Have been a fan of James Avery since visiting their original store years ago in Kerrville Texas after doing the Easter Hill Country bike ride. Some history: In 1969, James Avery designed a pin for the Apollo XII astronauts to wear for their lunar mission and was commissioned by NASA for 2 missions one in 1989 and 1992. In 1987, James Avery was commissioned to craft the silver communion vessels used by Pope John Paul II at mass in San Antonio.That was an important part of their journey and why I have followed them from Kerrville to San Antonio to San Antonio. I have several bracelets that have inscriptions and have always been impressed with the wonderful customer service at this location. Definitely worth a visit!! read more

8/5/2025: It has been awhile since I visited this store. They redid the area and now it is much brighter. I like it! Today I went in to have more charms added to my bracelet. I was immediately greeted and assisted with my selections. My order had to be sent out since one charm was being engraved and another was charm that was out of stock in the store needed to come from somewhere else and then be added to the bracelet. Jaky was very helpful. She explained everything in detail and took her time with me. I appreciated her professionalism and expert assistance. I felt like I was leaving my jewelry in good hands. I hope Jaky's manager sees this review. I was extremely impressed with her level of service. Great hire, JA! The store was clean and I only had to wait in line for a couple of minutes. This review is overdue. On my last trip to Houston, I visited the James Avery memorial mall location, and I am so happy I got to buy a few things for myself and the gift. Most importantly, this location is more significant than others, meaning we have more variety. Also, if you can find Delia there for help, you will be so happy to know her. She is one dedicated, hard-working, and delighted salesperson who will help you without pushing as a salesperson. She helped me with the sizes and the kinds of chains for my extremely helpful pendant. Since James A stores are only in Texas so we bought a few things as a souvenir for my family members. We highly recommend this particular location must visit, and if Delia is working that day, she will make your life much easier. read more

The manager here is a joke. I came here to purchase a gold charm necklace for my daughter. I inquired about using a necklace not normally meant for charms. The sales lady told me it couldn't be done. I asked to speak to the manager to get another opinion because I knew it could be; she informed me that she was the manager. I asked her to ask the actual jeweler and she refused. So we took our business to the Post Oak/Westheimer location and they were more than happy to help us out. The charm necklace, with the necklace we wanted, turned out beautifully. Beware of this location and this manager. She's lazy and will not go out of her way to help anyone. read more

Don't bother with this location , 30 minutes of waiting for someone to help us out, no one did so we walked out. The customer service is horrible, 4 employees, only one other customer in the entire store. One employee was helping that customer but the other 3 employees just hiding in the back, poor employee seemed to be the only one working, that same employee was the one that came to greet us and said she would be right with us , other employees looked from the back but then turned around. read more

Sales associates and manager asked if they could help me, when I came to them letting them know I'm waiting to pick up an online order, suddenly they can't help. all items are in stock, so that wasn't the issue. I guess they didn't feel like collecting the order right in that moment so they went back to standing around gossiping. Little tip to everyone out there. When it's my bday, Christmas, Valentine's Day, New Years, Easter, or "hey, Farrah, you're awesome" Day, the easiest gift to give me is a neatly wrapped James Avery box with a meaningful charm inside. What gal doesn't like charm bracelets? And James Avery is only the best to give (well, of course there's Tiffany's, but let's be realistic). Trust me. Save yourself time and sanity and just gift your friend a JA bracelete; then come every holiday, you know what to give them! Every visit to the mall, I have to swing by JA to see what's new. They just added a huge collection of Texas colleges to their charm line, and come the change of season, you'll find something new. Just keep in mind, it's bad luck to buy one for yourself! Most of my charms are from family: UT Longhorn, a margarita, flip flop, "special aunt," the Lamb of God, and most recently from my niece and nephew who complain that I'm always on my laptop working--a laptop. How cute--and sad--is that?! I also love their new charm rings, necklaces and earrings, though, they can be pricey. My first JA piece was a beautifully handcrafted ring for my 15th birthday. I lost it months later while having fun at the beach. Sad face. The team at this particular location are all really helpful. Anytime you want a new charm out on your bracelet, just drop it off for a moment's time and they'll do it for free--but only if it's a JA charm. And they'll polish it off for you too. (If you visit during and right before the holidays, they might ask you to come back on a later day.) So remember, Farrah likes JA charms ... and Ferraris. Had the the worst experience with Vanessa the sales clerk. She was extremely disrespectful and snapped at me in front of a store full of people. Her store policy was not aligned with what is online and written in an email, and she had the audacity to argue. She should have minded her own business, since she wasn't even the sales associate helping me to begin with. She needs training in how to treat people in and out of the store. Even more frustrating was that upon calling customer service, I was told that the sales associate was clearly wrong an all accords, and my email was right. Had she taken the time to read it, and treat others with decency this issue could have been resolved at a store level in a amicable way. read more

I went in today hoping to purchase some rings, although slow at first to be greeted. I had a very helpful sales associate help me pick out the rings. She was very patient and took the time to help me pick exactly the rings I wanted. They could be faster to greet people because it was pretty empty on a Monday evening but eh I wasn't too worried. Beautifully expressed and emotionally charging I found her note that was attached to a pair of first class sterling silver oval cuff links. They come from James Avery, a craftsman american maker of sterling silver, gold and gemstone jewelry. I plan on wearing them tomorrow. So, look to distant horizons for a ray of shine and look not further than to the cuffs of my shirt. BLING. I never saw myself shopping, or owning any jewelry from Avery beyond 20 years of age. A few months ago at work, my chain broke. I got it years ago from a good friend. This Christmas when I was in town I took it to the James Avery store where she bought it in hopes that they could fix it for a reasonable price. I was a little worried when I walked in. I'd had a lousy day, and the store was pretty busy, and I had no idea how much they would charge me. The sales associate was very helpful, she measured my chain and said that they would replace it for me for half of the original cost. I got a brand new chain for $11. She even boxed and bagged it for me. It made my day so much better to walk out of the store with a brand new chain all wrapped up. I already have two beautiful crosses from James Avery, and I certainly plan to continue buying from them. The only shame is that there isn't a James Avery in Chicago. read more

