would be away from the ordering counter for several minutes at a time. Several people came in during this time rang the bell for service but because no one ever came out to the register they left. People who had called in still had to wait sometimes to get their orders. I finally went to the counter after one of the customers who came in after me was told his order was ready. Finally after about 1hr 30min my order was ready. I checked order and left, but as I drove I realized there was not a container with my side order of plantains. I had totally forgot when I checked the order because I was ready to leave. Called back and was told I could come back another day, but explained I had just left and was only a minute away and was on my way back to get the plantain. Maybe they should have certain foods on certain days for a while until they get a good flowing system. This way they're not worried about cooking all the different food everyday. Plus they started running out of certain sides and asking customer to substitute items. They need more people working on cooking and preparing orders. Not sure how many appliances such as stoves, cookers and other items are in the back, but they need logistical help in getting organized. You should also make sure you ask for things such as the Jamaican bread and different type of sauces. I was given a hot sauce type of sauce but was informed later by a family member they have different sauces such as the thicker jerk seasoning sauce. But because the jerk seasoning on the shrimp was more than enough, I didn't need the sauce. Also they put the jerk seasoning on top of the rice and beans which gave it that extra flavor. I just stopped supporting a jerk location in the city for extremely long waits. I'm a very patient person, but who wants to wait almost two hours for an order. The facility isn't set up for dine in so now you have to drive home before you can eat after waiting almost 2 hours. Would not recommend doing a walk up, coming in for lunch, or having some appointment you need to be at as you will be late because of long waits. I've heard phone in order are also slow but I will give them another try since they are a new business and hopefully things will get better. They have no other competition in the area and could really succeed if they improve their services. The one thing I must say my food was delicious. The quality of food and flavor was some of the best I've had. Food was seasoned perfectly and the jerk seasoning was extremely good. Some of the best Jamaican food I've had in Illinois. read more
