Maaannn this is the best Jamaican food I've had in all my days. Me and my wife came here years ago on a layover for our job and tried it out. It was perfect. I came back here on another layover today and decided to see if it was what I remember and it's even better. I have eaten here for at least 10 years and have absolutely loved it. Some of the best oxtail I've ever had, and the jerk chicken is *chefs kiss*. The downside is service. They would be more friendly and speedier with the service. Also, over the past years every time you go it's a new price. I do understand that inflation it's real & everything is going up, but going up in price, but lessening the serving size doesn't add up. They only give ONE plantain with a large entree....does that make any type of sense. The side of plantains is NINE DOLLARS!!!! Do you know that plantains only cost $1, $2 max in the grocery store. Everytime I went since I was 7 years old they have been rude i have took my 4 year old to go and as I was asked to dine in they insisted on brining me to go boxes . As a Jamaican and fellow restaurant owner, mi vex to mi core. I pulled up to this sorry excuse of a "restaurant" on June 22, 2025, and from the minute mi open the door, mi hear MICROWAVE non-stop. Mi step closer to the counter and mi see the guys in there heating up my food in a foam box. No shame, no care, just chuck it in microwave and press start. By the time we reach back to the hotel, a whole STENCH start leak from the bag. Rice and peas smell like it been sitting in the back fridge from 3 days ago. Pure nastiness. Mi open the box and nearly vomit. Didn't even taste it. Straight in the trash. $39 DOWN THE DRAIN. What kind of Jamaican restaurant have the audacity fi serve cold, stale food and heat it up in the same foam container they give you to eat from?? That alone tell you dem no have any respect & dem nasty. This place is a DISGRACE to Jamaican culture. A mockery to our food. If you know what's good for you, run the other way. I really wanted to support, I hoped to be able to make this a staple when visiting but that was not the case. The one thing I need for a Jamaican restaurant to do correct is Plaintains and NOPE they didn't do right here. First they only gave me 1 (red flag) 2 IT wasn't ripe ( BIGGEST RED FLAG OF ALL)... the cabbage was orange and not flavorful at all.. the rice was soggy but the chicken was decent.. This place has got some delicious very authentic Jamaican cuisine. I am pretty obsessed with the jerk lamb, which comes with all the sides, including plantains cabbage and beans and rice. My hubby always gets the oxtails, which has just the right amount of fat to keep it tasty, and it's so tender, it falls right off the bone. read more

I haven't had the pleasure of trying much Jamaican food as I don't believe there are any Caribbean restaurants on Maui (outside of Puerto Rican establishments). My cousin, a gourmet chef from the Greenville area, highly recommended this place for lunch while my fiancé and I were visiting a couple months ago. Of course, we had to try it! The majority of my family ordered the jerk pork, as my cousin swears by it. Unfortunately, when I put my order in right after theirs, the restaurant had already run out. It is a popular item and a special that they make fresh every day, so when it's all gone, that's it! Luckily, I was still able to order the jerk chicken plate and a beef patty. I did try a piece of the pork off my other cousin's plate and it was very good - tender and flavorful! The jerk chicken was great - moist and seasoned perfectly. I think I would try to get the jerk pork early next time, just so I don't have to mess with chicken bones, but it was well worth it anyway. The rice and accompanying plantains were great. I never even knew I liked plantains as a side dish until eating takeout from this restaurant - cooked perfectly, not hard or chewy. I love pasteles but have struck out with plantains as a side at other restaurants before - not here. The side of cabbage was also excellent - a great complement to the dish! Finally, the beef patty was a great treat. You can't even get those on Maui (unless frozen possibly at the store). The crust and spices used are always so comforting. Everything was very tasty. We chose Jamaican because at home our favorite place closed (chef/owners retired) and we haven't found anything that compares and haven't had it in about a year. We are glad we did. Although the pictures are not much to go by, the flavor was great. We had oxtail, brown stewed chicken, and jerk chicken. Hubby wanted goat curry but they were out (shipment was not coming until later in the evening). The rice & peas was seasoned well, a little mushy, but all in all good. The cabbage was good - I prefer a little onion, which if it was in there, you could not taste it. The oxtail and stewed chicken were delicious. The jerk chicken was very savory and the sauce was thick and clung to the chicken pieces. We prefer our jerk seasoning to be spicier/hotter, but it had a wonderful umami flavor. Service was great, too. We were eating at a very off hour so we almost had the dining room to ourselves. You could tell that they made in house and it was not out of a bottle. This was my first time trying oxtails and I can say I really enjoyed them! The side were also really good. The cabbage was different from from usually cabbage but it was surprisingly good. I mixed mine with the rice and beans and it was really good. I cleaned my plate and the bones. Great food! I order the curry goat, rice and peas, and I'm not to sure what the other side is. I just know it's orange lol O I also ordered a slice of their rum cake. When I tell you my goat was really tender. I've been to places were the meat is way to tough and it ruins the whole meal for me. Then they gave me a lot of meat. Thankfully I got the medium and not large because I could barely eat all of what I ordered. The lady who took my order was really friendly. I happen to be the only customer so I got my meal fast. Now the rum cake though is super strong on the rum. You can smell the rum through the Togo box but the cake is tasty which the lady recommended. Definitely worth my money and drive. Yesterday they were out of cabbage (one of my favorite items but no big deal. They offered extra rice of plantains as a sub. My gripe yesterday is that I waited 15 minutes before even being addressed, one gentleman saw I was waiting long, asked what I wanted but still didn't place my order. Another young lady came over and actually placed my to go order but at no point did anyone say "can we offer you some water or a drink for your wait". So I waited another 20 minutes for my food and another 10 to get checked out (for a to go order).