I am an Ethiopian American Woman who applied for a job at James Avery. When I received the email I was extreme excited because not only do I absolutely love James Avery jewelry I love the fact that they are a Christian based company. On yesterday I arrived at James Avery for an interview for a part-time position and instead of being greeted by the person approaching me, I was prejudged. The assistant manager (whom I did not know at the time her title) never acknowledge my existence but instead made the choice to asked her coworker "if everything was okay". Now to set the scene... when I walk in everyone is busy so I see a rep bending down in front of a cabinet.. I waited until she acknowledge me which she does right away... We are now exchanging pleasantries while she is retrieving cleaning cloths from a cabinet... she was not standing in front of the safe with thousands of dollars exposed or high valued jewelry at risk of being taken... neither was I wielding a gun or a knife threatening her well-being... I simply wanted to let someone know I was there for an interview. In a split second this entire situation became uncomfortable and offensive. So now the Assistant Manager walks up and makes a judgment call based on my skin color... so the coworker now has to state the obvious that I am there for an interview is when the tone of the Assistant Manager changed and now she can acknowledge me. I shook her hand and made eye contact to let her know I was aware of what she had just done without even saying a word the look of disappointment said it all. This is the closest James Avery to me. It gets very busy so most of the time, I order online to pick up at the store. I've had good & bad experiences here but my experience has been way better handling it this way since I'm in and out quickly. But I will say that my most recent experience was great! I went Friday (5/8/15) in search of a mother's day gift for my brother to gift his girlfriend. He had already sent me the pendant he wanted me to buy and the necklace. Unfortunately, the pendant was sold out and I was DREADING the idea of having to go look for something since the line was so long & I had already waited some time before I was help. This location will not release my sister's bracelet. We went in to add an extension to make it longer. For some reason they said it would take 7-14 whole days. We stil agreed, they said if sooner, they would email us. Well, its been a month and no email. We happen to be at the mall and stopped by. We realized we didn't have the receipt so they wouldn't release it. Fair enough, we came home and unfortunately couldn't find the receipt. We called again and explained the situation, they asked us to the email (that we never received). My sister who dropped it off is minor so she doesn't have an id. I came in this location to buy a charm, already knew what I wanted as I had looked online, just needed to purchase! There were about 4 women including me at one glass case, and finally someone (after 5 minutes) came over and asked each Lady if they needed help, before she got to me a customer said yes and she helped her and I waited patiently because surely she would ask me next, right? No, she didn't, instead she left and I had to get her attention. When I explained what she did, she tried to blame it on fixing the display in the case because it was driving her crazy, customers should always come first even if that statement was "true". I am an African American woman and I came to the store looking very relaxed (due to a dinner I had to get fancy for later) and this is why I believe she decided to walk away before asking me if I too needed her help. Horrible and rude customer service. The manager refused to talk to me, but through an associate told me customer service was closed on Saturdays, when the website online indicates that customer service is open on Saturdays. Then, magically about half an hour later after it was clear that I wasn't easily put off, customer service was available and worked with the store. The store never provided me any explanation about their previous statements that customer service was closed. I am happy with the quality of the items that I exchanged, but I will never ever go to this store again. The experience was so unpleasant I might never purchase from James Avery again, as going to the store (and this particular store) used to be so much fun. After being a lifelong customer (and from a James Avery family), it's time to take my business to a location or another company. I am so thoroughly disappointed with the service. I love going to James Avery and customer service that is offered with it. Even on their busy holiday days they still manage to offer great customer service, usually. I dropped my bracelet off for a cleaning and after picking it up the following day their still was dirt and gunk inside two of the charms. Yea it came back polished but didn't look like much of a cleaning. I pointed out one charm that needed to be cleaned and the lady took it back and the manager managed to clean it with a brush. I looked at the other and seen dirt still inside that charm. I then asked the lady how they cleaned the bracelets and she explained. I showed her the charm and she apologized again taking the charm back to be cleaned. It came back better. I love James Avery but will have to point out what I need cleaned and double check it upon picking up. read more

Extremely busy place, I suggest going during week to get in and out quickly. Was here to pick up a gift for a gf. I prefer their non religious items, and they have plenty to choose from even if religious items aren't your cup of tea.. I absolutely love James Avery! They have beautiful jewelry that you can't find anywhere else. They have charms for just about any occasion or life event that you can imagine. Customer service is fantastic. It's easy to exchange or return. I got my mother a pair of earrings for Christmas that she felt were too big for her ears. We went in, she picked out a pair that were more to her liking and the whole process was a breeze. Dropped off my daughters bracelet Sunday no one tries to help or offer assistance.. came in Monday to pick it up dealt with Sara handed her my receipt she snatched and walked off .. came back put it down asked her a question about the links she has rude responses and got annoyed when I was asking prices... I complained to a manager after I left.. the mAnager must have told her something immediately after I got calls from store giggles and Sara saying I got u b****!!
