So happy to have good patties in the area with more than your usual patty variety, and at a very fair price consistent with other places, $3.50 each. You can choose from jerk chicken, curry chicken, bbq chicken, and also impossible patties, but that's not even all of them! Tried the hot beef and bbq chicken this time. Both were very fresh, and tasted homemade. I liked the crust on the hot beef I got today; more of the thick, chewy consistency I go far. You've been warned about the hot beef, it's got plenty peppah! This is probably the spiciest beef patty I've ever had, and that's a good thing. It's more of a small hole in the wall but very clean and bright. They have a few different drinks you can buy on the go, you'll need it for the hot beef :D! The packaging is a plus, the paper bag is insulated. Service is fast and friendly. Love that this place is on prime Fulton off the subway.

I really liked the patties here and the people! They were really nice and sweet! I ordered an ackee and jerk chicken patty, but had to come back because one was missing. The guy didn't even question it and said no problem. The ackee patty had really good flavor and just the right touch of spice level! The jerk chicken patty didn't look or taste like it. It tasted more like a curried meat patty which was just as fine with me if that is what it was. Nice flaky pastry to filling ratio. The place is small and tight! It is clean and if you look around there are lots of other goodies to be had. Though still some missteps on my order, the food was delish and flavorful!

If you haven't been to Pecking House yet, consider this your sign to go. The restaurant has become…read morea favorite among the Gen Z crowd, and after one bite of its signature chili-fried chicken, it's easy to understand why. The chicken is crunchy, intensely flavorful, and carries just the right amount of heat. Each piece is buttermilk-brined, country-fried, and dusted with Sichuan peppercorns, Tianjin chilis, and five-spice, creating a combination that's spicy, numbing, savory, and deeply addictive all at once. But the menu goes beyond the famous fried chicken. Seasonal dishes rotate regularly, alongside standout chicken sandwiches and wings that deserve just as much attention. There's an energy to the food that feels modern without losing sight of technique or tradition. That balance comes directly from chef and founder Eric Huang. Huang grew up working in his family's Chinese restaurant while training as a cellist at Juilliard School before eventually abandoning music. After a detour studying history at Northwestern University, he committed fully to cooking and spent more than a decade training in some of NYC's most prominent kitchens, including Cafe Boulud, Gramercy Tavern, and Eleven Madison Park. As a sous chef at Eleven Madison Park, he was part of the team that helped the restaurant earn the title of "Best Restaurant in the World" in 2017. Like many chefs, Huang's plans changed dramatically in 2020 when the pandemic interrupted his ambitions of opening a Michelin-starred restaurant. Instead, he returned home to help save his family's struggling business. Out of that difficult moment came the dish that would define Pecking House: the now-famous Sichuan chili country fried chicken, reportedly perfected on the very first attempt. Pecking House succeeds because it combines serious culinary pedigree with food that's delicious, craveable, and unpretentious. The fried chicken alone is worth the trip and the long line.

They give you a large portion of fries and sides but not enough chicken in comparison. If it were up to me I'd skip the fries and just opt for extra tenders, canes sauce, and slaw. The fries are crinkle cut and have no color or crisp. Ask for extra canes sauce. The people who work here are always friendly and upbeat with the restaurant itself being brand new. Give them a try!

Peruvian? Caribbean? Somewhere in between? What kind of cuisine is this?…read more In any event, the rotisserie chicken is not to be messed with. It is full of flavor, albeit not that cheap considering this hole in the wall restaurant is located in an iffy part of Crown Heights. There is nowhere to eat here. Just take your food, walk up to Eastern Parkway, and eat it there... if you are brazen enough. I am not, so I walked to the Nostrand Ave subway station (on the 3 train) and took a roughly 30 minute subway ride home. The sides I got were the coleslaw (it is a vinegar-based slaw, not a mayonnaise based), and the roasted potatoes. They both taste great, along with the famed "green sauce", which is really a spicy Peruvian garlic sauce. No fooling me! I drank this stuff by the gallon when I lived in Virginia. If you get a combo, you also get their famed cornbread, but my goodness is it dense. It feels heavy in the hand, but also contains heavy flavor. They even cook corn bits into the bread itself! Really unique take and something I can definitely appreciate. The Bird is definitely the word here.

I went with delivery and got the half chicken with two sides - collard greens and squash. The chicken was nicely seasoned but not a ton of meat. The sides were very generous and exactly what I expected. The collard greens were fresh and not overly salty or bitter. I would have preferred less oil on the squash. The two sides were more than enough for one person. They give you a few choices for dipping sauces. I went with the green sauce and the harissa sauce. The green sauce was by far my favorite. The harissa was good too, a bit spicy. If you can only choose one sauce, go with the green. The green went better with the chicken. Would order again with a larger side of sauce.
